September 11, 201114 yr Darned, David, I've been around here long enough to know better, but I just tried to wipe that little bug fom my screen when reading my own post... You've got the best sig pic in town. lol Jeroen we can make a price award for capture the bug that's floating around our screens since 2003 here at AVSIM lol André
September 11, 201114 yr HelloGood job, good enhancement for my FSX. I have a problem with the palette, it opens many icons in the bootom right.when I modify many colors. And when I edit a color, it starts with a medium blue, not with the original color, and it remembers not the personal colors I save in the photoshop-like-edit-window.
September 12, 201114 yr Bought it, used it, feels like a waste of money right now, to be honest... I have the idea that what I see could be done for free by fooling around with the nVidia control panel's options for color and gamma and so on... I tried Marks final because that one should solve the dark clouds, but I found out it makes everything a bit lighter...! Including the shadows! I don't see the darker shadows and more depth that's been promised (flying at 8 o'clock in the morning just to be sure). My default FSX has the same amount of shadows and depth... I tried various settings and so I do know Shade is doing its job, but apart from making EVERYTHING darker or giving it a certain hue, it doesn't give me the deeper shadows and more depth or bigger contrast I was hoping for... Maybe you have to fly at an exact day at an exact time to see the difference...? (Just to be sure I did copy day 1 to all days.) Luckily it was rather cheap... EDITJust tried the Shade default again and I do notice deeper shadows but at the cost of everything getting VERY dark and losing detail... In order to get the detail back, you have to edit everything so it looks like FSX default again or even brighter like Marks final... Odd addon. Well, you can't please everybody, I guess... EDIT 2BTW In the GUI version I noticed that when I copy Day 1 to the other days, the examples for Current FSX Value for Light and Shadows are switched on Day 7, 8 and 9. Bug...?
September 12, 201114 yr Dunno, I was pretty happy with the results I got, but as you said, can't please everyone. Plus I find it hard to imagine $10 being a waste of money by any stretch, I wish more addons were this reasonably priced.
September 12, 201114 yr I'll buy this when there's a fix for dark clouds. I love my bright fluffy bloomy clouds way too much for now.
September 13, 201114 yr ...I have the idea that what I see could be done for free by fooling around with the nVidia control panel's options for color and gamma and so on... If you do some digging, you'll see that I came to this conclusion quite a while back. Digital vibrance in the control also plays into this as well. However, at that time (the first day it was available) the user manual made no reference to the presets that were available. I thought some poor schmuck is going to have to spend a significant part of their miserable life getting a profile together because of the inability of the app to make changes on the fly. Well, Shade is noticeably better than the previously mentioned Nvidia settings when it comes to basic shadowing-I'm not really interested in tinting same for whatever reason. I'm also one of those who could never get ENB to work correctly without eventually crashing. Bojote spoke to this in a thread a long, long time ago in a flight simulator far, far away saying that there was a problem in the way the shader operated in ENB and it was just a matter of time before it would crash on any system. I'm in that group). Shade gives that contrast that ENB gave when working, sans bloom. I like it and would recommend it. Mark
September 13, 201114 yr Commercial Member Done.Enjoy your orange flag! :--) David, could you do the same for me? I feel kind of silly not asking for that earlier.

September 13, 201114 yr Commercial Member Looks like a mod for those who fly in the alps or other mountainous areas. As the netherlands is mostly flat i wont get it:(I can imagine that, coming from the Netherlands myself, but there is so much to see in the FSX world... Of course that is coming from me as a developer of which I have to test fly all area's... Maybe more important, apparently if one gets the levels right it adds a lot more perceived depth to the sim in general. I'm quite interested in this app. Thumbs up! Great to see you floating around here Anthony, Cheers, AndréLOL!!! How r ya, been a long time Andre!
