oh well, lets be positive...that would be fine with me:) A trip to hawaii and the ngx:) hehe

I just paid for my tickets to go to Australia (Brisbane) for 2 weeks in January, first time Ill be on a 777, $433.33 J-Class CYEG-CYVR-YSSY then drive down..or up I guess to Brisbane.. Pays to know people I guess, its standby but J-Class for that price Ill eat some kraft dinner for a bit.. I feel the same way about the teasers but really what can you do? I was hoping for a release over the winter as most of my time is spent inside. Its spring here now and actually above 0 so I couldn't care less about when it releases now, I won't even buy it until the fall. Probly won't even be out then but... Summer is far to short to spend it inside on the computer, Im only on here right now because I am waiting for some paint to dry at the moment. Once my new radio arrives this week all my time will be out at the flying field. Find another hobby other than flight sim.Stop getting all worked up about it people, its been the same story of "impending release" for how long now? And the false promises like the night shots or announcing beta. Now its changed to announcing beta AFTER its started, They obviously like to keep us in the dark even though we are the ones that are going to pay for it.Spend some time with your kids, if you are a kid.. do your chores.. or live the dream and actually be a kid. Stress kills, and getting all stressed out about an FSX addon is a pretty rediculous reason to be stressed out. Corey Prefontaine CYEG

As far as the videos go, I could just as easily argue that making videos means development is largely finished (as RSR has previously noted) and that they have time to make videos as they wrap up production. Why go through the hassle? Well, I could argue that making a video isn't just about appeasing customers before release, but to show off the product to customers down the road.
I agree with you. Anyone who has been watching this forum for some time knows that PMDG does not release pictures and videos of features that are not completed. If they have a video/picture for us, it's because progress is being made. You may remember of when the first external pictures were released. Ryan, Randazzo and Vin said several times that until the external model had been completed, they were not going to disclose any image. But as Alex said before, if we don't get pictures, it's because they are not progressing; if we get pictures, it's because they want to stall us for some time because of a delay of some sort.
Four weeks or so ago we were told not to go on any short holidays/vacations because you'll miss the realease; I've now been on effectively THREE short holidays and no NGX?!
I suppose that you did see Ryan's post saying that the short vacation thing was just a joke Randazzo threw at us and he didn't actually meant that, right?
I can only conclude that it must have something to do with the iFly release date... Seems like PMDG are now stalling until it releases first.
I agree with you too. I've been thinking if PMDG is not just waiting iFly to release their 737 before PMDG releases the NGX. Even though PMDG says they don't make decisions based on others developers' actions, I think that's the case here. If PMDG released the NGX before iFly, PMDG would take 99% of iFly customers.

I really don't know why everyone is getting so worked up about matters....It should be obvious from the amount of times they've said it, that it will be released when it is ready...
The reason you don't get it is because you're missing our point. We know it will be ready when it's ready. Hardly anyone is disputing that. Please don't diminish what is clearly a very passionate hobby to a lot of people here. Maybe for you it's not a big deal and maybe for you it's not worth giving a second thought if the plane comes out in 10 days or 10 years. But for many, many of us...it is a big deal to have our attention, enthusiasm, and high spirits played with with all these "teaser" tidbits that seem to stretch on for months and months and months.Add on to that PMDG has hyped this up as the end-all-be-all of flight sim addons. Do you really expect people to react any less then they have up to this point?Realize that not everyone has the same viewpoint on flight simming that you do."...but if you don't want to be teased, just go and fly something else and await the release of it..."We're already doing that. We've been doing that since the NGX was announced some 3 years ago.Do you think people have the choice not to be teased? We come here looking for news, announcements, information; anything that will satiate our burning hunger to fly what PMDG promises to be the most realistic and advanced aircraft simulator we have ever laid our hands on. Instead, we get statements such as "don't take a vacation you wouldn't want to miss it" followed by "that was a joke" weeks later. It's not funny.

Considering I've spent the past several years voluntarily reviewing stuff for the benefit of flight simmers and spend a fair bit of time trying to help people out with replies on Avsim, I think it should be fairly apparent that I've more than a passing interest in flight sims. I'm not missing any points, I'm pointing out that getting worked up about it won't achieve anything other than to get worked up.Al

I fully agree. I really like PMDG's products and thier guys are nice, but the thing is with a product like this, leaving people with no room for planning and just having hopes that don't seem to turn to reality is annoying. I lie ewhat A2A does, they announce a product, show some pictures of it, and then they tell nothing for awhile and give you dev. updates ever few months so you know what's up. They also work on more than one project at a time, so we could have had our 777 nearing release late this year if they had done tandem projects, but its their decision not to, no big deal.Carenado is the best though, they give you pics of the product, in the modeling program, with its first textures, first time with the exterior 'gliding' in the sim, and they constantly let you know what the status is. I like that.Otherwise, great company and products

Why would they want to wait for iFly's to be released?

That's probably a little over the top. Since anyone who has already purchased the FS9 version of the iFly 737 will get the FSX version for around $15, I very seriously doubt that PMDG is going to monopolize the 737 NG market. I own the iFly 737 for FS9, I'm already committed to purchasing the FSX version, and I will buy the PMDG 737 when it's released. I doubt that either developer is making their decisions based on what the other is going to do.

Guys and girls, please have some perspective it's a computer game a very sophisticated one but it's a computer game that we're all getting worked up about.Pete Walsh.

Running i5-9600K @ 4.8ghz - 32GB DDR4 3200mhz - GTX 3070.

No developer in their right mind would spend four years developing a kick &@($* airliner and then sit on it to allow a competitor to have first bite of the cherry. That would be an act of commercial stupidity.Al
