I'm getting some oddly-dark clouds towards dusk using REX OD, Mark's final settings and John's ENB (with over saturation off) - but other than that can't complain
I just bought it and installed it. not sure if i have done things right. I selected mark's final and launched shade.exe. I'm getting those very black clouds. is there a solution to this ? I'm not using enb. thx Vic

Are you using REX Vic ? Default ? Have you tried different presets?

Did you clone the settings to all 10 days in the GUI?

Folks, I'm using REX and I did not clone anything. (that I know of LOL)

The cloning refers to the button in the GUI. You can clone the day1 settings to the remaining 9 with this. The manual explains the need and structure for this step a bit more detailed, but with REX running, it should be recommended. When you load or save a preset, only day1 is loaded/saved. So every time you want to use it with REX, the cloning step is necessary. At least from my current understanding of the software.Just load a profile and press the clone day one button to be set, which just means that the colours are getting applied to all FSX 'days'. This guarantees that you will see them later. However, the too dark clouds, currently, only can be avoided when using a lighter shadow setting. So you may have to tweak the current setting a bit. Look here on how it can be done. http://forum.avsim.n...ost__p__2104882 When using ENB, there may be more sources (in the ENB settings) to maybe cause the clouds to turn too dark. This isn't a problem of Shade I think, but one of the combination from your current ENB settings and the Shade enhancements.Be aware that you are running at least two multi-option graphic enhancers now, one influencing the other.

Thanks for the info. It helped! I pressed cloned day one and no more black clouds. :(

Do you mean default Shade settings or default FSX, David? The first thing can be achieved by loading the Shade GUI (the tricky one happy.png ), then use the preset Shade Default.SLP (from \Shade\presets), then the clone day one button and then exit the GUI.On the next FSX start via Shade.exe, the default Shade values should be there. Now to get default FSX settings is even easier since you would just avoid clicking the Shade.exe and start FSX via the click on the FSX.exe itself.Shade won't inject the new colours then and you therefore receive FSX as it was before.
It helped!
Glad to read this. smile.png Thanks to André, he pointed out the importance of the cloned days.

Thanks CoolP ;) No, I have used the "Shade Set & Forget" exe file so the Shade colours are injected without having to use the Shade or Shade_NL executable file every time, whch is very cool but... I can't revert to the default FSX colours, I mean I can't use FSX without Shade now. blink.png

Yes André, definitly, but it is the Shade default and not FSX default. smile.png

I see. I haven't used that 'Set & Forget' method until now (I only saw the announcement) I must admit. So any advise of mine would be pure guesswork and may do more harm than good.

Thanks anyway.Let's see what Steve will say.In the meantime I will try changing REX textures and launch FSX without Shade.

Interesting. If it would have offered cloud shadows, I would have bought it immediately. happy.png For now I will wait until the clouds can be shaded seperately. I also think this is one of those addons you won't really miss if you haven't used it, if you know what I mean. I clearly miss Orbx scenery or REX clouds if I don't use them, but for instance ENB I can do without after reinstalling my new pc... And since I usually fly at daytime (don't like the weird effects sunrise and sunset can give) I doubt if I will notice a big difference at all.Still, it's great to see new things coming to FSX! EDITDarned, David, I've been around here long enough to know better, but I just tried to wipe that little bug fom my screen when reading my own post... laugh.png You've got the best sig pic in town. happy.png

Hey guys Bare withme theres a lot to get through here and at a few other boards! First off let me express heartfelt thanks to everyone sofar for all the positive comments/feedback/screenshots and support you've shown me/Shade and each other so to you all of you Many Thanks /Bow @David Roch: Tut tut for not backuping, that said i knew this would happen so i slipped an autobackup into set_and_forget,if you havent already just run the main shade.exe and a "restoring from unexpected exit" box should popup and restore the backup S&F made before temp installing the current values, once that done exit fsx/shade and restart the shade GUI for tweaking if that doesnt work PM/mail me and i'll try and work you up a quick fix for you.S&F is unsupported atm and will get added/supported in 1.01 (as well as a few other tweaks/presets) i do work full time (not as an FSX dev)so it might take me a week or so to get it all in and testedOk going to got re-read this thread and the few pages added since last night,i'll make a number of posts as i go along some might just be a redirection to the shade blog where ive already made note of a few things ppl have mailed me about Cheerssteve
