How do you know they won't hit the TOGA button?

Ahh, thank you.

I must say, is it just the airbus look? Or does it look....um...bland?

I hear that good things are suppose to happen with this plane, but I am unsure of the actual developer as I have no experience with their products aircraft wise.

I think it's just that the default lighting in FSX creates such a bland looking environment. ENB or other injector tools can bring the colours out more but they always end up breaking something else and I've yet to find a tool that works well for all times of day. Rest assured the VC detail, even on the Airbus X, is some of the best out there.

The other reason is that they have insisted on keeping the dark-tinted windows from the Airbus X which always really annoyed me because it makes everything outside too dark. I know the real planes probably do have tint but the lighting environment in FSX is too crappy to simulate the effect realistically. Thankfully though the texture is quite easy to remove so I was able to get rid of it in the Airbus X in short order. Not sure if it will be so easy for this one.

Waouh... I am impressed by what you say... how did you manage to decrese the windows tinted effect ? and does that give you a lighter virtual cockpit ? if you could share that would be nice... thank you

too much, too soon....

Hi Pao I managed to remove the tint effect by altering a texture file in the Airbus X Base Texture VC folder. There is a file called glasswin.dds or something similar. I used a tool to open the file and change the Alpha channel which is where the transparency comes from apparently. If you like I'll send the file to you when I get home (at work right now).

It will make the world outside the windows look brighter but won't affect the colours in the VC itself. The downside is you also lose the window reflections which look quite cool but I personally don't mind. Someone more skilled at texture editing than myself (I'm a noob really) could probably do something clever where you can still see the reflections without any darkening - sort of like what those geniuses at RealAir did with the Turbine Duke =).

They are offering a model without sharklets to right?

How is this different than the Airbus X? I'm gonna wait to see the difference. I'm not too excited as I already have the Airbus X and never fly it. Too bad they couldn't do a nice 330 or 340 as it seems there aren't any good ones available. I just downloaded the Simcheck A-300 so I haven't really gotten into it yet although the graphics I can tell are not the sharpest.

There are 5 different models, and only one has sharklets. Included are:

A320 IAE engines

A320 CFM engines

A321 IAE engines

A321 CFM engines

A320 NEO demonstrator (standard A320 with sharklets)

Much more functionality has been added in the FMGS. The MCDU now supports SID's, STAR's, full routes with airways (with which you will be given a full NavData Pro 1209 AIRAC included with the product), completely re-done from the ground up FBW, ADIRS is now simulated, all AP modes will be simulated (managed, selected, OP CLB/DES, V/S, [TRK/FPA is a current WIP, might be included in initial release, if not, will be for SP1 which will follow soon after release]), CTD's have all been eradicated, FS2Crew RAAS is included, new FDR for recording flight information which can be visually displayed using Google Earth, and plenty more. Since you are an Airbus X owner you will also get a discount on the Airbus X Extended, cost will be 16.16 Euro.

Did you just make the alpha all white?

Thanks

Can't wait to finally get proper Airbus... Can't see Facebook images though, have blocked whole site using adblock and hosts file in Windows.

Proper geeks doesn't facebook!

Ahh, thank you.

Well, the Airbus X was widely applauded as one of the best looking planes for FSX ever. I dont see why the extended bus would be any different in this regard. The real buses cockpits does look very clean tho

I see they're not including the new style landing & taxi lights that reflect on the pavement...a real let down for nite flyers :-(

I think that feature is alot more than simply eye candy since it truly helps you to see the taxi lines alot better at night.

Where did you see that? The landing and taxi lights are very much indeed in the 'new style'. They are definitely not default FSX. For proof, here are screenshots:

Photos removed as they do not meet the 1600W and/or 400KB limits

And the new lights have been mentioned for weeks now, if not months. They do look terrific.

yes now that I can see them they look pretty good I agree...but on the aerosoft forum one of the devs stated that they didnt bother with the reflective lights since they thought it would effect frames too much...dunno but he just made the post either today or yesterday i believe. Perhaps I misunderstood or maybe he was speaking only of the nav lights not being reflective?

is there any differences on external and internal textures between extended and old version except sharklets? old version was also very beaitiful.
