December 7, 201114 yr Jose, I posted that thread that you are referring to, that was deleted. Unfortunately it was removed as you are not allowed to advertise a product here, or at least, that was the reason given. LVFR Emails all members of their forums with the latest in product information, and in addition, uses our Twitter feed to reach its customers. Do you know of better ways for us to use in the future when it comes to releases? Always happy to get the name out there!Mr Schutte, do you work for LatinVFR? Johan Pettersen
December 7, 201114 yr That is true, Thrailini...And, in other news, we would like to see more Latin American Aiports. Latin America refers to countries located in the Continent of America, who has the beautiful Spanish language as their natural language. (Latin Americans)Yes I know what Latin American countries are, thank you. What makes you think I don't? And indeed, you also already said previously you want more of them. Still not really relevant to the thread though. My username is "Thralni" by the way. My real name would be "Benjamin". None of these is Thrailini, anyway...Thruster: If you want to avoid the AI plane shadow problem, I suggest you go for a fully FSX native AI product, not something like WoAI. I was a little disappointed with Tegucigalpa for the same reason. December 7, 201114 yr ...among them the photo scenery, making it more HD,...There is some nice source available at 30cm. That should keep everyone happy for a little while, despite the large DL it would entail...

Your product fills a huge void and really has amazing detailing. I am looking forward to the photo scenery updates. Alexander Alonso
December 8, 201114 yr KMIA is good on fps, but I just don't like surrounding blurry photo scenery.I am going to pull the trigger on this one but I don't like the sound of blurry photo-scenery. I have Sim Savvy Photo-real. I have KBOS by FlyTampa and and all I did was turn off the photo-secnery by changing the file to .bak. I wonder if this can be done with this part of the scenery? December 8, 201114 yr Author Moderator I purchased it the evening of its release and did a quick helicopter flight over the airport and the entire area covered. I set up the flight at night and then switched to day. My initial opinion is as follows:The GOOD:...............The Not so good (in my opinion):.................Thanks for the quick review and feedback Alexander, you touched on a lot of points I had been wondering about.I took a look at a bunch of the screen shots on the Simmarket site where the scenery is sold and noticed some of the same things regarding the photo scenery at night time. During the day it looked fine but overly bright at night with the tops of the building being lighted and colored.I was thinking that I could get it then remove all the photo files that came with it, load SBuilderX up and make my own day and night photo real for the area in which the buildings and autogen are specially placed for the external areas of the airport. However, that being said, it's kind of like turning a payware product into a do-it-yourself project which is something I kind of wanted to avoid, but I can whip up some photoreal textures in SBuilderX pretty quick it's just that getting the night textures to my liking that takes some time. The issues with the night textures on the photo real is something that I didn't care much for in the Key West scenery as well, as I thought it was way to lit up at night time, however removing the photoreal textures to just display the GEX textures in the area didn't work out because doing so created misc. autogen being displayed in the airport. BluePrint scenery is kind of the same way with their night textures they use for the photoreal and is really too bright at night and doesn't blend well with the surrounding GEX or default textures. Not a problem in some cases if you are already running MSX, MSE, Sim Saavy or other photoreal in the area since you can just delete the photoreal files that come with the airport and use the other source.Good to hear the performance is good however. That was one of my concerns as I have issues post patch with Key West and wanted to make sure KMIA wasn't as bad a performer.Guess I will sit tight for a while on KMIA and see what type of improvements are made to the photoreal and other things Richardo is working on to make it better before I get it. Worst case I can just eliminate the photoreal, autogen, and external airport buiildings and just create a quick photoreal back drop for the airport confines boardered by the surrounding roads like FSDT does. Thanks again for the input. Why not limit the Photo real to JUST the airport perimeter and let UTX/GEX do the rest, kinda like Fly Tampa and FSDT does?I much prefer the way FSDT does the photoreal portion by just using the surrounding airport roads as a border for the photoreal, however, FlyTampa has been adding photoreal way outside the borders of the airports in Buffalo, Boston and some of the other sceneries. I dont mind it, but its a lot harder to get them to blend with your stock/GEX textures. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
December 8, 201114 yr Yep, I understand your view. I am certain it is a good product. However, my discontent is with the fact that there is a large amount of products for the rest of the world; but, only a few for Latin America. If I'm going to name my company "Latin" at least I will stick as close as possible to what it means. Think about the hundreds of Latin American airports we have in Central America, Mexico, and South America. One may think there is not many buyers for that area? Nope, wrong! And, even if that were the case, I would at least develop aiports for these regions that are a noticable improvement over FSX, itself.Well you may be interested in this freeware AGS Giga Scenery, which covers all of Central America, and South America. It's similar to UTUSA type scenery, not as detailed though, but much better then default.http://forum.avsim.net/topic/287479-fsx-ags-2010-america-giga-scenery/page__p__1781096__hl__+south%20+america__fromsearch__1#entry1781096. December 8, 201114 yr Great scenery! It was a pain to download, but, as you say, nice stuff for Latin and South America.
December 9, 201114 yr Alexander, thank you for the detailed review, that was very thorough and helpful to potential customers. On a side note, there is a problem in their Key West scenery, and that is the runway landing lights don't show properly on the runway (with default aircraft). Do you know, or have you tried an airplane's landing lights? I'd like to know if they got that to work okay in KMIA.Well, now I can answer my own question. I got impatient, and bought KMIA. It does not show landing lights here either, at least not with default aircraft. The PMDG NGX shows their unique lights okay, but the normal FSX landing lights don't show up on the runway. With no update on KEYW for this problem, I wonder if we should expect an update on this issue for KMIA? Curt Branch
December 9, 201114 yr I like it and I deeply appreciate any quality release that represents a large US hub. I do most of my flying from the US to the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America so MIA is a big one for me. I have done a lot of work on my small airline AI in the Caribbean and it was great to see a lot of it come to life at MIA (one of my favorite parts about installing a new airport - seeing all of the oddball AI that I usually don't see).I agree that the surroundings have been done really well with the exception of the photo scenery. To be fair, I usually do not like photo scenery at all. It seems like the ADE may need a little work. Gates F16, 18 and 20 are a little funky. Also, I know I can remove the statics but then I have to add the parking back in. Since the static files are grouped by location, it is a little tough to figure out where they are. No developer should include statics in 2011. At best, they should be an option with a separate ADE file. Still, they did a better job on the ADE than most developers. Many high quality developers treat the ADE as more as an afterthought which requires a lot of work for the end user. The major freeware ADE authors rarely touch payware airports.
