Support for FSX Has Come to an End

Featured Replies

FSRealWXlite to just name one. You could strip FSX down to the core and use feeware/patware addons to run it all day. Weather, traffic etc.

Halting support for a software of anykind after 7 yrs is not unusall. Many are 5yrs. I dont see the FS2004 forum abuzz because their support ended yrs ago :)

As you and Jean-Paul both mentioned the same program I'll certainly give it a go. Thanks.

FS9 users use the same MS weather server so if it shuts down when FSX support stops they'll soon start shouting too. And of course activation is not an issue for them.

The lousy cork-soakers!

 I love that skit! ROFL!!!

there is P3D and to be honest I'm getting a frustrated at guys banging on about the licensing and that it cannot be used for entertainment purposes.

You mean like LM? They are the one's saying it. It's just that some choose to actually listen to it while others find ways to reconcile it to themselves to reach their desired outcome. People get upset when you insinuate there is a similarity between not paying for the license and not following the usage that it covers. How does that work? If you decide you aren't going to adhere to the EULA, then how do you know which license to buy? Whatever is cheapest?

At any rate, those that have found their happy place with their use of a license that doesn't apply to them will always be ok with that and the rest is merely idle chit chat. Plus I'm a bit off topic with the discussion anyway. I just get frustrated with the constant droning that P3D is Flight Sim's savior. In my opinion it isn't. Not unless license coverage is meaningless to you.

Now, that's without hesitations what I call a VERY good post.

I've read in the P3D's forum that guys like us (who don't use P3D because of the reasons mentionned above) are asking others to raise their standards to ours, and that's the funny part as I though I had to lower my standards to theirs to use P3D.

+1 Aaron

As far as MS not supporting FSX anymore....what's the big deal?

Check the library. We already are.

Pray tell where? I searched and came up empty

Thanks

Support for FSX Has Come to an End ??????????????????????????

Support has NOT come to an end regardless of what Microsoft may think!

There is a world of support from great developers and enthusiasts.

And I will still whip out the plastic card for these great guys any day -PMDG,level D,Quality wings -too many to count.

This community supports itself, regardless of whether MS participates or not!!

MS will no longer provide support for FSX. That's a shocker. I won't sleep tonight.

Bimmer I have to know man... did you sleep last night? You look pretty stressed in your pic.

Nytol regards btw,

I'm going to engage my state's attorney general about this.

I'm flabbergasted... You guys really need to step outside for a few minutes, take a couple deep breaths and then go for a walk in your local park.

Yeah... that and take your... ehem... time doing some "relaxation techniques". Because I am sure your state AG will stick this right up there with the fan that (allegedly) burned her legs on a stadium seat.

Exactly Fr. Bill... In fact I read that CS statement and was :LMAO: ... just read again and here I am :LMAO:

You know... I think MS smarter than we give them credit. I think they knew by putting out that statement, there would be many, "the sky is falling" posts and being very bored atm, they would have time for read and a chuckle or two. Just Look! 100 posts in this thread alone!

Actually, no. The world is simply not the same anymore without MS's FSX support. I even think gas prices will be soaring once again after this news spreads around the world's flight sim sites. I think yesterday was the end of the Mayan's calendar and not December 21st. They missed it by 3 months. Close enough though.

PS: I just noticed Tom has an ALERT gif right next to the subject's title. LMAO Just to make sure this news doesn't catch us off guard. hahaha This is too funny.

It's the only way I can get people to read my writing... besides, you got a problem with the word "ALERT"?

you got a problem with the word "ALERT"?

I think he would prefer the term APB (all points bulletin). :shok:
