  1. Also check the width of the taxiways. If they have apron under them they could be too narrow.
  2. Yes. Any afcad program will do it. (ADE, AFX, etc.) All you have to do is put a runway where and what size and direction you want, put a flatten or ground poly around it, name it, (name, city, state, country) and give it an IACO or IATA code so it will show up in the menu and on the gps.
  3. SimMarket has a Valentines Day sale going in now. some stuff up to 40% off.
  4. For something different and more complex with updated avionics, my choice would be the Wilco Piaggio P180 Avanti II. You also get a Ferrari with it to tool around the countryside with.
  5. Depending on which approach you were using 4000ft would be about right for approach vectors into RJAA. From the latest chart I can find (feb 2012) the IF for ILS 34L is waypoint DAISY 17.7nm at 4000ft, then the FAF COSMO 11.8nm at 4000ft, GS to the RW. Narita is on my to do list so I will be updating all of the approaches there.
  6. I hate to say this but I unfortunately have a problem with your awesome texture replacement. I am getting snow (hw) in places that don't get snow, southern US, Caribbean, South Pacific, etc. Any chance for an update to fix this ? Thanks
  7. With the mentioning of KPHL, I have to say KLGB, KONT, KORL, KSNA, KBUR, KHOU, KPSP, KTOL, AND KTYS by Shehryar Ansari (Shez). Also, PADU, PAMR by Roger Wensley. Delblond Christian's Caribbean sceneries. Glacier Bay by Holger Sandmann. Come to think of it any of his sceneries. Toni Agramont's sceneries. Toni Hiltunen's city enhancements. El Formosa Taiwan. Terra Brasilis Sao Paulo and Rio. FreeFlow sceneries. Japanese Cities at http://fsx.o.oo7.jp/ by Shigeo"shige"Ishii. Manila, Kualalu, and Shanghai by Nestor D'Angelo. City of Edmonton by Brian Sturton. Furnace Creek by Ron Ezra. CYYJ by Don Grovestone. AlphaSim has a lot of free military airports. John Stinstrom has done several nice military airports. I'm really surprised that this thread is over 3 yrs old and only 2 pages.
  8. Don't forget about the most merged panels on the planet, the old PSS 757, can still be had at Just Flight (757 Professional). Their 777 Pro is nice too. LevelD 767 Dreamfleet/Flight1 727. For Classic 737's Feelthere/Wilco is prob. the best available. Then there's the SMS/Overland Boeing pack. (737,-8, -9, 744, 763, 772, 773, MD11). Ready For Pushback 747-200. (here in the library) TinMouse 732. (here in the library) Posky 74, 75, 76. HJG (Historic Jetliners Group) 707, 717,720, 727. What I don't know is if any work or can be made to work with Win8. For AI you can't go wrong with WoA, AIG, or UTT even though it's a lot of work. There is also a program, GATraffic to handle random flightplans for all of your GA needs.
  9. I could be wrong, but I beleive ModelConverterX can do that. It can be found here: http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=83
  10. Sounds like you either had a crash, saved a flight, or closed FS with those autopilot settings previously. All you need to do is open UI generated flightt.FLT or/and Previous flight.FLT in My Documents\Flight Simulator Files folder, scroll down to the [AutoPilot.0] section (should be near the bottom), and change the settings to what condition you want them to be in. Same thing for the lights, they are in the [switches.0] section. For the altimeter setting mine is usually KollsmanSetting=29.919628143310547 in the [Gauges.0] section. The simulation rate is near the top in the [Options] section, SimSpeed=001.00 . These two flight plan files load the aircraft in the condition stored there. Hope this helps, Scorp

  12. ImagineSim does this intentionally so that user aircraft always have a proper gate to park at. At a busy airport like ATL it's not unusual for your Delta aircraft to get parked in cargo or overflow.
  13. Only when I forgot to select anything to convert.
  14. Just out of curiosity, how much has Narita changed since Overland/Simmers Sky released it for FS9

  17. Have you checked out the Wilco classics. Probably be a lot easier than a merge. http://www.wilcopub.com/simulator-add-on/737-pilot-in-command-evolution-fsx.html
  18. I found out with Simflyers KPHX fence textures. With the fence textures DXT3 I could see through the fence and everything behind it, all the way to the ground. When i converted it to DXT1 w/alpha (colorkey) it worked like it was supposed to. The way I've been doing this is: if it needs 100% transparency then it's DXT1 colorkey, if it needs shaded transparency ( like tinted glass ) or reflection then it's DXT3.
  19. You have done nothing wrong. Thats just the way the program is, the flight plan altitude is set by the cruise altitude of the aircraft you have selected. If you cant remember the FL you had in a previously made flight plan you can open the xxxx.pln with notepad and check before you open it with FSC.
  20. As long as the alpha is all white or all black there should not be any difference. I believe that if you use reflective models you need to use DXT3. Seems I remember a discussion about that somewhere.
  21. Hi Mike, To set the large address aware flag you can use the programs here http://www.ntcore.com/exsuite.php or here http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=112556 With most of your AI textures being 32 bit that is more than likely causing your memory starvation. With 32 bit textures every AI aircraft loaded is using 8 mb just for textures where dxt3 will only use 2 mb, A huge difference, and that's for non mipped 1024x1024 textures. That's not counting any scenery you may have that also has 32 bit textures in it. Even with the large address aware flag set you will probably still have some memory starvation. As an example, in the area around JFK I would normally have 6-800 aircraft loaded at any given time. With 32 bit textures I would be using 480-640 mb of memory just for AI aircraft textures with dxt3 it would only be 120-160 for the same area. The only textures I allow to be 32 bit are clouds, and on user aircraft props, and some glass textures.
  22. The only one I can think of is the 3GB switch but that only applies if you are using a 32 bit OS. And the greater than 2 GB address aware switch in the FS9.exe . Are you using 32 bit textures on AI aircraft or in any scenery ? Is this happening everywhere or just in certain areas ?
  23. Hi Mike, Sorry that didn't work for you. On my system I can tell a big difference between TDR / TER 4.0 and 9.5 which is why I suggested that, slong with TEL at 8. I know this has been discussed to death over the years, for some it worked, some it didn't. I do seem to recall that someone from Aces had suggested the 9.5 settings. Memory starvation can still be a problem, FS is still a 32 bit app. so it doesn't matter how much system memory you have FS will never use it all. Are you using Ultimate Terrain, 32 bit textures, a lot of AI, photo scenery, etc ? On my system I start to see what you are seeing when memory usage in task manager starts getting up around 1.8-1.9 GB, at 2.1-2.2 GB I see exactly what you're seeing, my system has 4 GB ram, 1 GB video ram, and page file set at 3 GB. ( It's an old system)
  24. What I'm seeing in your FS9.cfg setting that will cause this problem is: TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=0.000000 change to 10.000000 TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=200.000000 change to 100.000000 TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=4.000000 change to 9.500000 TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4.000000 change to 9.500000 TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4 change to 8 also make sure your global max texture size is Massive. If that don't fix your problem then the only other thing I can think of is memory starvation, and that's usually a texture problem.
