April 18, 201214 yr Fullscreen only for me. I find it ruins immersion to have title bars and things on the screen, and I also get better performance than in windowed mode. I have a laptop next to me when flying for doing whatever.
April 19, 201214 yr Full screen for me (1920 x 1200). Frames/Sec higher by 15+ frames in full screen versus windowed on my system.
April 19, 201214 yr Full Screen and never switch out of FSX. I have a laptop on the side if I need to check for a chart or map or something else (like AVSIM). Cheers +1 Giorgio Nicola www.flyafa.com
April 19, 201214 yr No, because I use charts on another PC (using Synergy+) - so I need to run windowed mode... sometimes I'll browse the net on a longer flight. And because my fps are better and from what I can see stutters less in windowed mode. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

April 19, 201214 yr Have you tried DisablePreload=1 (rather than set to 0)? This helps with alt-tab switching. Randall
April 19, 201214 yr Full screen for me. I get better frame rates with full screen. I have the outside view on 1080p monitor and 2d panels on a smaller 1080p monitor. Sometimes I use just one of the monitors and fly with the virtual cockpit. BTW I've been wondering what would happen if the screens were not the same resolution.
April 19, 201214 yr WIndowed so I can see FS Commander and anything else I want on monitor #2. I know of the little bat file that enables full screen and use another monitor, but I'm too lazy or habituated to use it. cheers, i7-9700K, MSI Z370, PNY 4070 Super, GTX 750Ti, 32GB GSkill, 43" curved Samsung, 32" BenQ, 11" LED, RealSImGear GTN750, Win10, P3DV5.4/P3DV6 and MSFS, several GoFlight modules, Saitek radio, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Virtual Fly TQ6.
April 19, 201214 yr Windowed mode(pause on task switch disabled) so I can enter the route in fmc, read terminal and weather charts, checking the metar on destination and for surfing the web during long flights. | AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Windsor 2.8GHz | Gigabyte M52S-S3P v1 | GForce 8600GT 512MB | 3 GB DDR2 @ 800Mhz | 320 GB HDD | DELL U2311H 23″ | WinXp sp3 x86 |
April 23, 201214 yr Commercial Member Full screen only; I put everything I need in the kneeboard. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
April 23, 201214 yr Fullscreen here too! It runs s lot smoother for me. I use a second monitor for the 2D popups (GPS, overhead, etc.)

I know of the little bat file that enables full screen and use another monitor, but I'm too lazy or habituated to use it. cheers, Lol how can you be too lazy, you just make a .bat which opens both FSX and the fake-fullscreen.exe (and all your other programs!!) and run that instead of shortcut to FSX John doe
April 23, 201214 yr Lol how can you be too lazy, you just make a .bat which opens both FSX and the fake-fullscreen.exe (and all your other programs!!) and run that instead of shortcut to FSX I know, right? Pitiful. After posting, however, I realized the ridiculousness of it, found the file and now am running full screen (mostly)... best, i7-9700K, MSI Z370, PNY 4070 Super, GTX 750Ti, 32GB GSkill, 43" curved Samsung, 32" BenQ, 11" LED, RealSImGear GTN750, Win10, P3DV5.4/P3DV6 and MSFS, several GoFlight modules, Saitek radio, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Virtual Fly TQ6.
April 23, 201214 yr Full screen with a networked laptop where I run AS2012, Aivlasoft EFB, xPax, IvAp...very happy with this setup!
April 23, 201214 yr I run fullscreen because I feel that the immersion factor is much greater. I don't want to see the rest of my desktop...
