July 29, 201213 yr You can still Download Flight for FREE. You can still use any Flight addons you have purchased. I believe, you can still purcahse any existing addons. What MS has done, is to CANCEL any FUTURE development. Anything already developed, and that was for sale, it is still for sale. They are NOT that STUPID !! If they already have it available for sale, why would they not sell it !!!
July 29, 201213 yr I don’t get the logic at all expressed by some in this thread. I once had this beautiful meal in this new Thai restaurant near my home. It was absolutely mouth wateringly great. Next time we had a work function, I organised a lunch over there – and everyone was looking forward to it based on my praises. Anyways to cut a long story short, the food was pretty bad when I took this group of 15 colleagues over there – especially considering the prices. Later I found out that the new place hadn’t been very profitable, some changes had been made – including the chef/kitchen staff. I was disappointed – my expectations of great Thai meals in the future had been completely dashed. If I understand this thread correctly, I should get a refund for my first meal, which I admittedly enjoyed. I find this very hard to digest. This is not about laws, policies or EULA's - its about common sense. Anyways writing this post has made me hungry. Ciao.
July 29, 201213 yr Bill Gates is sending out cheques for 10,000 dollars to everyone as we speak ! :LMAO: Fred. 10,000? Mine was for 12,000.
July 29, 201213 yr It's an even sadder day when people are using EULAs to defend corporations that fire entire teams on a whim. i'm not defending Microsoft - merely pointing out the reality of situation, which is there is no right to a refund either morally or legally. Also Microsoft didn't fire the team on a whim - it fired it because Flight wasn't commercially viable - that's reality too! Gerry Howard
July 29, 201213 yr Maybe we could take up a collection for the people that feel they are in economic peril now because of the fortune they spent on Flight. ;-) Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2
July 29, 201213 yr If you really, really, feel that a refund is in order then I suggest you write a letter to the CEO of Microsoft and let him know how you feel. I'm sure a check will be in the mail shortly. Personally I would like to see some of the funds derived from Flight go to the people that lost their jobs. Thank you. July 29, 201213 yr Maybe we could take up a collection for the people that feel they are in economic peril now because of the fortune they spent on Flight. ;-) You can't even spend a fortune on Flight if you want to...Compared to the FSX addons I have the Flight DLC was a bargain, even at full price. I spend more on one plane for FSX then I have spend on all Flight DLC (I didn't buy the planes without VC). And I don't even use that plane anymore...
July 29, 201213 yr I don't want a refund. I want another year and a half of Flight development and DLC. Me too. JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
July 29, 201213 yr A refund is for a faulty product or a product that has failed and can no longer be used as intended. What Microsoft has done is to release a product that some have found to be well below expectations and others have embraced because it offers something that the other flight related products don't. Although Flight was still In it's infancy, whether you loved it or hated it, it offered some hope for the future for a niche market from one of the worlds premier company's. I don't see it as a refund issue at all, after all you brought the tin and it contained beans which have been consumed. If you didn't like what the tin contained you go for the next one on the shelf. However, it's the morality of the company which is in question. No firm promises were ever made but they did imply a future. They are big enough and ugly enough to have swallowed their pride and supported a lost leader to make the tin of beans the best in the market. They chose the arrogant route instead. It is my view that they do not owe anyone monetary compensation. In the cold light of day they actually don't owe us anything. They have IMHO reneged on an implied 2year plan and have not behaved how I would have expected a blue chip company to have acted.

July 29, 201213 yr Personally I would like to see some of the funds derived from Flight go to the people that lost their jobs. They would have been paid for their work already. Would you like people to stand on street corners with collection tins singing kum bah yah?
July 29, 201213 yr And I'll be right behind you with my copy of Microsoft Bob While we are asking for refunds, I'd like to start with all the bad movies I have been a victim of - Not only did I bunk school and lose education, but spent the last of my precious pocket money on Speed2. Keanu Reeves pay up, now. I was led to believe it would be even better than Speed 1. After that I want my money back for Matrix 2 and 3 too. So much pocket money lost.
July 29, 201213 yr What's all this nonsense about a refund? I'm seriously considering buying the the Alaska Wilderness Pack, and probably the Cub DLX also. So what? Great sceneries, great flight model, and many hours of fun. Why should I demand a refund afterwards?
July 29, 201213 yr You can't even spend a fortune on Flight if you want to...Compared to the FSX addons I have the Flight DLC was a bargain, even at full price. I spend more on one plane for FSX then I have spend on all Flight DLC (I didn't buy the planes without VC). And I don't even use that plane anymore... I spent more on single programs in FS, that never even worked properly than I did on Flight. And t he guarantee on those programs was that if they blew up, you got to keep all the pieces you could find.
July 29, 201213 yr Agreed. My NGX cost $70. Lol. Way more than Flights bundle. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk William Sequeira
