July 15, 201213 yr Or maybe you don't have other lives. Because you know oh so much about me. - Luke Pabari
July 15, 201213 yr For the people with .6, are your N2 readings showing? Mine aren't no matter what state of operation the engine is in...
July 15, 201213 yr I don't really see what the argument is about here? Surely if you want a T7 in FSX you want one that's done accurately? Or is there some section of the market I'm unaware of which value. and like to pay, for inferior products? Captain Sim's "CIP" idea would be fine if they actually charged decent prices. You should not have to pay $10 less for the CS 777 than the PMDG NGX - $30 less would be a logical price until they actually finish the product (if they actually do). Luke Harvest
July 15, 201213 yr Guys, what the hell? Stop it already. To those who actually have the 777, how is the overhead panel? I saw a preview and it shows that a lot of buttons are operative, but are there any that are not? i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
July 15, 201213 yr Can these topics PLEASE be moved to the Captain Sim Forum? Do we have to hear about every new beta release?
July 16, 201213 yr Guys, what the hell? Stop it already. To those who actually have the 777, how is the overhead panel? I saw a preview and it shows that a lot of buttons are operative, but are there any that are not? Hello Linux, I have not done any cold starts with this software yet however, it appears that all the overhead buttons work with the exception of the dome lighting switches. The resolution and lighting of the overhead panel is exeptional. On the 757 the fonts of the switches were very poor, not with this baby is all very HD! The electronic flight bag could be very useful. I hear people are already placing their own maps into the software to display them within the EFB, this is very easy to do. I don't think there will ever be a large data base of maps available to download. I expect you will find users that will start posting their own map configurations in the library for use with this plane however, we then enter into the realm of copyright. How useful this EFB will be, only time will tell. I have not tried the FMC yet, I do not know how functional it is. Pressing the buttons appears to display what one would expect to see in terms of programing. I will be trying some VOX ATC flight with this plane shortly. I am a little confused with the auto pilot and need to do some reading on it. When selected, airports do not appear on the Navigational display and the range button etc does not function at the moment. The aircraft is easy and nice to fly, it has bitten me a couple of times for flying to slowly! I am not sure about the authenticity of the stall warnings and there is no over bank warnings at the moment. BRGDS charles N2 gauge does not display any data at this time of writing.
July 16, 201213 yr Are you happy with the night lighting, Charles? Did that improve over older releases like the 757?
July 16, 201213 yr Are you happy with the night lighting, Charles? Did that improve over older releases like the 757? Here are some photographs, two different states of night lighting on the OHP are illustrated. Full control over the night lighting is not implemented yet, the dome switches do not appear to work. I think it looks pretty "cool" to me. Notice the wing flex on the model. This is the best wing animation I have ever seen. The flexation is very smooth and fluid and not stiff and jerky like on the 757. The wing responds nicely to abrupt pitch changes and bends in a life-like way. Some of the cockpit sounds have TSS prefixes, I guess they have come from Turbine Sound Studios. There is no TSS prefix to the engine sounds however, they do sound like they are from the TSS studio, they sound very good in my opinion. July 16, 201213 yr I guess you are right on the TSS source of the sounds. At least that's what the CS site states as features. Makes sense to use one from a sound pro. On the lighting, thanks for the screens. I would have loved to see some adjustable stuff, but if the static lighting isn't too bright or too dim, I'm ok. The pictures look good. I guess nobody doubts CS' ability to offer plenty of fun on the external features, textures and the things like the nice wingflex. You surely enjoy them. Did I read it correctly, that the system internals on the whole flight guidance are still to come or would you say that one can already make use of e.g. VNAV and things? And how are the framerates so far? Any change with 0.6 in any direction?
July 16, 201213 yr Can these topics PLEASE be moved to the Captain Sim Forum? Do we have to hear about every new beta release? Hello, its annoying for those of us with no interest whatsoever in Captain Sims products. But if they move this thread then they would also need to move the ProATC thread as that software is in a similar buggy state. Where would they stop ?. My only worry is that this CS777 thread could run for another five years as that is how long they normally need to get something close to bug free
July 16, 201213 yr Don't forget the CS vs. LD or iFly vs. PMDG threads. I guess one has to move them to two sections then? Good one on the finishing time for products. Lets hope the J41 SP2 or the final fix for the MD-11 arrive soon. Wait, wrong section. Ugh. :P
July 16, 201213 yr Hello CoolP I have a high end wired2fire computer system. The components and the ASUS GTX 680 produce stunning graphics. I bought my system with a FSX 6790 GPU, the extra expense of an Nvidia 680 was well worth the money. I have had full VSYNC working in DX10 preview mode. I am definitely sticking to Nvidia cards from now on. The frame rates on my system with the CS777 are very good. I can achieve between 25-30 FPS with the frame rate capped at 30 FPS using Nvidia Inspector. I don't think this software will perform too well on lower end systems, its difficult to speculate. It may run well with FSX settings turned down. Certainly since the de-bug mode was removed the performance has improved. I have very high settings within FSX and within Nvidia Inspector. The experience is smooth and stutter free for me using a high end system. I should refer you to the CS forums, at this time I do not have much experience with the plane and it would be unfair to make any comments that may be misleading. There will be people in the CS forums who have better knowledge of the AC systems than me. Sorry Mad Dog, if you find discussion of the CS 777 and their products annoying then, why are you reading this thread! Someone has asked me to make a comment, and I am just trying to help them. I think it would be a good idea to close this thread now. BRGDS Charles
July 16, 201213 yr Don't worry, Charles, I was just looking for a personal impression yours. So the statement on your high-end system makes sense. I guess the glass stuff will never perform stellar within FSX, but lets hope the 777 turns out to be on the lighter side of things. The 1.5 CS767 with the cabin off is like that for me, so perhaps you can relate to her. So are you flying her with the AP and the modes so far or are the systems too limited for that in 0.6?
July 16, 201213 yr Charles, thanks for your reply! So everything looks good on the overhead panel, then. EVERYTHING is functional, that's nice. When you talked about the FMC, is it even there or is it not? Like does it do anything/work? i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
