August 13, 201213 yr Okay so then maybe I should've said something along the lines of "hand flying is so amazing, you wouldn't want to perform an autoland" ? (Not trying to be sarcastic or start an argument on here) That would be a better way of putting it :). John-Alan Pascoe

August 13, 201213 yr For those of you that do not follow the Aerosoft forums for the ABX Extended, this was posted by Mathijs a few hours ago: Posted Today , 09:20 AMPeople kept telling me that the previous preview topic was too long and it was hard to find the info. I caved and started this new one. All on this list is possible still fluid and in motion. Read it as such. And before asking stuff check the FAQ section that is now also available. August 13, 201213 yr This new ATC chatter sounds like a real keeper .... from Mathiji: "It's available during all stages of the flights and we love it. You hear the cabin crew do reports, hear radio chatter, even the co-pilot cough and search in documents. Together with the audio checklists this makes a very nice audio environment." When Pigs Fly . August 13, 201213 yr Ray Later today I am going to fly the step by step tutorial from EDDF to LOWW. After reading the Aerosoft AirbusX documentation, I reallly do appreciate how well written and organized the manuals and tutorial are presented. Ray, Where do I get these documentation? Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
August 13, 201213 yr Ray Ray, Where do I get these documentation? Manny Hello Manny, the seven pdf files can be found using the Windows Start button, All Programs, Aerosoft, AirbusX. The first item will be AirbusConnect which you will need for easily setting the passengers, cargo and fuel then click 'Send to FSX' This is one of the few add ons that you can do this 'after' FSX is loaded. You can also monitor your flight status using your smart phone or any browser. The step by step for the EDDF - LOWW flight is vol 6. The tutorial flight for the Extended edition will be EDDF - LOWI and both of these Aerosoft Mega Airports will be put on special soon after the actual release of the Extended edition according to Mathijs. August 13, 201213 yr the seven pdf files can be found using the Windows Start button, Ah..so we have to wait until the release then. Hmmm.. Does anyone know where we can get the real manuals or something that we can get a head start? Atleast their MCDU documentaion. Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
August 13, 201213 yr Ah..so we have to wait until the release then. Hmmm.. Does anyone know where we can get the real manuals or something that we can get a head start? Atleast their MCDU documentaion. Manny I don't think the final programming of the MCDU is completed just yet. They pack a lot of work into 3 weeks over there. I was talking about the AirbusX, not the Extended edition with the reworked systems and expanded features. I bought a hardcopy of Capt. Mike Ray's book on the A320 Simulator and Checkride last month when it was dirt cheap. I keep trying to read it but can't seem to get more than a couple of pages before falling asleep. You can get some rw info at SmartCockpits.com http://www.smartcockpit.com/plane/AIRBUS/A320.html Flying the Airbus is not the same as the Boeings. They went to great lengths to be different. I found several rw manuals from various airlines around the world available for download two years ago when JF and Aerosoft were just bringing their A320/321 to market, At that time, both were considered Lite versions so the rw stuff was just fluff. This time around, it should be very different. Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .

August 13, 201213 yr This might entice me to try out an Airbus. Looks nice enough but I just can't get into the cockpit. Randy Swofford
August 13, 201213 yr I think that feature list just made a customer hop to your side of the fence. I will buy this and show support for the work that looks like went into it. I too know nothing about Airbus, so this should be fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk William Sequeira
August 14, 201213 yr Author I too know nothing about Airbus, so this should be fun. Same with me... I have almost no experience with the FMGS or the kind of systems that an Airbus incorporates. Even though I have hundreds of hours logged in the NGX, I bet I will have a rocky start with this one due to the vast differences between Airbus and Boeing.
August 14, 201213 yr Thanks for posting that features list. I'm positively surprised by the low price and the fairly extensive feature set. Great idea to have the MCDU include a webserver for remote access. Quite innovative that. Personally I'm good with the "normal operations" approach to system modelling, as long as everything works as it should, although I of course prefer the "PMDG" approach when I can get it. Chances are good that I'll buy this Bus and the FSLabs one when it comes out and the reviews give it a clear bill of health. The one thing I don't get is the omission of the A319 and A318. Wouldn't it be very easy to "cut a few meters" out of the virtual fuselage, adjust the model files and a few details in the MCDU and be done with it? Let's just hope that Aerosoft can deliver a bug free product, and they will have won themselves one more customer. Cheers, Alex
