Some things never change!

I'll spell it out once again -personal attacks are not done here at avsim. Calling people babies, not grown men, and references to pms are personal attacks. Debating and discussing flight sims in a respectfal way are not.I hope this is comprehended .

Aright guys-I am out of patience. An evaluation copy of xplane 10 was put out (since the mods post that you link and you better re read what he said) and people are evaluating it.Whether it is called a pi meson version, a beta, or a demo really changes nothing-people are evaluating and reporting back with their evaluations-why I presume an evaluation copy was put out. Some may gel with your opinion and some may not-that is how it works.Instead of addressing the evaluations, I see personal attacks on the messengers and now avsim. They say when you don't have much of a point-attack the messenger.I am going to state one last time -NO Personal attacks! Keep to the subject....and if it happens again there will be no more warnings.

IBTL...Woohoo, I'm loving the Simmer's passions. Is this a great time for Flysimmers, we have two next-gen flight sims waiting in the wings which are going to produce new ideas and new products, can't wait to see the state we are in one year from now.

Please, let's all behave so that moderators don't decide to start locking threads.If a mod locks a thread or bans someone, whether rightly or wrongly, the end result is the same, and negative for all the participants of the forum.So I'm referring especially to those of us who really love X-Plane and whose interest is keeping this forum positive, welcoming and useful for all.Marco

Yeah I am really always very sad that it comes to that....and yes I am at fault for letting this thread go to long because it should have been locked long ago. See-I am actually a fan of xplane 10...I was hoping it would work out-because it could be an important thread that would actually help xplane .

Instead of attacking the review or reviewer why not post a few things where you think he got it wrong.I'll start (and state Mike and I have never agreed on alot :-)..Mike states that the rw viewfrom an aircraft is brighter than xplane. I actually feel the opposite-I always feel the rw view looks duller, and have considered xplane superior here and with the shadows etc. is very realistic. However, possibly unknown to those not familiar with the xplane interface, there is a gamma switch which allows you to adjust to get just your idea of reality. For some reason I have to turn mine up to brighter settings than I would like for the outside scenery to see the Carenado F33 cockpit without lights on....and I'll agree with Mike-I love the look of the autogen (and I even like it at alitude) and consider it the best I've seen. However, to get a realistic level at least for me you have to put trees and buildings to the max-and that works on my system with a few settings I already posted-perhaps those reporting a sparseness need to try this. However, I agree with Mike that Seattle while it feels and looks like a nice big city doesn't feel like Seattle. One reason is that on clear days Mt. Ranier and the Olympic Mountains dwarf the city-and I can't seem to find any settings that make this happen even with the new increased visibility.The biggest one for me is the new stability in the flight model-not only is there stability but the roll rate got rid of that "rubber band" feel from past versions. Although this in the past kept me from using xplane much, it is now what is gonna probably make it my primary sim. The reality of the feel of the Carenado f33 (I owned one for 11 years so very familiar) is incredible, and the most enjoyable part of flying for me (landing) is extremely realistic-especially with some xwind or turbulence.Oh-and by the way-even though Mike and I don't always agree on everthing he is a great guy and long time simmer/reviewer. I think you will find most everyone at avsim is-and if I can put in a plug-Murmur from my past xplane dealings is also one of the most helpful and nice people around.A shot of a flight I took near olm going up Puget sound. Note the "dullness" of the ground-but Mt. Ranier can be be seen almost from anywhere...

Its not in poor taste, attacking the reviewer doesnt help the XP cause. Mike didnt belittle anyone, or use childish words like.... its sucks,..... its gay. He simply stated his opinion in which you didnt agree. Myself, woweezowee, and Geofa have stated to talk about the elements of his review. Please, will the rest of you join a good discussion about the elements of the review. A good discussion will be helpful to the XP community ..

Thanks for sharing that Geofa.The first thing is: Austin stated well in advance that XP10 will be plausible not a replica of RW.Does the sim need some improvement? For Sure!But with just this DEMO leaps have been made and after Ben gets the bugs and optimization worked out, to me it will be incredible.As far as Seattle is concerned, if it doesn't look like it no big deal to me.I'm done with any of the MSFS series, it has served it purpose.
