RealAir Turbine Duke

Hi Jack,Please moderate your language. Thanks. As I said, Many, many users like the quick/click view feature, and if your view is not tied to an app that makes it difficult to keep a given view still, it works very well, and did so in many hours of testing. I've already said we will look into perhaps making this an option so track IR and other addon users can switch it off, but meantime as the above post says, you can edit or get rid of any or all of the camera views by removing them or changing the way they work, since the camera entries are straightforward and easy to deal with. Just make sure that if you remove a particular camera listing you re-order the consecutive numbering of each camera entry. For now though, please keep in mind that thousands of users do not have track IR and they are very happy with the click featurs. I'm discussing this with Sean and getting his views on the possibility of an update for Track IR users. Thank you.Rob - RealAir
I use both TrackIR and EZCA and find that I can adapt to the RealAir quick/click feature just fine...no need to overreact to a couple of complaints. I do wonder if this could be made optional through the Config Panel.Great plane, Robert!

If you pull onto the runway, hold brakes and bring the levers forward slowly till the props speed up, release brakes (here we go again with the argument that you shouldn't use brakes and that a "good" pilot can overcome engine differences and control linkage differences and control this much asymmetric thrust if one engine spools up faster
Yes, I am currently testing what torque value I need to set for take off to get a nice, gentle climb out! That slight pull to the right that I experienced on take off is presumably the asymmetric thrust caused by one of the engines spooling up quicker than the other as I rolled down the runway. I will hold it with the brakes in future until the torque values of both engines stabilise :(

Yes, the green arc should end at 198kts.
Thanks again. :smile:And thanks, Bert, that edited cfg file really is a tip I have to try.Rob - RealAir, I'm feeling sorry for that other guy using strong words to describe a wish, while I think that Stephen used the very best words to describe that the TrackIR fellows would enjoy an on/off option for the clickspots.I think that this feature is really neat and also shows that the developer (you) thought far ahead and with the comfort of the customer in mind. Thumbsup! Sadly, the advantage of the one group may be a disadvantage of the other one, or at least distracts them when they use some other addon stuff (which e. g. TrackIR and EZCA are), so nobody blames Realair here and nobody should use such words to state a wish of course.Customers are never happy though, they (including me of course) always find something to wish, improve or adjust. But they really like your product, that's why they look into such details I think.

Hi CoolP,Yes you're right. When the initial reaction dies down somewhat, people understandably start to look at what could be improved, especially from their point of view. It's natural and expected. I'm fine with it. We do like courtesy though and as long as that is observed I'm happy to listen to any suggestions or wish lists! All the best,Rob - RealAir

Hi all,got myself the turbine duke in addition to the piston duke I already own. Great work! I've always been waiting for a good GA light/medium turboprop for FSX, and here it is.Two things though:1. Being a TrackIR user, I second the idea of making the panel clickspot feature optional. Every time I don't hit a switch correctly will change the view, which can be annoying.2. The handling of three-position-switches should IMHO be improved, because right now it works like this: keep left/right-clicking or rotating the mouse wheel in any direction, and the switch goes from pos1 to pos2 pos3 then back to pos2 and pos1. I't would be great if that could be changed to work as follows: left click increases switch pos, right click decreases switch pos, same with the mousewheel direction. I found it counterintuitive to not be able to move a switch up and down but to have to step through a cycle.Regardsbpcw001

I would really rather like to have the RIGHT click increases switch pos, and LEFT click decreases switch pos.. I am left handed...It is so annoying to have a perfect plane that cant help to look for something to say.. Man this is an awesome plane..! Just joking about the click preference... LOL

Ha! And I'd like a Virtual Cockpit virtual cash machine that spews out paper money on demand, in between sipping coffee from a virtual vendor, a neck massage while flying and a classical orchestra in the back playing some mozart. :)

:(

Just love this plane. Yesterday went from Zurich to Cardiff, the left engine failed 30 nm miles out... Flew the rest on one engine fine. Now doing the return leg and the left engine cut out again above the channel... I'm going to check the failure settings I selected, that's a bit too much or the brits didn't mend my turbine correcltly ;)

Cheers,

Thomas

Rob and Sean,That you two are a class act is without question. Like many others, I do have the Duke piston and like it very much.I also have your other creations as well. However, there is something very special to me about this plane. It just has..."it".Many have given their thanks and I would be remiss without giving mine publicly too.Now..I am tryin to figure out how to get the vending apparatus' operating while being massaged.Thank you both for doing what you do. It is truly special!

Meh, I actuallhy prefer Beethoven to be honest.

So with the Duke as far as V-Speeds go the only difference between the Piston and the Turbine is Stall Spped and Min Control Speed right, all the other speeds are excactly the same?

The gear and flap speeds are the same, other than that the rest are different :(

O ok, those speeds you posted before where they from the POH of the piston version (i have a POH) or for the turbine version?
