November 5, 201213 yr I'd like to know one thing: FPS while sitting in the NGX on the UK2000 EGLC in the middle of FTX England. I bet it will bring every system not to the crawl, but to the stop.
November 5, 201213 yr Hey kannwar, I don't think you should read too much into the pics. The resolution I'm sure will be as good as their previous New Zealand sceneries. Thanks I hope this is true, that pic you just posted is absolutely stunning. I wonder how high that plane is flying. It looks like they've got the scale of the objects really good there. I'd like to know one thing: FPS while sitting in the NGX on the UK2000 EGLC in the middle of FTX England. I bet it will bring every system not to the crawl, but to the stop. If this is true it will be the end of my simming days in England =(.
November 5, 201213 yr Hello GenX with Treescapes + UK2000 airports already does this. Landclass plus textures can never be truly accurate, only a general attempt to look like a particular area. Great if you do not live in the UK, not so great if you do and want an accurate representation. I have the packages mentioned above and find them great, but the cost of all products combined can see you spending upto and over £200. I'm not sure on the orbx release if the whole of the uk is included in one download, or it will be split into regions, but overall I'll bet it's much cheaper than using the products mentioned combined. And to get a god representation of the UK I'll be pleased to see its release. I think the screenshots look great, I'll never get London looking like that without spending another wad of cash on VFR London, and that may see my FPS drop still. Do I need ORBX England? Probably not.... Will I buy ORBX England? Almost certainly. Steve.
November 5, 201213 yr The GEX/UTX/Orbx thing works fine. I think you have to turn off some lights, if you have the lights on. Someone listed the lines for NA. I have flown from UTX (or GEX, can't remember) US into PNW with no issues, so crossing the Channel will be the same. With regards to overall accuracy, I have a hun'andsomething real hours over NZNI. In the Orbx version, I had no issues with not knowing where I was not recognising the place. I was able to follow the road from the airport to the house I grew up in and tick off the significant roads as I went. Obviously, the house didn't have the right coloured roof. Don't imagine England will be much different. I do have a fairly low suspension of belief threshold because it's just a desktop PC, so I'm not that picky. Mike Dryden
November 5, 201213 yr Well, my friend, I guess it depends on what you want while GA flying. For me, I want to be able to look out of the window and see a 3D world from 500ft and not a flat blurry mess Hello Howard, So basically as long as it looks nice and its the right shade of green your fine ?
November 5, 201213 yr Hello Howard, So basically as long as it looks nice and its the right shade of green your fine ? FTX England scenery is a lot more than that. Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024
November 5, 201213 yr FTX England scenery is a lot more than that. Hello In what way, it is only landclass + textures after all and cannot be totally accurate, fine I suppose if eye candy is all you want.
November 5, 201213 yr I'd like to know one thing: FPS while sitting in the NGX on the UK2000 EGLC in the middle of FTX England. I bet it will bring every system not to the crawl, but to the stop. Hey Srdan, if Orbx use the same design tamplates that they have used for NZ, then i am convinced it won't be a problem. eg. I can fly in the Realair Lancair at very dense AG around Auckland and get 30fps in the VC! Now you know me and how picky I am about smoothness and things... I have the packages mentioned above and find them great, but the cost of all products combined can see you spending upto and over £200. Probably not.... Will I buy ORBX England? Almost certainly. Steve. Hey Steve, the UK will be broken into sections, ie Scotland, Wales and England, and I guess Ireland, but I can't remember reading too much about that. The cost no doubt, only guessing, will be comparable with the NZ release, which is £26!! Try comparing that with the Horizon X, where you have to buy different areas and then you get the same coverage for £50 if you get the boxed set and then the cost of treescapes too! I know the cost is only secondary to the product quality, but it's still a factor nonetheless. Hello Howard, So basically as long as it looks nice and its the right shade of green your fine ? Hiya, well, I guess it's a little like going to the theatre and becoming completely involved with a play and it's story, enjoying every moment of the ups and downs, the drama and of course the immersion. There will be some who love the play and really become involved and then there will be those who's enjoyment was marred because the main actors were wearing the wrong type of clothes for the period! BTW: Don't get me wrong, I perfectly respect anyone's preference, but as a matter of interest, have you ever tried Orbx scenery? November 5, 201213 yr Hello In what way, it is only landclass + textures after all and cannot be totally accurate, fine I suppose if eye candy is all you want. Accurate placement of landscape textures, roads, waterways, towns and villages, other landmarks and much, much more. Orbx landclass is very detailed because the scenery areas are relatively small, And besides that eyecandy ofcourse! Their textures are top of the bill. I understand you are a fan of photoreal scenery. That is accurate to you. But the photo's used are relatively old (therefore not accurate), you don't have seasons, the colouring is awful to my taste, and I absolutely dislike the blurs. I perfectly respect anyone's preference, but as a matter of interest, have you ever tried Orbx scenery? I'm curious about that too. I have used photoreal scenery in the pasted, but the immersion never was as great as it is with the Orbx approach. Anyway, it's all a matter of taste. Let's agree to disagree. November 5, 201213 yr As a matter of interest and personal taste, I have purchased, installed and uninstalled all of the UK with JF VFR and Horizon GenX, oh, and treescapes too! I have simply never been able to come to terms with the flatness and blurriness of phototerrain. OK, not too bad if flying airliners but IMO, for GA flying, I simply don't understand the attraction. But as Bert has said, we are all different, thank goodness and we'll no doubt agree to disagree  HowardMSI Mag B650 Tomahawk MB, Ryzen7-7800X3D CPU@5ghz, Arctic AIO II 360 cooler, Nvidia RTX4090 GPU, 32gb DDR5@6000Mhz, SSD/2Tb+SSD/500Gb+OS, Corsair 1000W PSU, LG Ultragear 48"4K, MFG Crosswinds, TQ6 Throttle, Fulcrum One YokeMy FlightSim YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@skyhigh776

Oh yes I do know how you are ^_^ I don't own the Lancair, so I can't really judge, but it probably ain't as heavy as NGX. Though, if I manage to get 20FPS in the VC in the above scenario, then BIG THUMBS UP!!! So when is it coming out? I'm tip-toeing about this one!
November 5, 201213 yr In terms of FPS I'm quite optimistic - When flying in the UK with my current UTX/GEX Europe set-up with a few UK2000 airports I'm getting often below 15FPS and that's with medium graphics settings. When I fly over in the beautiful ORBX Australia I'm able to crank up all the detail to max and I enjoy a constant locked 25FPS! So they must do something right as far as frames are concerned.... Hey Srdan, dunno about other guys, but for me the Realair Lancair is not that much kinder on frames than the NGX, at least on my rig. I think what I'll do is do some tests and post them around here 'cos I think there's a lot of interest from guys who maybe have not got any Orbx sceneries. Only a guess, based on previous timescales, but I suspect the scenery will be available in the next couple of weeks. November 5, 201213 yr What's needed is a good objective comparative review like this one on creating a VFR London http://www.simflight...te-city-london/ Whatever looks right obviously depends on what you fly, whether seasons are important and how it performs on different spec boxes? Comparisons of size, cost, fps etc. all need to be considered too. All packages have strengths and weaknesses and that brings in the record of each publisher in listening to feedback, issuing patches, updates etc. Until the package is out there and we've all had a chance to explore, add our own favourite extras, airfields and hopefully post screenshots of the good the bad and the ugly we're all just left with the spoonfed titbits to discuss. November 5, 201213 yr ... It disgusts me but I guess it's still loads better than my UTX/GEX combo... Really? It disgusts you? Really? Why? Blackrat
