People Express 737-200 where they wheeled a cash register down the aisle so you could pay for your ticket - after takeoff...

About 25 years ago I rode a TWA 727 that had the front right (galley) exit just forward of the wing instead of the normal position at the front of the passenger cabin. This wasn't a pleasant situation when on a cold windy St Louis day the food wasn't brought on board until the passengers were on in their seats (coats and other cold weather wear stowed).

I remember flying TWA and Vanguard a few times when I was a little kid in the early 90s. Also flew on Continental as recently as 2009. That's about all I can remember.

Have to start with perhaps the most influential airline of all time -

Laker Skytrain DC10

Followed by

DanAir BAC 1-11

Courtline BAC 1-11 (The brightly coloured planes that matched inside and out)

Spantax Convair and DC8

Continental DC10

PanAm B747-200 (and that was filthy inside and out with the world's oldest hostesses I've ever seen!)

UTA DC10 (Brilliant to fly with)

Ansett NZ BA 146 (kicked Air New Zealand's butt for awhile)

From memory mine would be:

Wardair

CP Air / Canadian Airlines

Canada 3000

707

727

DC9

L-1011

Maybe more on that list but can't remember them all

Oh my, I forgot about them! During the summer I used to fly from Jacksonville to Newark nearly every weekend so I could do "dinner and a show" in NYC. If I recall correctly, the fare was $65 each way, so it was quite affordable.

Yep I too remember PeopleExpress Flight Attendents with the cash registers going down the aisle, collecting fares.

Newark to Boston for $29, we would just pay cash on board en-route.

Regards.
