October 30, 201114 yr I have seen a lot of videos on youtube (real ones and PMDG 737NGX's videos). On the real ones there is a women voice who says sth. like "On runway 2-5 left" or "Approaching runway 25L". However, I didnt hear it in any of the PMDG 737NGX's videos? Why is this not implemented in the NGX?here is an example (can be heard at 0:41): Cheers,Ensar BI'd love for the NGX to have that. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
October 30, 201114 yr Commercial Member Sorry pete, its not my intentionSorryJust wanted to make sure you knew how to add a signature line? I realize not everyone does. It's under your account settings. Many of us post our system specs only so that when we discuss problems or technical issues/fixes and what not, others will be able to put what we say into perspective (what occurs or works on one system doesn't always occur on a different system). October 30, 201114 yr Well, here goes my first support ticket.... ever. All things considered, they are sort of minor given I can still fly the aircraft.Anyway.... anyone getting any of these???1. No FO call outs (V1, etc). Had V1 call out before SP1.2. Water will not show as Cyan despite being set, unset, set again. Worked prior to SP1.3. WIth Water as Cyan set, I did get the entire ND to display green, changed range scale and it went away. This did not occur before SP1/4. Upon starting the sim (in the Ready state), I'm still getting the sound of engines eating themselves. Darned maintenance crew left a wrench on the cowls of both engines? Sounds absolutely HORRIBLE, though it goes away after about 3 or 4 seconds.5. The engine sounds are terribly low compared to pre-SP1. I tried switching to every display I could think of and then back into the cockpit, and at some point the engine sounds came back to what they were to pre-SP1. I've also tried setting the all sounds in the CDU to 100, and toying with FSX sound settings, all to no avail. The aircraft was working very well for me pre-SP1, no problems i could detect, though I understand others were having them.I'll put a support ticket in on these issues, as they occured after two complete uninstalls (including deleting the NGX folders in the FSX root and Sim Objects, deleted all past profiles and saved flights. I also tried deleting all of the TRUSTED entries in th FSX Config, didn't make a difference. Oh, and my DLL.XML file is fine. The V1 callout that you are talking about is not a FO callout but a GPWS V1 callout. The FO callouts are an added option in SP1 and can be turned on from the CDU options. There is NO cyan water colour in the real aircraft so I would not worry about it.The sounds you are hearing are all just like the real aircraft.I'm sure PMDG will enlighten you anyway.Enjoy !!Fred. At last!...I have been waiting so long for this amazing add-on. Now it´s the time to purchase it......Thx a lot for all your effort bringing it to SP1.But I have confused about first install...Enough to install only basepack or install SP1 after base pack...The base pack now includes SP1 so you only need the one installer.Fred. Hopefully this will explain things a little more. The Honeywell EGPWS does allow for cyan water color to be displayed. I use the Collins, and pre-SP1 it allowed for cyan water. I run the Collins, and I don't know if it allows for cyan or not OR how PMDG modeled it. Further testing will tell me if cyan is working with the Honeywell. At any rate, having cyan available is realistic.Regarding the FO call outs, I understand, and have the settings applied correctly. In further testing, the call outs work properly when T/O flaps are set to 5, but not at 10. I haven't finished testing at different positions. Thanks for your time. All the best. October 30, 201114 yr I think PMDG have done an outstanding job with SP1. I must admit i was getting a little impatient for a while there, but at least now i can see where the time was needed. There has been a huge amount of work put into this SP.I have been a tad critical now and again, but i have to eat crow on this one. Well done PMDG.Regards, Rick Hobbs
October 30, 201114 yr Author Commercial Member Well, here goes my first support ticket.... ever. All things considered, they are sort of minor given I can still fly the aircraft.Anyway.... anyone getting any of these???David-I'd recommend spending some time reading before submitting them... Or you'll get a reply back suggesting that you spend some time reading...Nearly every single one of those items has been addressed here already... Robert S. October 30, 201114 yr For me, this has been the Lost Weekend, but there was no drink (or women) involved. I have finally spent some quality time with a quaility sim. I was one of those grumbling few who, from the delivery of the NGX in August, and through th various hotfixes thereafter, suffered chronic problems with panels freezes and OOMs. I'd only managed a handful of flights over the last two and a half months, and indeed, after HF4, I couldn't take off; hence, the NGX was parked up in anticipation of the SP!Now, with its arrival, it's a ;''game changer', and I can now see what most people on this forum were enthusing about all along. SInce i installed SP1 on Saturday morning, I have managed 9 faultless flights across Europe, through increasingly heavy weather and scenery systems, and the plane just purrs along. Well done to RSR and the team on a remarkable piece of software engineering. Now where did I leave that weekend?David PascoeIntel i7-870 o/c 3.6ghz, 4GB Ram, GTX460 1gb, Benq 21" Monitor, XP64
October 30, 201114 yr Commercial Member Rob,I checked for post SP1 posts, and did not see any of the issues addressed. I saw one mentioned by a customer though. Of course there are a LOT of posts, and as we all know there is not really any organization to them, which makes going through page after page pretty difficult, and I may have missed it.My point was that I did not suffer from any of these issues before SP1, and now I have them all - except that after setting flaps to 5 for takeoff, all of the FO call outs started working regardless of the flap settings on future runs. Setting flaps to 5 is the only thing that was diferent, as I'd tried numerous restarts. For the record, I believe I've been generous, open, and respectful in all of my posts in your forums, so I don't really appreciate having you send out a reply telling me to read (more than I do), especially in an open forum. In fact, if you re-read my initial post, you'll find that I praised SP1 when I said that it was my first submitted ticket and these were small issues.I look forward to a professional response to my ticket.Thanks. Be well. Dave Hodges System Specs: I9-13900KF, NVIDIA 4070TI, Quest 3, Multiple Displays, Lots of TERRIFIC friends, 3 cats, and a wonderfully stubborn wife.
October 30, 201114 yr Hi Dave,1. No FO call outs (V1, etc). Had V1 call out before SP1.Are they switched on in the FMC? Another reason could be that you are not configuring the FMC fully before takeoff.4. Upon starting the sim (in the Ready state), I'm still getting the sound of engines eating themselves. Darned maintenance crew left a wrench on the cowls of both engines? Sounds absolutely HORRIBLE, though it goes away after about 3 or 4 seconds. This has nothing to do with the engines - as already stated by others it is the sound of the cockpit rattling when the main gears hit the tarmac - we are looking into why this is playing back at startup for some customers.5. The engine sounds are terribly low compared to pre-SP1. I tried switching to every display I could think of and then back into the cockpit, and at some point the engine sounds came back to what they were to pre-SP1. I've also tried setting the all sounds in the CDU to 100, and toying with FSX sound settings, all to no avail.Engine sounds were untouched by SP1 - all engine sounds are played back by the FSX sound system and have no relation to the SP1 update.Firstly - load up the default FSX 737 or another aircraft which you know has loud engines, do you have the same issue with their engine sounds ?Secondly - go to the PMDG VC and look backwards at the cockpit door - do the engine sounds reappear?Hope that helps! October 30, 201114 yr Good afternoon. I have been trying to download the SP1 for 737NGX and cannot download. The page times out. I am wondering if this is due to the server being jammed with people downloading the patch or would it be some other issue.Rob
October 30, 201114 yr Good evening! Download works fine here, so I think it might be something either on your end or at your ISP, possibly.EDIT: thanks for the good work on the SP1!Only problem I've noticed is that, if using the low resolution VC model, it would cause massive stutters when panning around sometimes, freezing the sim for a couple of seconds, plus make the exterior model appear as a "skeleton" for about the same amount of time. After disabling the low resolution textures and low resolution model, the problem disappeared, tomorrow I'll try to see which one of the two options causes this. October 30, 201114 yr Go To your Main FSX Directory, Find SIMOBJECTS Folder - AIRPLANES Folder - PMDG 737-800NGX Folder - PANEL Folder And in the panel folder open the file panel.cfg with notepad. Scroll down until you see the following lines and replace the one line I have highlighted in red with my values. Viola your Fixed! Have Fun!Note you only have to do this once cause the other 800/900 models are aliased to this file. If you have the 600/700 Expansion pack which I don't, you probably will have to do this for the PMDG 737-600NGX Panel.cfg as well.[VIEWS]VIEW_FORWARD_WINDOWS=MAIN_PANEL,MINIPANELVIEW_FORWARD_DIR=3.100, 0.000, 0.000VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=0.8Thank God, it was that easy to fix. I just did it and all is fine. I really hate messing with the .cfg files, but it worked out well. I love this plane and I love the 2D panel. Paul Gugliotta
October 30, 201114 yr Just completed my first flight between GVAC-SBFN with SP1 installed and the a/c worked just beautiful !!
