April 28, 201214 yr Moderator I am sure it's going to be another Boeing...We need more Boeings-- not enough Boeings out there...As to Airbuses, well...NO...PMDG wouldn't want to fail as everyone else has...Airbuses takes more than some pretty little painted graphics...An Airbus requires some serious engineering ! Just my 6 cents. (lol) And someone out there is too scared to even try! I think it would be safe to say that PMDG would generally be considered the "smartest guys in the room" so to speak and with the most available resources to turn out a complete a/c, that if they were to attempt an Airbus, they would probably be the ones who would be apt to do the best job considering what is able to be accomplished within FSX. Your analogy about the pretty painted graphics would probably apply more to CaptSim who is known for the great looking VC's but sometimes lacking systems or problematic systems. April 28, 201214 yr Commercial Member I think I remember PMDG mentioning they were going to do a Dash 8 and 777. This is just before the NGX came out. Are they still going to do the Dash 8? www.antsairplanes.com
April 28, 201214 yr Dash 8 is supposedly 'on the back burner'. How far back it is on the back burner it is is open to speculation. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 28, 201214 yr I'm still holding out for that Majestic Dash, though being the later Q400. Won't be that cheap I guess, but I think the guys are up for something amazing. So that 'back burner' may not be that much of a problem when it comes to a nice and current Dash in FSX.
April 28, 201214 yr I think I remember PMDG mentioning they were going to do a Dash 8 and 777. This is just before the NGX came out. Are they still going to do the Dash 8? Yes I too recall that this was on the agenda after the 777.... Al Stiff
April 28, 201214 yr Nobody ever said the PMDG 777 would be released in the summer, it's not even in beta yet. Expect it by the end of the year. Then the DC-6, then the remake of the 747, then the Dash. By that time it's almost the end of 2013
April 28, 201214 yr To be completely accurate in that assessment however, he said they were doing two big Boeings, i.e. the 747 and the 777, and then something else, no mention of it not being a Boeing, and the 787 is not a big Boeing, it is a mid sized twin, thus nothing that was said indicated that it was off the agenda. I'm not suggesting we'll see a 787 in a very short while, but I reckon we will see one eventually, it is, after all, their area of expertise. Your focusing on the wrong part of the phrase. Its the "something really nice up our sleeves after that.." that is the more pertinent part of the phrase. As has been correctly stated in this thread, the 787 is the next logical choice after the 777/747. But if you have something 'up your sleeve' that implies a surprise , something different, unexpected. The 787 would neither be a surprise nor be seen as something different from PMDG. I agree they will do a 787 eventually, I'm just saying it will not be directly after the 777/747, I think they would prefer to wait until the 787 is more commonly seen at airports as a lesson learned from their MD11. Regards. Ernie.
April 28, 201214 yr Ernie, would your outfit consider making a more upscale 757 and the 767 family to boot? For the 757, Probably not, we will make some improvements and add some functionality for SP3, but the core functionality will remain. The 767-300 addon market is already crowded, but a 767-400 is not out of the question , I'm surprised no-one has done that variant yet. I don't think QW would try and produce all the 767 variants like we did the 757 but rather do the one variant that hasn't been done yet. But we really haven't looked beyond our current projects yet, our plate is full right now. Regards. Ernie.
April 28, 201214 yr They are also doing a DC-6 http://forum.avsim.n...e-is-a-classic/ I will pick up the 777. The majority of the realistic 747 routes are 8+ hours, so I will not be getting this one. Dont like flying aircraft that aren't flown any longer, so I will skip the DC-6 as well. I am sure the 777 fun will cover the loss of the other two :Big Grin:
April 28, 201214 yr Dont like flying aircraft that aren't flown any longer, so I will skip the DC-6 as well. There are around 150 surviving DC-6 around the world, of which, about fifty are still airworthy. This means there are more surviving examples of the DC-6 than the total number of BAe J-41 Jetstreams which were even built. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 28, 201214 yr PMDG mentioned in the past that they would do a Dash 8. They said the team that did the J41 was going to do a Dash 8. Not sure what happened with that one. I would really like a Dash 8 aircraft as that one has not been given a lot of attention in FSX. Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me

I would really like a Dash 8 aircraft as that one has not been given a lot of attention in FSX. In my opinion PMDG making Dash 8 would be waste of time when there is already another high quality Dash 8-Q400 coming from Majestic Software, which based on their old already released Dash 8-Q300 and information from coming product is just as good as PMDG in terms of system modeling. Their Dash8-Q300 is even used by some real pilots to prepare for testing with real training simulators. Its old though, doesn't look very amazing graphically, but probably their Q400 will have also that area done well.
April 28, 201214 yr After the 777, i would like to think that this will happenBut i think 1. 747(s) 2. DC6 ( unless that's before the 777, i forget) 3. The Dash 8 4. Another Classic(Pleasssssseeeee DC4 or electra....) 5. 787 6. CRJ/ERJ ( either) 7.Another Boeing(maybe a Boeing classic, like the 377  ) 8. Who knows.... -ANDY GREENFlight Diary Account : http://flightdiary.net/SpeedBird7735 Hours experience in Grob 115, 30 minutes in Grob 102 10 Hours in Grob 109 PLUS SOLO! 23rd November 2013!
