May 4, 201214 yr If we consider only depth of simulation and system moddeling what would be the most advanced airliner available for FSX (or FS9)? In what way and how does it rise over its competitor? If we look into the future could a new winner be coming? Any candidates?
May 4, 201214 yr Any of the PMDG offerings, or Lago Maddog MD 80 would be tops in depth for me. They include electrical, system fault logic and various other system "simulations". That all on top of renowed flight modeling, sounds and quality (although the Maddog is graphically aged). Future? The PMDG 777 in the pipelines should be stellar. There is also the Flight Sim Labs A320 in development which is supposed to be a contender for simulation depth. Beyond who knows...
May 4, 201214 yr FS Labs Concorde X is worthy of consideration as well. Let's face it, if you like in depth simulations there is lots to keep you busy for many many years. Mark CYYZ
May 4, 201214 yr A2A Boeing 377 Stratocruiser, PMDG 737 NG, Leonardo MD-80, Majestic Dash, FSL Concorde and probably FSL's A320 when that comes out later this year, as well as PMDG's 777 and DC-6, also probably due this year. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
May 4, 201214 yr Commercial Member Lets not forget Majestic Software Dash 8-Q400, if looking for bit smaller scale airliner to fly. Its going to be full system simulation, and actually going to calculate flight dynamics outside FSX according their forum. Their Dash 8-Q300 was already impressive as system simulation although its graphically very outdated, but probably Q400 will be good in that area too. The Q300 more expensive version with some failure related systems & failure generator added has been actually used by some real pilots to prepare on tests made using real training simulators.
May 4, 201214 yr Currently there isn't anything that can surpass the PMDG NGX in terms of realism, across any of the flight sim platforms. There's plenty of reasons why if you search the net and/or check out the YT vids... Some of my favorite reasons: Terrain + VSD Collimated HGS (HUD) | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 4, 201214 yr The PMDG 737 NGX hands down is the most realistic airliner ever produced for the Microsoft ESP platform. :Big Grin:
May 4, 201214 yr I agree with the Maddog, it simulates more than the NGX but the graphics are getting dated. Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict

May 4, 201214 yr Engine hot starts, starter failure, engine cooling, engine and airframe icing, weather radar, etc etc Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
May 4, 201214 yr Author The PMDG 737 NGX hands down is the most realistic airliner ever produced for the Microsoft ESP platform. :Big Grin: What about FSX instead of ESP? Does it change anything? Many candidates has been proposed. Many was expected. But I didn't expect the Concorde X. In what way does it arise above the others? Regarding the others my impression is that A2A products clearly rise above others in regard of realism. So what about the Stratocruise B377 as a winner in the final contest? It might be somewhat tricky the pick a final winner since the planes suggested are of very different type. Old B377 vs modern 737NGX vs a supersonic Concorde. On the other hand which plane has the best chance of being realistically simulated within FS?
