So... About that video we promised you....

Captains!A few weeks ago (was it a month ago already? The days kind of run together at this stage of development...) I mentioned that I was working on a short video to demonstrate some of the "cool" features of the PMDG 737NGX.I mentioned that sewing the whole video together was not a high priority on my task list, but that I would try to get around to it.I still haven't. :( But this is one of those "bad news begets good news" moments since the reality of the matter is that my skills as a videographer are poor. My hope was to show you a really intimate view of the NGX cockpit in order to give you a dynamic view of just what you are getting with the PMDG 737NGX.But tonight I have something a little better for you!As I was getting signed Confidentiality & Non-Disclosure Agreements back from Chris Palmer and his crew over at Angle of Attack productions, I had one of those spontaneous moments- and decided to take a little gamble: I told Chris that I was releasing him from the public demonstration constraints of the NDA in order that he could start marketing Angle of Attacks upcoming training program for the PMDG 737NGX. After all, he has been waiting patiently for (no joke) years to be able to launch his PMDG 737NGX training program. In keeping with my workload, I promptly forgot about the work that AOA was starting until last night when Ryan interrupted my research into a PTU sensor with a rather unceremonious, "You need to see this."I assumed I was about to be ushered into another forum-thread-meltdown, but instead was stunned to be watching an impromptu video produced by one of the guys at Angle of Attack, to show our PMDG 737NGX to another developer at AOA who isn't currently able to work on the project. The video is 1:07:00 long- and I am not without an abundance of work- but I have managed to watch the video twice... This might sound completely off-the-wall, but: Some of us have been staring at the PMDG 737NGX for so long that we no longer see it as the advancement that it is- we see it in terms of the micro-focused area that we are currently debugging. The airplane has become a series of hyper-insulated parts that we work within for a few minutes at a time before moving on to the next bug fix, tune, tweak or modification.Yet here was a video created by someone who had only just gotten to see the airplane for the first time, describing the airplane to another user who had yet to see it, and I was mesmerized! The commentary internally at PMDG was along the lines of: "Wow... This really looks nice." And this commentary was coming from the people who have been head down on this airplane for so long that we have simply stopped seeing detail.Chris hit me up this afternoon and asked if it would be okay to post to the public. The caveat here is that this video was NOT intended to be viewed by anyone outside of AOA...But I think it speaks for itself.I'd like to thank Chris and Nick for letting us share this with you. I think this video can show you far more than any of us can describe in terms of the quality level you are getting with the PMDG 737NGX.So please allow me to show you a nice video... Not my work- but it probably turned out better that way!

Ok, at 0:59, I can see through the cockpit at the bottom of the section of the panel where the clock is, I don't know the official term, but it I can through it. The same is true for a section under the F/O's glaresheild on the top right of the shot at 1:20.You wanted it perfect.Still, an amazing cockpit, looking forward to flying it!

Yeah I don't expect any responses for about another hour or so haha.
I think the website is overloaded. My Firefox crashes when I clicked on "play". :(

Absolutely unbelievable! Once again, I'm totally speechless. MY GOD PEOPLE!!!!! I've got a feeling that after I install this aircraft I'm going to spend the first couple of hours just sitting on the ground!!!

Wow, I haven't even watched the whole video yet, I'm about 2 mins into it, and all I can say is that's an insane amount of detail you guys have put into this aircraft. Thanks PMDG and AOA!Big%20Grin.gif

That was one sweet "short" PMDG 737NGX video! :)*Did anyone notice every time Robert bolds "PMDG 737NGX" because I did.

Truly stunning work guys! And thanks to AOA for the really great grand tour. I know we can't fully appreciate the sacrifices and raw talent it took to get to this point, but you can bet I'll be one of those thinking to myself "thank you" with a giant grin every time I fire this sim up and take it for ride. Hats off to you! Can't wait to jump in the driver seat!

Collin-This video was done with an early beta... We've had a tester who's job was to roam about looking for holes- so they've all been closed.Oh- and I deleted your second post because you were incorrect- but I didn't see the need to let folks with more knowledge than you pick you apart because of it....

Ok, well, that is good news, and I never claimed to know everything, glad it has been fixed. Can't wait to see how it looks in action. As for the glareshield, I do not quite understand what you mean, please enlighten me? I saw a hole there as well, I was just noting it to improve the final product.
