June 20, 201213 yr Yes, and my AES credits now lie unused. It would be nice, however, for it to control jetways. Another minor thing is that the sound loop for exiting passengers seems to play a repeating "yelp", as though someone trod on a puppy, or slapped a small child. Petraeus
June 20, 201213 yr Indeed, the boarding/deboarding sounds are -the least I can say- annoying, but they can be stopped or modified quite easily as they're simple wavs. Haven't done it, but the more I use it the more I'm tempted :Just Kidding: George Golas ---------------------- I hate gravity!
June 20, 201213 yr I use both. Yes, no moving jetways with GSX. For added realism, GSX forces you to know about the gate. With AES, one just pulls up to any gate and either a marshaler or automation guides you in. In GSX, one must first select the appropriate gate (size) for your aircraft. The GSX menu helps there, and it also points out which gates are busy with other aircraft and for how long. Best part about these products is that we now have competition. I understand that GSX may have moving jetways in the future. Hope AES continues to improve. Best thing AES could do is change its credits-based approach. dv Win 10 Pro || i7-8700K || 32GB || ASUS Z370-P MB || NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11Gb || 2 960 PRO 1TB, 840 EVO My Files in the AVSIM Library
June 20, 201213 yr Ok, so to turn off the annoying sounds all you have to do is delete the files? Also, can anyone answer my other question about the pushback? ^ This and I'll buy it today! i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
June 20, 201213 yr Ok, so to turn off the annoying sounds all you have to do is delete the files? Also, can anyone answer my other question about the pushback? ^ This and I'll buy it today! Pushback is easy, and as said before beautifully accurate since it uses the airport's AFCAD. All you do is bring up the GSX in-game menu, select "Prepare for pushback and departure" and it will ask if you want to be pushed to the left or to the right. Easy as that! Kyle Regards,Kyle
June 20, 201213 yr GSX includes an exception file where you can disable its features at those airports. So for the AES enabled airports, I disable GSX and AES works good. At other airports, GSX will do the work. With GSX, you have to select the gate at which you want to park and Follow-me car, if you choose to have it, will take you there. In AES, the marshaller will appear at the gate you pull into, but with GSX only at the gate you select. Also, since GSX works with the existing AFCADs at all airports, sometimes the Marshaller will be inside the buildings when the gates are very close :D Charan KumarFSX/XPX vPilotVATSIM ZOA and Oceanic Controller (Pacific) Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Thanks Kyle. That clears up a whole lotta questions for me. What about the NGX's Pushback option on the FMC? That's not needed/used, right? i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB

June 20, 201213 yr Correct, not needed. The GSX pushback is brilliant! Thanks Lukas, and about the annoying passengers sound, all you have to do is delete the WAV or make your own according to George, right? Maybe I could get sounds of passengers boarding from a YouTube video. That would be AWESOME! Does FSDT allow this? i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB

Maybe I could get sounds of passengers boarding from a YouTube video. That would be AWESOME! Does FSDT allow this? Sorry, I've got no clue if that would work or not :) Best is to either wait for another to come in and tell you, or just try it, see if it works. I suppose it would work fine given it's just a matter of swapping wav files, but again. Not sure. GSX is worth it! It's a great piece of software! Lukas "TIN TIN -=9th Shrek=-" Mathijsen
June 20, 201213 yr Also, Bob Scott uploaded replcement WAVs to the AVSIM library as the default sounds are a bit mechanical. I don't know if you have FS2Crew, but that add on has its own boarding sounds so I let those play and skip the boarding phase in GSX. I think there is an update somewhere to the boarding WAV as well. I cannot recall where though. I'm guessing if it just calls for a wav file to play, you could rename the WAV of the youtube video to the wave that GSX calls. "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma
June 20, 201213 yr There is on the forums some user submitted sounds for boarding. FSDT has no problem with you editing it. They actually in fact help people on the forums answering questions on how to do it. I have done the same, I added a couple minutes of a live boarding I got off YouTube. June 20, 201213 yr I'm buying GSX right now! I bought it from the "from the web" button, and I'm downloading the installer right now. Thanks everyone! Edited June 20, 201213 yr by linux731 i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
