PMDG 737 NGX Approach Checklist, please!

Featured Replies

I would like to think the same thing. Problem is, a lot of average pilot's cross wind techniques just are not up to par. Trust me. :( Heck, while I'm at it a majority find 2,500' (regardless of trees) short. :rolleyes:I can't wait to see how the NGX handles in crosswinds.
Wow yeah I hear ya. I know those too... While I have not gone way below 2K' personally (with trees plus down-slope though, that is), some guys from class have taken it down to like 1300' strips. Talking usual single engine props here, nothing UL or the like. I would not have dared haha. Judging by POH numbers it should be perfectly fine, but then you need to smash it into the numbers or it's time for another circuit I suggest. :( In any way, quite exciting when you're not used to it and have little experience.sig.gif

I keep flitting between these forums and PMDG's Facebook site. On FB they have a great cockpit shot and even show the yoke retracted/lowered to enable an uninterupted view of the CDU - I never knew it could do that.I would post the picture but my internet is too slow.
Lowering the yoke in the 3D cockpit to allow for a better view of the screens is a function PMDG have had on most of their aircrafts I think.

Not me.
I will still wait for PMDG.

Well, Michael summed it up pretty well IMHO. Those who wait will certainly know why they do... All due respect to the iFly devs though, and each to their own. :(sig.gifEdit: Oh wow, this is not intended as an offense but simply an observation. If you like check out the last (4th, that is) screenshot on the iFly website and have a look at the HUD. Well, the 'other' NG's collimation did convince me somewhat more, to say the least. OTOH, the one is out, the other one not... so I certainly understand those who can't wait any longer after all haha. :( Have fun everyone!

'PMDG....you have lost a lot of NGX customer' wow how silly this person is... As far as I am concerned PMDG's NGX will be light years ahead of any other competition. I find it incredible that people are still giving them a hard time about release. For me its so refreshing that there is one company that has one VISION and will not be swayed by external pressures to release before its completed. I know that this NGX is going to redefine an aircraft for FSX and we are going to be ultimately privileged to have her to play with. It cannot be easy to have to push delivery to nearly 8 months past the original time frame (how do they pay the bills!) but from what I can gather decisions made last April will ultimately give us a 737 and a 777 which will push the envelope beyond our wildest dreams. I applaud PMDG and all their staff as this has been no easy feat. Ultimately I am so grateful that PMDG still stands for the 'best' no questions asked and we should all realise that the dedication and complete unadulterated way in which they work is to be applauded. It must be difficult that another 737 is being released as we speak but it takes quite a nerve to stay the course until they are ready. I am constantly amazed that too few are praising what must be going on behind the scenes so that we can have an incredible aircraft in our hands...Sorry for my feelings...Can you IMAGINE what the 777 is going to be like..... :( Hamish

Personally I think that PMDG MAY have lost a few sales due to the ifly release... Sure the loyal pmdg followers and those who want really detailed simulations will wait for the ngx, but for the average flightsimmer, the 1st one that comes out will be the one they want. There are many more 'average flightsimmers' out there compared to true enthusiasts, pmdg followers and avsim readers and although the ifly may not be as simulated as the pmdg ngx, I cant see these average simmers purchasing another 737 anytime soon. Its all about getting your product out to the widest market before anyone else, so your product can sell to a wider audience, not just to exsisting customers and perhaps a few new ones.I used to be like this, but after following this thread for some time, Im going to wait for the ngx. Dont hate me. The above is just my opinion.

Yeah sorry, I probably shouldn't have brought this up, let's better not dig into this any deeper (even if we could... duh). Anyways, your decision is probably the wiser one. :(sig.gif

Count me 1, I'm still waiting for PMDG as long as I can fly the NGX in summer holiday as Im having exams in the next few weeks. Wouldn't care about anything else except the NGX!Frank Cao

well after a short test flight i can honestly say it needs alot of work (you know what im talking about) you cant adjust the displays to they are brighter than the rest of the cockpit so sometimes they are too dim to read (This is never a problem with the MD11 i might add) and there is 1 floodlight that only works at night even though sometimes you need it during the day, again the MD11 has never had this problem. The FPS on my system (i7+GTX460) is poor,. worse than any addon I have, the MD11 hits 40fps and the "you know what" manages to get to 30fps untill you move the mouse then the FPS drops to the low 20s.Roll on PMDG 737NGX.
