February 29, 201214 yr I was a little skeptical of MS Flight after reading so many...."colorful" comments (lol), but I must say, it is a lot of fun. I love the GUI and the aircraft are very nicely modeled. Performance with max settings is also very good. Graphics also seem improved over other offerings. IMO, so far, this is definitley a nice addition to my Flight Sim library. It's always nice to have options, and this one ain't too shabby! February 29, 201214 yr Same here.... I LOVE the water, sharpness and overall "jumpyness" of the sim. Very FPS efficient and is an overall great experience.
February 29, 201214 yr Commercial Member Aw man - I was hoping that Flight was going to be a total flop as many have predicted! Just kidding. Can't wait to install and experience. Thanks for your feedback.Cheersjja Jim Allen[email protected]SkyPilot Software home of FSXAssist / P3DAssist
February 29, 201214 yr My 580 GTX is running at 99% load at 900Mhz. It is roaring almost as loud as my 480GTX used to! BTW, I am tweaking Flight it and it seems to like it! :good:Kind regards,
February 29, 201214 yr IMO Im 50/50 on it so far. Some parts are great and others are disappointing. Will play with it again tomorrow and see if I change my mind. CPU: Intel i9-11900K @5.2 / RAM: 64GB DDR4 3200 / GPU: 4080 16GB /
February 29, 201214 yr downloading right now, hope it'll be done tomorrow morning my time. and guess what, I even bought the hawaii expansion right away. phil Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"
February 29, 201214 yr I was also really quite impressed, especially with performance, which is stellar on my system! ... but I can't see any TrackIR support, which is a dealbreaker for me. I was about to purchase the Hawaii Mission Pack and the Maule until I saw that I could not use TrackIR. But otherwise, it's pretty impressive. February 29, 201214 yr I really like the framerate (avg 110 FPS with all settings maxxed), I miss TrackIR and am really surprised the final version doesn't support it, which is making it hard for me to enjoy the sightseeing... jury still out on the scenery until I fly it some more... --John near KPAE
February 29, 201214 yr This is not the final version. This is the release build. I'm expecting that we'll be seeing fairly regular updates. This build (v.1.0.0.30016) supposedly has 759 bug fixes/changes/additions over what we were beta testing. One of the issues that many beta testers complained about was the limited button and axis assignments available. This has now been expanded quite a bit (still not quite there yet, but much better) . . . in the Beta version, we couldn't even assign mixture and prop rpm to an axis, and now we can. I would expect that TrackIR will be supported before too long. ~ Arwen ~ Home Airfield: KHIE
February 29, 201214 yr One of the issues I have run into is assigning my toe breaks on my Saitek Pedals.
February 29, 201214 yr Thanks Arwen, I wasn't part of the beta so good to know, indeed hoping TrackIR support comes in sooner than later as it is very hard to get used to flying without it.Also I noticed there was no axis support on brakes or trim so based on your comments about prop and mixture being recent additions, hopefully those others will come too. --John near KPAE

I don't have TrackIR (yet), but a LOT of beta testers asked for TrackIR support, so MS knows that we want it. I asked repeatedly for a LOT of things; one of which was the ability to set the controls to a non-linear curve (as my Saitek X52 is way too sensitive in Flight). I'm still waiting for this to be added. The brakes actually feel more sensitive in the release build than they were in the last beta build (they were like this BEFORE they were fixed). Even when you pull back on the stick when braking, the Stearman wants to do a nose plant when you use the brakes. The trim is too course in the button assignments. If you use the mouse wheel to adjust the trim from the cockpit trim wheel, it advances in 1 degree increments ~ Arwen ~ Home Airfield: KHIE

Using an Xbox controller, the planes and the controller almost seem like extensions of each other. The slightest movement of your thumb and the plane smoothly responds. We are all connected..... February 29, 201214 yr They do almost or truly fly better with an Xbox controller or mouse. Least that was my experience in the past. I never could get the planes to trim correctly using a yoke a trim button. too course of settings. ArDee
