Carenado Aircraft

Featured Replies

Have you read Ray's review?Suggest you take up the 210 inaccuracies with Ray and Bernt Stolle, the new Carenado FDE designer - he did the 337.(I believe he flies tubeliners for a living.. but Ray certainly has RW experience with 210s) :(
Either way, it's not something I would need to take up with anyone nor is it something I'm too concerned about. I don't purchase Carenado products anymore because of the countless bugs at release and inaccuracies I found in the several products I've purchased over the past 5 years (not counting the two or three latest releases, I haven't participated). I was basically miffed because an update for my issues took nearly 3 months for Carenado to address, while two new aircraft were released in that period. All the while the best fix available was from a forum member here unaffiliated with Carenado. You keep mentioning the 337 over and over. Have you tried many other Carenado products? Do you have 337 time? Just curious to get the point of view you're coming from. Especially considering the 210 and my comments have nothing to do with Bernt or the 337!By the way, what RW experience does Ray have off the top of your head? When I say I have 210 experience, I mean in the hundreds of hours. Thanks for the input, I'm trying to keep an open mind!

Hey Bernt, do you have anything to do with Carenado X_plane FDE? I wonder how they make the transition from FSX to X-Plane

Well, I really like Carenado's offerings. When I buy one, though, I do know what I am getting, and I don't expect an A2A Accusim experience. I do expect, and get, great visuals and believable FDE's, believable, that is, for someone who is not a real world pilot. And if it has been reviewed by pilots that have real world experience in that type, and gotten a thumbs up, I am happy. Even if it has not gotten a real world pilot review, if it seems believable to me, I am pretty much happy. Pretty much, anyway. But then, I fly FSX for entertainment, not for any training or proficiency requirements.ALWAYS glad to hear from real worlders, though, because of them I AM becoming more discerning. :)

I personally have a love/hate relationship with Carenado - so I do understand where you are coming from..All I can say is that the 337 is really nicely done and Bernt Stolle's FDEs are getting good reviews.. I have never flownin one, so cannot comment from personal experience.I have given up hope that Carenado will ever get any one of their planes to 99%, so I rely on various volunteerson the forums to help me through the inevitable edits that are required... but they are getting better, so I'm basicallya glass half full kind of guy!If you want to know more about Ray, ask him via PM.. he is quite approachable.. :(

I have all those addons and I agree there is a pecking order, but it varies with me and it sometimes comes full circle. My favorite light twin is the C337, my favorite Realair product is the Duke, my favorite most realistic model is the A2A Cub, my favorite SE turbine is the IRIS T6A, my favorite airliner is the PMDG 737NGX, my favorite pure floats is the Ant's Drifter, favorite floatplane C185, other favorite twin is the Twotter, newest favorite twin is the Bronco, favorite seaplane is the PBY Catalina, favorite airport S43. All subject to change.Ray

Fair enough. Thanks Ray, for humoring me.

By all means, don't "avoid" Carenado. I'm getting carried away with discussion, Diego. Apparently there's some folks doing great things with the newer Carenado releases, as evident by the other members saying so in here. Me and two other people have negative things to say. The rest is pretty darn positive.

I read that you should buy ....

no doubt, Bernt's work improved the flying feel and caranado's models are 2nd to none. 337 is a gem and for $21 (xmas sale), it was a steal.<edit mod-bad language/insult to other simmers-do it again and you are out>

I have to admit that was a funny one...and BTW Zach congrats on the CFI...it is one of the toughest to acquire in the RW...deserves a pat on the back! RW DB's...hahaaaa I never realized that earning the priveledge to fly in the real world made one a Db....what a joke these forums are sometimes

I've tried to PM you about the details concerning the various different PT6 simulations available for FSX a long time ago, but since you block my PMs I can't.
and I tend to keep it that way.. it's called choice of association
