March 5, 201214 yr I would suggest A2A Piper Cub. It is a taildragger, but You can step on brakes, advance the throttle to ~1800-2000 rpm and it is not a taildragger anymore :)Plus, it only flies fast in huge tailwinds... Bartłomiej Ender
March 5, 201214 yr Aerosoft's Bronco has the best view, but is a handful to fly! Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
March 5, 201214 yr Commercial Member If you can find it, the Lionheart FSX Bellanca Viking is what you wantAlExactly the one I use except the Turbo model. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
March 5, 201214 yr I would add to the recommendations:Ants Aircraft P92 Eaglett,Ants Aircraft Drifter Ultralight,The Rutan 61 "Long EZ" from Alphasim (now Virtavia),Aerosoft H36 Dimona (wings are long as it's glider derived, but they're also v.thin).:) David. >> i7 2600k, 3.4Ghz, (3.8Ghz TurboBoost), 8GB DDR3 RAM, ATI HD 5770 1GB, Win 7 Home Premium 64bit. >> FSX, REX, GEX, UTX, Orbx FTX AU, NZ, US, FlyTampa, UK2000 Xtreme, PMDG, RealAir, MilViz, (some) Carenado, Flight 1, Simcheck "%20alt=
July 25, 201213 yr I liked the RealAir Lancair Legacy but lately I've been using the FSD Cirrus SF-50. Lots of glass for the cockpit so lots of sightlines, low FPS so I can set the scenery lvl's very high, quiet, and fast when needed. I've been following a Point of Interest flight plan I found at http://www.simforums.com/forums/the-north-american-sightseeing-tour_topic32843.html and the SF-50 works well. Its also cheap but then again, its probably not as realistic as FSD other products like their P38. July 25, 201213 yr The katana, bronco, 337 are all great VFR models. But nothing beats nape of the earth flying over orbx pmw in a helicopter. Great viz all around and can land wherever to checkout the scenery details. Cera222 and 412 look and fly great. Not too fast ~120kts but feels fast flying just above the terrain. July 25, 201213 yr What the others have said, although I admit I am partial to the RV-7 and the Carenado 337 for sightseeing.
July 25, 201213 yr If you can find it, the Lionheart FSX Bellanca Viking is what you wantAl Hello Al The FSX Bellanca, for reasons known only to the developer is no longer available. I have no idea why he would do this as it always worked fine for me with the exception of a couple of click spots (map ect)
July 25, 201213 yr I've been flying the freeware Erco Ercoupe 415C for a while now. Maybe not the best but worth checking out. scott s. .
July 26, 201213 yr Sightseeing rules out low wing...I'd go with Carenado 337 or 210 The Carenado 337 is probably the best overall high-wing VFR aircraft for FSX. It is unique because it is a twin with traditional single-engine, high-wing visibility, so it is decently quick when needed. Very nice flight model too. Shane Gavin
July 26, 201213 yr Agree with above especially OV-10 and C-337! I'm a real life fixed wing pilot, but taught myself to fly rotary wing FSX default R-22 and Bell-206 helicopters which was a challenge. But at the end of the day, they really provided the low/medium speed, altitude and hovering positions I was looking for in my best detailed scenery packages. IMO! July 26, 201213 yr All of the above are very good! I'll check out the Baytower RV-7A myself. Tomaz Drnovsek My FSX Videos My AVSIM Gallery
July 26, 201213 yr All of the above, but might I suggest the Lionheart WT9 Dynamic? http://www.lionheartcreations.com/Dynamic.html
July 26, 201213 yr +1 for the Legacy. My personal sightseeing favourites are the Realair Legacy, Ant's Tecnam Eaglet, Carenado's C337 and the A2A accusimmed Cub. All have nice visibility and they're a nice mix of fast and slow (with a twin thrown in !) Neil Burgess
