Re: NGX impending release: Are we there yet?

Perhaps the ngx is already in beta. They were not going to announce it before it actually happened.....
what do you mean by before it actually happens? I mean once its in beta doesn't that mean it actually happens? Im so confused Joe Barton

Ditto Ryan. Canadian pilot stuck at 312 hours and the heaviest thing I have flown is also the Piper Aztec E (50 hours on it)!
The one I flew was an F model and since I did my instrument rating on it, I ended up with a little over 70hrs on it. Then the school shut down and the one I moved to only has an old Baron and a Travelair. I keep telling them someone put the throttle quadrant on those 2 together wrong. (For those who don't know the joke, normally it's, from left to right, throttles, props, mixutres. Old Beechcrafts have it props, throttles, mixtures for some strange and irritating reason.)

He means that PMDG will tell us the NGX is in beta after the NGX enters beta. This could be the day after they begin, it could be the last day of beta before they release.

I was gonna say a joke but maybe we should keep it PG rated lol
Haha i thought about that after i wrote it. I figured someone would get a crack out of it. Anyways....i was just saying it doesnt matter how big the plane is that one flies as long as one can have a good quality of life to go along with it. It means nothing to fly a 757 or something like that if one is gone 20 days out of the month and being abused by scheduling and getting payed crap.

FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠

You're right it could release this weekend, but it could also relesae today or maybe in a few month. But discussing that doesn't make sense at all because we can't be sure anyway and guessing won't make it faster.Just don't worry, you'll notice when the NGX is released.

Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!

... I'm just tired of waiting... cause it's so tempting to come over this forum to check if the plane is out 6 times a day.... I am going to bed.Greg

too much, too soon....

Well... I'm doing the same thing! I'm waiting to upgrade my computer once NGX enters Beta. I don't want to buy it too early so that when NGX release I have to upgrade it again.

Why do yo feel like a lot of people you will need to upgrade for the NGX or worried if you upgrade 2 or 4 weeks too early for this aircraft that your computer wont be good enough?. I run the MD11, J41 & 747 with full blown maxed out ORBX seneries on a 2 year old computer running Win XP 32 and have excellent framerates/speed, never had a glitch and never modified my fsx.cfg and never had a seperate frame limiter. Already been stated it is most likely run on or close to even par as the MD11 as in performance.

Really ? Can you post your specs and settings ?... I remember Uncle Dave pretending to run FSX maxed out with an old Intel 486 SX25 with 8MB Ram on Windows 3.11 ..... Oh gosh, he was really high that night... :(

2 year old i7 systems are pretty capable. Core 2s are not...

...well if only 486 SX25 were Core2.... 486 SX25 was launched in 1993 if I remember well... that was indeed my first laptop (AST brand).By the way, I run an i7 860 à stock 2.8Ghz and confirm that it can run FSX quite well with FPS limiter and Bojote tweaks (Bufferpools = 0) quiet impressive tweaks indeed... Soon with my new fan, I'll try to overclock the processor to 3.2 via the standard Asus Bios utility.

core 2s are very capable. I ran fsx very nicely on my q6600 system. However, the core i7 machines run the simulator much faster. How many gigaflops of information can these processors manage nowadays?

As of 2010, the fastest six-core PC processor has a theoretical peak performance of 107.55 GFLOPS (Intel Core i7 980 XE)
