I read comments on Facebook like "no pics release it" and so on. People need to grow up and/or get a grip. The addon will be released when the dev team thinks it is mature for release and not a day sooner. The sooner people grasp this concept, the easier it will be. Or do you think that PMDG is happy to sit on the product, not releasing it earlier just to spite and annoy us? Get real. Andrew

The fact that there's only four pictures adds to the teasing of us! Another thing that has angered us (or at least me) is that a bunch of PeopleFlow ground crew guys are getting to meet the NGX before we do...

No offence but they generate all this hype and wonder why they have complaints
Just what i was thinking, again nothing personal, just a bit annoyed.

Yes, well most of the us following this thing for the past couple of years have been pretty patient and positive. The guys at pmdg are obvisuly working hard behind the scenes working on the beta alpha or whatever or the real beta. I agree, I understood the 'don't take any short turn vacations' as a remark that meant they are getting close and had some seriousness to it. Seems a little harsh with all of these patient followers to be joking when people have been waiting patiently for quite a long time. I think a vc video would be good:))Drooling.gif I'm joking and I am serious:) lol

Some of those people are pretty young, so don't get yourself worked up over it? Yes, we all know they will not release it before it is ready...

Somehow I think its time Robert said a few words :(

I'm of the opinion that PMDG has been singing too long from the same hymne sheet, and I just got bored with that song and moved on.Honestly I must admit that there is more to life than waiting for this 737 to be released! Like today, the sun is shining :-)Tom Pieters

Who wants a rushed, half baked product. I am willing to wait until it's finished.

I can only conclude that it must have something to do with the iFly release date... Seems like PMDG are now stalling until it releases first. First we weren't to go on short-term vacations, now we're expecting movies instead of the actual product release. Given my enthusiasm about the 737NGX, I've been exceptionally patient until now. This is despite thinking it was going to be out in November ("The manuals are being released; one of the last things we'll do before release"), then December ("We're really trying hard for a release this year"), then January (surely it'd be out after I got back from a 1 month trip), then April ("Beta was going to be Friday, now Monday, don't take any short term vacations"), but Ryan's post about movies was...disappointing. I'm not saying I don't want to see the movies, but, if the community reaction is anything to go by, it really seems that we have been fed one too many lines. Please do release it when it's ready. However, and I say this in the nicest way possible, I think everyone would appreciate a little openness/honesty.

I love this. Some people think if they aren't releasing more videos it indicates a lack of progress. Other people think if they do release more videos it also indicates a lack of progress! Cynicism appears to be running rampant and logic is completely absent.
It seems completely logical that by releasing videos, there are no short term plans to release the plane - otherwise they would just release the plane and forget about the videos. Afterall, as Ryan said, the videos are rather labor intensive. Why go through the hassle of making them if the release was imminent?

I agree. It's not the actual wait, more so the way it's been handled. It's almost contradictory how the stated policy is "no release dates", but then these clever, suggestive comments are made, as you noted, leading us to expect something that doesn't quite turn out to be reality. It honestly doesn't bother me, we went through this with the MD11 so it really isn't any surprise. PMDG makes the best stuff on the market and I'll continue to be a customer, I just wish they were a little more forthcoming and a little less evasive.
Some people are upset because they don't release pictures, but when the pictures are up some are upset because they are teasing them.
Well, speak for yourself. Lately, the pictures seem to be more of a vehicle for advertisement for ORBX than anything else. I'd like to see some more VC pictures myself, I'm getting a bit tired of the exterior model.-lee johnson

gbalean, excellent post my thoughts excatly & probablya whole lot of others if they would just admit it.

I would have to agree as well. I am a big fan of PMDG but it seems this way of handling the communication of updates has been working against them. That being said I'm on the side of those who don't mind the wait, or the lack of updates. I think creating hype is nice, but the lack of followup is a bit annoying to say the least.

Well said Lee and gbalean, there are some members on this forum that seem to lick up to certain people!... I for one is a potential paying customer for this product and may I say again "A Customer" and what I would expect at least is straightforward information and honesty from the supplier. Please PMDG no more smoke, no more cryptic clues or jokes :( Just plain old honesty :( :(

As far as the videos go, I could just as easily argue that making videos means development is largely finished (as RSR has previously noted) and that they have time to make videos as they wrap up production. Why go through the hassle? Well, I could argue that making a video isn't just about appeasing customers before release, but to show off the product to customers down the road.

That's a perfect summary of what's occurred here, great post!
