09JUL11 Update on NGX Release Progress

Featured Replies

I have been a member of the PMDG "family" from near the inception, like a lot of you and occasionally I will venture an opinion or two. I have come to the conculsion after reading some of the "comments", that those who write this drible do so just to elicit reaction from the stabler members. Not seeing the longer picture, like the majority of us, they seek to create animosity amongst the membership for their own satisfaction. As it is said "Idle time is the devil's workshop", so as we all wait for, what will be the premier product in the flight simulation industy, the us take a deep breath grabbed a glass of your favorite beverage, becuase when the NGX comes out we are all going to very busy.

We are seeing and hearing some fantastic stuff from the beta testers though. Every news post by them is great

Fully agree. After all why should we hasten things and get an unfinished product. (surely will not happen with PMDG , they will never compromise their standards because of a post or two) . We should wait patiently until PMDG decides it is fit to release the NGX, so that we can have the best ever desktop simulation for our money.

I too have been a member for quite a while and am proud to say that I own every plane PMDG has offered. They are each amazing, unique, and ahead of their time when released and I am sure the NGX will exceed all expectations. It will be a wonderful addition to my fleet. Up to now, I have refrained from commenting in this forum for all the dribble and rediculous comments made by the few that have caused threads to be closed and anger to flare. Having personally dealt with the PMDG staff I know they are doing their level best to produce a product that will be simply amazing, as all the past have been. To those of you who continue to complain, please, go get a life. To reiterate a comment, it's only a simulation! For those of you serious PMDG'rs who are leaving because of these idiots, I can only say your views and assistance will truly be missed. I, for one, look for your comments if there are any issues and 99% of the time there is a post that assists. Maybe one final thought " grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference. KRouner

A rule in good customer relations is keeping very frequent updates with customers... That way no one bickers...

My point was the couple thousand I would spend on a pc I will put towards another raitng. obviously you are not a pilot in real life because you would know that amount would be the cost of a rating there fore affecting the time it takes to fly these. thanks I will enjoy flying for real

In all seriousness. The amount of money you would put into a computer to play fsx and the ngx wont really affect how long it takes to get your rating. Besides, its going to take years before you actually have a chance to fly these things.....unless you fly for an airline in India. Eat the cost and enjoy it. It will be worth it.Probably, I wouldn't doubt it.

For me the updates have always been fine. Sure there were times when we were sort of set up to expect a follow up update in short order and it never happened, but that is life. And the updates that have come have always been substational. That is not to say PMDG have been without fault here. There have been a few times, more than anyone would like, when it seems the pressure from this place got to them and they acted in a manner that I thought was way out of line, but I have brought that up in far more detail elsewhere, and it was responded to. But to say that PMDG should be more frequent on updates? I mean what do you want them to say? What do you want to get out of more updates?

Scott, I agree. I think there has been enough updates, but I think some people are just not going to get over that " coming 2010" thing. Software development is not easy, and what they have apparently have done with the NGX is not easy and I bet they would have loved to have released it earlier but it did not happen, and some people just need to get over that or move on to another product if it is a deal breaker for them.

Hello,i already read that the shared cockpit function will be implemented in the service packs. Can we trust this information? if yes, i will pre order :-)i did a flight yesterday in the leonardo maddog with a friend of mine using the "maddog multi crew function" (shared cockpit) and it works brilliant, even FMC, all the detailed Sytems (that were not implemented in the FSX ACES Systems), Autopilot, VNAV, LNAV, SID/STARS, ... change the control between pilot flying and pilot not flying.. just everything worked! (even on IVAO) Best feature ever, i didnt know that this was possible, but flying together is really a great addition
