Captain Sim 767 is one Amazing Beautiful aircraft for FSX

Featured Replies

On the 2D cockpit wishes, I understand those. But the numbers of such releases gets lower and lower. Regardless of that, I think it's vital that a dev offers a full 2D set if a 2D cockpit is listed as the product's feature. Leaving certain panels out doesn't make sense at all.

I have enough planes with 2D to keep me happy for years so for me it's not a real issue. As long as companies like QW continue to code for FSX there will always be options, and for us multimonitor pilots it makes all the difference.

To your second point, I couldnt agree more, amd we both know who you are referring to. Anyone who takes 3 years + to model a plane and then says the throttle quadrent is too complicated is just blowing smoke and hoping we are too dumb to know it.

Ha Ha HA Drug test needed. lol

I see you beat me to it Bill. And here I thought LSD was a drug of the past. Guess there's still some around

(whew  )

I agree!

PMDG customer service is exemplary,as are their products.

true but CS and some other companies are also good.

Seriously, take a careful look at the Level-D before settling in on the CS. I own both, and I all but stopped flying the CS 767 (said "all but" as I recently made one flight in the CS767 to remind myself of why I prefer the Level-D.

In the end I suppose it depends on whether you want a little bit better looking flight deck or if you want the systems and (what I believe) is a more accurate flight model - I say that because to me the CS CS767 generally seems like flying the default 737. Also, the CS767 has no speed tape, lacks the option of chaning the fuel from meteric to lbs, and despite CS customers asking/begging for a change to both (for years) CS seems to have turned a deaf ear and never provided either. Someone else did a lbs conversion (Google is your friend here).

Just my personal opinion, I simply don't believe that CS cares at all about what CS customers and I stopped doing business with them after CS recently promoting it's 777 as a Beta product. It wasn't, as by any definition other that that of CS, a Beta has fully functional systems. If one Google's Software Beta", you'll come up with some professional websites that give the correct definition of what a software Beta is, and using any of those leaves me feeling deceived by CS.

Like I said, just my personal opinion (which CS deleted from their website).

xplane10 is sold as a beta for around $80 and it's doing well.

Hello

Have you tested that Nav radio yet ?

Agreed, I really enjoy the textures, sounds, animations and flight model of CS products. The systems take some getting used to and that is part of the fun flying the plane for me. Also, usually twice a year they practically give the planes away for a dramatic discount.

I just can't give up my virtual FO.

I'm using MCE (http://www.multicrewxp.com/) on the 767 and can't complain at all. It even voice works with AES and GSX and you can write your own checklists or use the templates. Pretty versatile and flexible. And it also voice works on the MD-11 and 747, which is a nice addition of course. The latest supported plane should be the Simcheck A300.

Seems like some of you folks have forgotten about this thread. ^_^ http://forum.avsim.n...-addon-threads/

Ahh multicrew... What has prevented me from using it has been Windows 7 home version in Finnish language (and been too lazy to get English version and reinstall everything for it) but it seems that nowadays Vistalizator supports also Win 7 64 bit SP1. Converting my system to English right now using it, maybe I could finally enjoy having a crew.

Not with CS planes unfortunatly

Jay

maybe I could finally enjoy having a crew.

Just keep in mind that there's a trial mode, so you can test it before buying. It may not be everybody's cup of tea, but the CS planes (757/767) are well supported, so it's a blast to operate the things with the help of the FO. I also run it on the steam gauge planes for the course and frequency changes and things.

Keeps the hands free for actually flying, especially on those approaches. :Ohttp://forum.avsim.net/topic/383751-crazy-approach-to-paro/

Hi,

I am the creator of the video review posted in the original poster's first post. I was quite surprised opening this thread to see a video I made over two years ago.

I bought this plane in the Captain Sim $10 sale. For $10 it was a great purchase without a doubt. Retrospectively though, two years on, unless one is flush with cash, it would not be on top of my shopping list given the current FSX add-on aircraft which have since been released. I would not even nearly rate this on par with the PMDG 737 NGX. It is also an FPS hog at busy airports.

Anyway, I hope my video review is useful and I standby the fact that it is a good quality add-on but a lot has changed in two years.

Cheers,

Steve

Haha just got Multi Crew trial more installed and configured, absolutely love it!

Now that's a good outcome. Check the forum section if you like, they always add new planes to the line-up. For free that is. As said, the CS 767 and 757 are already in the box.

I totally agree!!

Captain Sim's patching process is pretty much a scam to us customers. We pay them big money for a properly functioning product. They release a couple of patches. Bugs/issues still exist. Then they tell the customer that there will be no more "FREE" patch releases! And there's still known issues! What's with that? We have to pay more to get a fully functional product, if you're lucky, in the next major release of the same aircraft??! (I'm talking about the 757 v4.6) How many revisions will it take to get a relatively bug free add-on?

They're making a killing from those who can't see through this smoke screen they put up. Never again!

You'd never see PMDG ever do this! IMHO, the NGX is by far the reference for all others!

Cheers,
Todd

There are no systems, that's the joke.

The sounds are empty and not realistic, the systems are non existent, the FDE is just modified from a default Cessna or 737. The textures and animations are beautiful though. But comparing them to PMDG or Level-D is not possible.
