This is getting ridiculous, you keep telling us that it won't be released till it's ready, we're giving you the best addon ever for FSX, all these promises.Yet the problem is why these innovations have gone way over schedule."We're on the FINAL lap now guys" has been said from June 2010 now, this is why we are all so bl**dy frustrated. We have been on the premise that the ngx could be released tomorrow, HERE is the problem when tomorrow comes, and we havent got it..imagine the boat that we are in, it has been "tomorrow" all the way from june 2010, so thats 365 days of disappointment .I would honestly not be surprised if we got the ngx in 2012, not this year, by the goings on here./rant
The only reason I can think of is economy and project’s P/L,for example if the price of the product is 5 times higher, there are a strong possibility that the release will be much sooner (income is much higher), the expected income led toa limited number of developers (we are not talking about Boeing here), as far as I know all team has two jobs, I was inquiring about a real world simulationproduct it’s in hundreds of thousands and millions of $ …… I don’t mind if therelease will be 2014, only please the polished promises is giving a negative impact on most of us waiting for morethan a year. PMDG we trust you and can’t wait for flying NGX forgive us…

Classic example of someone mincing a PMDG members words and spreading all the unnecessary false hope on these forums. Like many, I have visited these forums practically everyday for the past 18-24 months for updates on the NGX and managed to keep patient. Trust me if I can, anyone can. Not anywhere will you find RSR/Ryan etc mentioning a specific release date - where have you got the impression the NGX could be released tomorrow when we have been told they will announce when wide-beta hits? Stop getting wound up and yours and other peoples hopes up over a premise in your head. Deal in facts and nothing but facts.

Pmdg has put alot of effort time AND money into this project. Furthermoore, this is how RSR pays for things like a mortgage, and food for himself and his family. There is a huge payday on this product, and we all know it. So I ask this question- is there anybody here that wants this release more than him?

A little PR and some discretion over what you tell us goes a long way to cooling heads.
Well said and I think you are speaking for more of a majority than can be detected from these forums. In fact, all you're going to get (as evidenced already) is responses of the apologetic kind.We don't "tell" PMDG anything, they'll (obviously) do as they please. But PR at PMDG is somewhat lacking. Robert, over the years, always comes in and makes estimates that slip - always. That's fine, if that's what he wants, but it ISN'T good PR, by most standards, to be estimating dates and then having them pass without a word. I suspect this is why we don't hear from MS about flight but for set intervals. PMDG is the industry leader, bar none, no question, end of story. With that standing comes some form of responsibility. Neither, Ryan, nor Jack C, nor anyone else is actually a trained PR person and it shows - they, understandably, come with human reactions, ego, and pride. They are not "bad" at all for this, but they don't sustain a professional PR approach at all. This doesn't mean they are bad guys, or don't know about the product, or don't care. It simply means that they do not sustain a professional approach to PR. No, it's not that they aren't "professional," I'm strictly speaking about the delicate flower that is PR.Now, lest you discount me on the grounds of "hey, this is just flight simulation, give it a rest, etc." I believe that Robert does this full time. A man of his stature - former airline pilot, ran for office, etc - isn't just "playing around" with this stuff - as evidenced from the strategic partnership he's formed with Boeing. I'm certain that Boeing keeps their customers informed, on some sort of reliable interval, when things get delayed with the 787. Now, I realize that I'm not making "apples to apples" here, and that Boeing > PMDG by a mile, but the information stream from PMDG is not always managed in a "friendly" manner. When targets slip, and we get, tomorrow, I promise tomorrow, then it is probably best to either not say anything or just do regular posts on a set interval.I realize that my sentiments are going to go over with the hoi polloi on here about as well has APongr's have, but guys like me have been there EVERY STEP OF THE WAY with PMDG. That doesn't give me the right to tell PMDG what to do, but it should afford me the courtesy of voicing my observations without derision.Don't tell me "oh dude, it's just a fake plane for a hobby, get over it," because its more than that for most of us, including PMDG. We know it takes time, and we know "it'll be done when it is done," and most of us aren't disputing that, we just feel that the PR facet is erratic and sometimes both hostile and patronizing.

Is it so ridiculous to wait to get a perfect bird instead of releasing a product you're not satisified with. I'm also really expecting it since a long time, but it just takes time to reach the level of quality they want. I really think they would have released it if it was meeting their level of quality. If it is not they just chase done every single thing until they are satisified.I really think that is the best way to go, even if it takes the longer, because you deliever something that will amaze people, and when it will be released I'm sure we'll all be satisfied with it. I just don't think it's right to release something like an other company, and make people keep waiting for maybe a year before releasing a patch.
You may be missing the nuance of the frustration. Yes, okay, it'll take 4 years (or whatever) to make it. But please handle it by just telling us what is going on without dates - what we don't like (and nobody ever would really) is: + big announcement, awesome stuff, we're excited and x should happen by y date/time+ unaddressed silence as days/weeks/months pass since last announcement and then... (repeat)I mean, make a developers blog and just let the guys doing the work talk every day, or, do a pro PR job and let someone give us regular information. Anyhoo, just wanted to say that most of us "get it" that the perfection - which will get service packs no matter what - is going to take an unknown period of time. Just tell us how its going, a quick little note, a developers blog, or something.

Really? And you know this for a fact huh? I think you should find out the facts before stating your opinion.

LOL you go that right. Robert would be crazy to use me as a PR person. PR is for telling people what they want to hear. Not my style. If someone is being an &@($*, I'll tell him you are being an &@($*. I don't like sugar coating things in life. Tell it like it is is the best philosophy IMHO. Its truely is funny how any aviation related forum is. If you go to avcanada, pprune, etc all you ever hear is people slamming each other constantly. Avsim isn't too far behind. Now when I go a drummers forum that I am on there is nothing but people helping people. Its such a nice break. Unfortunately aviation is in my blood. One thing I can tell you is this. The complainers can sit on here complaining that the world owes them and I promise nothing is going to change. Try it and see. JackColwill

Not sure i would call it complaining, more like constructive criticism. I thought it was a fair post, not the normal whinning we have to put up with here.
