July 6, 201213 yr Objectsize the smaller this number the more lights you will get the initial install size was 350 this is mine at the moment. There is 4 of them that can be changed to what you want the smaller the size the more hit on your computer.These changes are at the very end of your Terrain.cfg file // Medium road light [Autogen.3.2.0] guid={81F596DE-70CF-DC43-BFCC-6F64A456DB23} LegacyId=3 AutoObject={5d7cd342-761d-4ceb-9814-66c5c76eb010} (ag_light) ObjectSize=150 ExclusionWidth=50 Offset=10 Density=100 MinAutogenDensity=40 PlaceOnWater=No RandomHeading=No // Small highway light [Autogen.4.3.0] guid={1D64764E-9F03-894D-AA40-847233974C2C} LegacyId=4 AutoObject={2ddb04f6-5f14-4f6b-8d05-5eea3c18d8da} (ag_light) ObjectSize=150 ExclusionWidth=50 Offset=15 Density=100 MinAutogenDensity=20 PlaceOnWater=No RandomHeading=No // Large highway light [Autogen.5.3.0] guid={079F0A35-198F-AC4B-B5BF-BD27A1462736} LegacyId=5 AutoObject={2ddb04f6-5f14-4f6b-8d05-5eea3c18d8da} (ag_intenseghlight) ObjectSize=150 ExclusionWidth=50 Offset=15 Density=100 MinAutogenDensity=20 PlaceOnWater=No RandomHeading=No // Large divided highway light [Autogen.6.4.0] guid={24A157E8-59BA-7748-AB32-7A688036A873} LegacyId=6 AutoObject={2ddb04f6-5f14-4f6b-8d05-5eea3c18d8da} (ag_intenselight) ObjectSize=150 ExclusionWidth=50 Offset=15 Density=100 MinAutogenDensity=20 PlaceOnWater=No RandomHeading=No Rich Sennett

July 7, 201213 yr Richard. None of those entries are in my Terrain.cfg. So I just cut pasted yours at the end of my cfg. But it doesn't look like it chaned anything...they my night scenery looks pretty much the sames as it was before I made the change. Atleast it didn't error on me Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
July 7, 201213 yr Manny thats because its not installed properly go back over it uninstall it and reinstall it dont paste mine until its installed properly, then you only change the objectsize entries to what you wish. I'll be here let me know. Rich Sennett
July 8, 201213 yr Is this addon worth getting ? I already have utx. Will it add anything to the immersion factor ? Thanks
July 8, 201213 yr Manny thats because its not installed properly go back over it uninstall it and reinstall it dont paste mine until its installed properly, then you only change the objectsize entries to what you wish. I'll be here let me know. Oh you are talking about these ExperienceX ? I don't have this. Ha Ha! My question was generally about street lights and how to reduce the size! LOL :) I am now considering getting ExperienceX 1) If I can made mods the street lights then I probably should consider getting this. BTW... Would I be able to use any halo.bmp? (I believe this is yes) 2) Can I completely get rid of UT Roads and lighjting and would this give me the stree lighting on its own? (I believe this yes) 3) Can I change the color and type of lights on my own with substitution my own halo.bmp? Thanks (I believe this is also yes) 4) Would this work with VFR UK? Since they don't have night texture..atleast my version does not, but i believe it has roads with cars on em. Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
July 9, 201213 yr Alain pointed me out to this thread.. I always shoot my vids with an HD cam. No bloom, no dx10.. etc.. Here's some unedited inflight screenies.. Go to terrain.cfg.. Back up original... Reduce "Object size".. gives you more light.. I have to reduce autogen to dense but you get a lot more night lighting.. Original objectsize is 350, here's where mine is set.. // Small road light [Autogen.2.1.0] guid={B4011B59-8B6B-C446-B79D-A9DA97AC3C05} LegacyId=2 AutoObject={5d7cd342-761d-4ceb-9814-66c5c76eb010} (ag_light) ObjectSize=155 ExclusionWidth=50 Offset=10 Density=100 MinAutogenDensity=20 PlaceOnWater=No RandomHeading=No // Medium road light [Autogen.3.2.0] guid={81F596DE-70CF-DC43-BFCC-6F64A456DB23} LegacyId=3 AutoObject={5d7cd342-761d-4ceb-9814-66c5c76eb010} (ag_light) ObjectSize=150 ExclusionWidth=50 Offset=10 Density=100 MinAutogenDensity=40 PlaceOnWater=No RandomHeading=No // Small highway light [Autogen.4.3.0] guid={1D64764E-9F03-894D-AA40-847233974C2C} LegacyId=4 AutoObject={2ddb04f6-5f14-4f6b-8d05-5eea3c18d8da} (ag_light) ObjectSize=155 ExclusionWidth=50 Offset=15 Density=100 MinAutogenDensity=20 PlaceOnWater=No RandomHeading=No // Large highway light [Autogen.5.3.0] guid={079F0A35-198F-AC4B-B5BF-BD27A1462736} LegacyId=5 AutoObject={2ddb04f6-5f14-4f6b-8d05-5eea3c18d8da} (ag_intenseghlight) ObjectSize=155 There's an update coming to give an option with more night lighting.. This is just the initial release.. Great pictures! One thing I noticed is that it appears that the lights go far into the distance. With these lights and UTX I can't get them any farther than a couple mile radius around the aircraft. It looks like your lights cover the entire cityscape. Did you do anything to accomplish this?? Thanks, Phil
July 15, 201213 yr Just wanted to add a note about the amazing customer service that comes with this package--exchanged emails with the developer to get the lights working with UTX roads. He tweaked my terrain.cfg several times until it worked. Amazing responsiveness; I'm really impressed and would easily recommend the product. UTX Europe or North America with these lights is really something, and with virtually no FPS hit (unlike UTX's own lights). James

I still don't understand how it works now. You installed the product, tweaked it and disabled utx lights ?
July 15, 201213 yr Here are some "after" pictures of New York City--you can see that the highways clearly have larger yellow lights in contrast to the smaller white lights spread through the populated areas. Before the tweaks the highways were barely showing any lights, even after disabling UTX night lights. The terrain.cfg tweaks by the developer fixed the problem. James

Is there a summary of all of the changes required to achieve this? I got lost after a while. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. July 15, 201213 yr So these screenshots are with UTX night lights On and ExperienceX ontop, aren't they? Thanks, Dirk.
July 15, 201213 yr Dirk, no, these are just ExperienceX, with the UTX lights disabled entirely. The underlying road data comes from UTX, though. Greg, it wasn't actually that complicated from my point of view--I installed Experience X, disabled UTX night lighting, found that highway lights weren't showing to my satisfaction, and contacted the developer. At his request I sent my terrain.cfg, which he modified and sent back. I still wasn't happy, so he re-edited it and sent it back. This time the highway lights were working as shown above. James
