November 13, 201213 yr This is a great upgrade! I have found all the issues in Essentials fixed, and fixed very well, and there's a lot more--much more refined and quick now. I almost jumped on Opus just to get a good weather program but am feeling pretty good now that these issues have been addressed. November 13, 201213 yr That's great to hear Noel, can you elaborate? what improvements have you noticed? The screenshots in the forums look impressive indeed, would love to hear about any other changes. Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
November 13, 201213 yr Author Sure! The installation progressed 10x faster than former versions. This was a known issue for many users and it was solved--at least that was my experience. Initial load time (from executing the .exe to ready to 'Fly Now') has been reduced to about 30-40% of the time it took previously--longer of course than some, but much improved. In the new Plus weather mode weather injections are seamless-no more flashing sky! At least, I don't recall seeing this and I think the user manual confirms this is the case. Weather rendering, wind smoothing, visibility, haze have all behaved & looked fabulous so far. Weather is matching local conditions ;o) Solid & stable. The program shuts down quickly as well, unlike the former version. I was getting the odd hitch previously which had improved somewhat w/ a few unrelated changes to my setup, but the first 3 flights I took w/ Essentials Plus I had no hitches--even out of 3rd party airports, and that is new. I now believe some of these brief, intermittent video hitches may have been directly caused by Essentials previous. Those are the main improvements as I see them. November 13, 201213 yr Well if you allow me.....after 6 days of using REXE+ ...... it's unbelievable I didn't try other weather programs but I am confident it doesn't get any better. specially now transitions are unnoticed, no sudden changes...... amazing...... really amazing graphics, layers of clouds I didn't see before at FSX. I only wish it would load automatically with flight that's it. all that and I am only scratching the surface of REXE+ Alaa A. RiadJust love to fly............... November 14, 201213 yr I agree, it works great now. I love the new WX Plus Mode, and things just seem very realistic now. I'm using an older system and have my clouds set at 1024, but they still look great at that resolution. Curt Branch

November 15, 201213 yr I just had a very low vis approach into EHAM with the Maddog and REX+ gave me just that, very low vis all the way down. In fact, I had to go around on the first attempt since I couldn't spot the runway at the CAT I minimum (188ft). The second attempt worked out, with the autoland doing the job and aiming for the lower CAT III stuff (50ft RA). So far, the new Plus engine is real fun. :good:

Wx is just too important for flying. Dirk.
November 15, 201213 yr All right..I got my pop up error with no theme error message solved! I did 2 things.. not sure which one fixed it 1) I unstalled REX E+ and rebooted 2) This time when I ran the installer I ran it as an administrator (Earlier I may have run REX as admin but may not have installed as Admin) 3) This I suspect was what solved my issue.. When I right clicked on REX and Properties->Security->and picked the group (My user id), I noticed it did not have write access. So Changed it to Full control.. I then toned it down a little maybe..but it does have write access now. That was it... Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
