March 3, 201214 yr I have always been searching for a perfect prop-plane in FSX since I like a lot sight-seeing VFRs in FSX. I normally take Extra S300 for this job because it's nimble, fast and have a pretty nice open view. However, I strongly dislike two things about S300. First it's a tail dragger that to me offers much less fun for taking-off and landing. Second, 300's wings are positioned too much at the front of fuselage, blocking a large chunk of sideview outside. My dream cockpit for sight-seeing would be sth like F-16's in which one gets a fantastic view in almost any direction. You almost feel you're floating right in the air. The problem is that F-16 is a jet not really for flying slow and low (it's also awfully wasteful that one flies a $20M jet just for sight-seeing!).So ideally I want sth comparable to S300, but is not a tail-dagger and has wings way behind on fuselage. It'll be great that it also has some routine IFR functions just like FSX default 172. Of course, nice flight modeling is a huge plus too.I looked at the Carenado website but based on the screenshots it looks like none of those gorgeous planes could fit the bill. Would love to hear any suggestions, either payware or freeware. 9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11

March 4, 201214 yr I totally agree about the RV7... but the Hershey bar wings block a lot of the ground, that's why I didnt recommend it.... | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 4, 201214 yr Wowww Bay Tower RV7A looks great, I didn't know it is exist though. I need to buy that !But for suggestion, I still insist on Katana 4x if you aren't an experienced simmer. Because it is slow, and best tool for learning VFR flights. Salim Coban
March 4, 201214 yr http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=f1t182tIf your computer can handle the most advanced flat panel g1000 system for a sim. Turbo is very nice for sightseeing from short strips in the mountains.I like the bells and whistles of the T182.Matt
March 4, 201214 yr Another vote for the Baytower RV7(A). I'm a bit biased though, as I've done a lot of sightseeing in an RV6A. The Baytower has nose or taildragger gear options. I like these planes, because you can get there fast, and then slow down when you're there.Pic: Looking down over the Hershey wing (RV6A). Confluence of the Colorado & Green Rivers. March 4, 201214 yr Aerosoft's OV-10 is exactly what you're looking for.I would agree with that, great view from that aircraft and you can get in and out of small strips...G Gary Davies aka "Gazzareth" Simming since 747 on the Acorn Electron
