June 19, 201213 yr Hi guys. I'm considering jumping on FSDT's GSX.. The $40 price point makes me worried, however.. Is it worth the money? Martin Harasimowicz
June 19, 201213 yr It has been for me. I really enjoy the additional ground activity around the aircraft. You get: a Marshaller Belt loaders (or the Commnader loaders for wide bodies (dinosaurs we called them)) Catering trucks Fueling trucks A push back that puts you on the taxi line everytime (in my experience) Simulated sounds of an aircraft being loaded (even if it is a bit repetitve) Follow me vehicle Free Updates Works with almost all aircraft to varying degrees (check the official site for the list) Works with all airports at no additional cost So if you are a person who appreciates immersion of the whole experience then you should enjoy GSX. June 19, 201213 yr In answer to your question, IMO yes! June 19, 201213 yr Absolutely!! Works just about everywhere! Aerosoft airports, default airports, orbx, fly tampa, you name it! Has very very little impact on framerates and it brings a whole new level of realism on the ground, very enjoyable! Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
June 19, 201213 yr Yup, well worth having, works everywhere you fly, it's a one stop shop for more realism. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 19, 201213 yr Was? You make it sound like the past :)...Ah you mean the money spent on it, of course, very well worth it. June 20, 201213 yr Yes, 100% worth it. No matter where you fly, you will always have the added realism and ease of ground crews. From the eye candy like the catering trucks to the very helpful and useful pushback and marshaller features, GSX is a great purchase. Best regards, happy flying, Wallace
June 20, 201213 yr What about the gates at add on airports like fly tampa do they still work? John Bauer
June 20, 201213 yr A push back that puts you on the taxi line everytime (in my experience) How does it work? From the add-ons menu? Simulated sounds of an aircraft being loaded (even if it is a bit repetitve) I saw this on the demo. Can you turn it off? i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
June 20, 201213 yr Yeah, would like to know that also. I've got quite some AES credits utilised at a lot of addon airports and I don't mind giving up AES functionality in favour of GSX, but would like to keep the moving gates. Regards, Frank van der Werff
June 20, 201213 yr Yes, 100% worth it! It's great. Regarding the sounds of the airplane being loaded: I thought I'd read somewhere that if you delete a sound file it should dissapear. Not 100% sure on that though, best to check the GSX forums. Lukas "TIN TIN -=9th Shrek=-" Mathijsen
June 20, 201213 yr For what i have seen using it, GSX does not modify the airports you use, so i believe if you had moving gates you still use them. I have used GSX with ORBX and the moving gates no problems. I also use MCE so i have one voice control for First Officer, ATC and now GSX... As soon as i land and exit active runway, i am presented with the gSX menu, i choose gate and request follow me vehicle, simple. If i have just loaded FSX, as soon as i fire up MCE it starts comms with GSX so i can request catering, boarding, refueling, pushback, etc. The pushback feature is wonderful, all it does is read the afcad of the airport, it pushes you right along the centre of the apron onto the taxiway in the direction you requested, no more pushback to the grass or into buildings!! June 20, 201213 yr Yes! I use it together with AES. Then do you disable the ground handling features of AES? (leaving only the gate active?) Regards, Frank van der Werff
June 20, 201213 yr You can leave only the front left door active for AES in order to use it with jetways. For anything elde GSX is almost perfect. The main issues come in dense areas where vehicles may drive through your plane or buildings, but I usually don't stay out of the plane looking at the vehicles instead of doing the preflight... All in all it's definitely worth its price! George Golas ---------------------- I hate gravity!
