How much have you spent on Flight Simming

Featured Replies

And MS have now left the hobby, as I have myself.

Unfortunately for them they still have nothing to sell me as Windows 7 is my last PC operating system.

Their latest operating system holds little interest for me, so for the first time in nearly two decades MS have disappeared from my radar

Do you think Microsoft (or anyone else) really cares?

Hello

What a bitter and nasty individual you are Jerry

First off, the Wife and Girl friends can kiss my perfect a$$, and I'd slap "that look" into outer space if I saw it. Even the most simple of "girl things" can be in the tens of THOUSANDS of dollars... Shoes, apparel, makeup, etc.... A frigg'n visit to the "hair colorist" is a couple hundred bucks... Oh no... no no no... never give me "that look". 20,000 for the frickin wedding... naa.. you no lookie at me like that when I buy the Milviz K350 for 50 bucks... You'll sleep in the back yard if you do.

I'd say a grand, not including the computers.

I;ve spent enough on FS9 that FSX has no foreseeable future.

( well maybe when off the shelf CPU's are stable at 5ghz or better.)

Tax refunds lol. Got 600 in software and 600 in hardware. Invest in Xplane 10 as I see it as freeware buffet. Can backup xplane installs and fsx gotta send work week installing things on fsx on new machines. Xplane 20 minutes with disks backups , just stick boot disk back in DVD back to flying.

That's a winner comment! Darn straight too!

I've spent roughly 3000 Euros in add-ons the last 2-3 years.

Lets see:

3 computer builds over 10 years (not very much compared to some here). $6000.

CH products - $750

Software - $1500 (guess).

So total - $8250 over 10 years. $825 per year is very cheap for a hobby really. If you golf, or fly a real plane, ride a motorcycle or are a musician, trust me its much more.

Yes, have and do three of those. I have two of the king of the "expensive" motorcycles (excluding custom brands), Harley Davidson.. 10's of thousands tied up in those two. Music equipment... I have a home studio.. 12 grand... and that is SMALL. My brother and Father are the pilots of the clan.. Bro is a regular flyer, doing about 100 hours a year.. say an average of 148.00 an hr rental fee.. 14 grand a year.

a 1st world life is not cheap.

Thank you. When the little lady comes home with a pair of Dolce Gabbana shoes for 750 bucks, I get an add on plane for 50.

I'm at $1500 for the year including my new Pc build which cost 860ish

I think it might be around 4000 euros during last 3 years or so, though around 1000 euros of that money I've got by selling my sceneries, great way to fund this hobby :)

When I get back from here Thailand in 2 days it's time to spend my christmas sales earnings, I might start building low budget home cockpit now.
