December 14, 201213 yr Their 737-200 is definitely the best ever made and i doubt Milviz version will come close. CS just needs to get one thing in their minds: FINISH THE DAMN PLANES before making new ones. Really. :( I don't have any CS planes currently, and it would be highly unlikely that I ever will, so maybe I shouldn't comment, but it is my prediction that the Milviz 737 will be signifigantly better and more accurate than the CS one.
December 14, 201213 yr Here are my thoughts on the Captain Sim sale: - 707 Captain: very good, a steal at €9.99 (or around $13 US). Pick this one up at this price if you have not already. - 737 Captain: ditto, also well worth the €9.99 sale price. No break on the 737-100 or 737-200ADV variants, though, so you can always just buy the base model today, and then spend the €9.99 on these variants at another time. The 737-200C/F model is normally €14.99, so you do get a €5 discount on that one today. - 777 Captain: this one depends largely on how you feel about flying unfinished planes. I think the €39.99 (around $52 US) is a bit excessive for this one, but €9.99 is OK. Plus, you get all the updates when they finally do finish it. So what you are really buying into here is the potential for a very good 777. Or, it might end up being rubbish. At €9.99, you are not out a whole lot one way or the other, though. It's actually flyable, and works decently well at this point. Most basic FMC functions work as of the 0.9 update. There are some indicators missing on the glass displays, such as the FD state and the ILS indicators, and a few other unfinished elements here and there, but I was able to complete a short flight from KAUS to KDFW last night with no issues. I figure if nothing else, it will be a good warmup to when PMDG releases their 777 series. - 727 Captain - this really needs some TLC from Captain Sim. It works, but I have a lot of trouble with its autopilot following VOR radials on a straight line - it seems to veer wide then overcorrect itself a lot. Plus, as others have pointed out, there are a lot of other things that you have to manually clean up about the flight dynamics to get the feel just right. I think this has the potential to be good, but it just feels like it needs a bit more polish to me. Still, it's really the only game in town for the 727 on FSX right now. €9.99 won't set you back much. - 757 Captain - my very first Captain Sim purchase. It's come a long way, but there are still features I wish it had - like the speed tape variant in the glass displays, for example. I have had trouble with 757 Captain in the past tracking the localizer on ILS - it seemed to want to drift - although I have not flown it in a while, so I cannot remember if it was still an issue. Captain Sim is supposedly working on a new set of fixes for this one. A decent buy at €9.99, I think. - 767 Captain - see 757 above, very similar There you have it.
December 14, 201213 yr I got the 707 - I love it. Worth the sale price fer sure! Watch the old school movies about the 707 to get into the spirit. Rob"Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it"
December 14, 201213 yr I am a fan of CS. My very first add on airliner was the 2004 CS 727. Loved it loved it... It was the addon that got me to become an addon addict. I love the CS130..the 727 and the 707. And I like the fact that they have these $9.99 sales. I have gotten most of their aircrafts thats way... for that kind of pricing, its simply amazing and a bargain. I have so many hangar queens..but CS aircrafts not one of em. I don't care for folks who pay $10 and then whine about CS. Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

Especially when you can purchase any of them for 9.99. Yes they do have some problems but for the price I usually get plenty of enjoyment. Over the years during these sales I have the 707, C130, 727, 737,B52, and 757, which I would have to rank the 737 my favorite followed by the 707 and C130. Now if I had paid full price It might not be as enjoyable. Even with all that said I am not sure to go for the 777 but for 9.99 why not. December 14, 201213 yr it seems to veer wide then overcorrect itself a lot. The plane does things that don't make sense to me sometimes. But that is part of the fun of flying it for me. The more hours I put in with it, the better I get at controlling it. It is not an easy plane to master, it takes many hours and even then, it will still surprise you. Regards; Fritz
December 15, 201213 yr Agreed, many planes have quirks (some can be damn near perfect mind you but very few and far between). I can deal with nuances in most cases, take the FT 737 in FS9. I loved that plane in FS9 (not flayable in FSX tho), sure it had quirks but I learned to deal with it. And any CS bird for 10 Euro how can you go wrong? I picked up the CS732 yesterday and love the heck out of it. Will the MilViz be better? Prolly, but it aint out yet and it won't be 10 Euro. And for those that scream "realisim" I say this. I have never, ever, on a real wrold flight had an OOM error go GONG! Where I suddenly ended up back at my departure airport after six hours of flying...or seen the gorund all blurry because the scenery can't keep up with the planes speed. Lets not get started on the lack of ground effects in the sim PERIOD. So POOF to those that preach "ultimate realisim"! Al Stiff
December 15, 201213 yr I went and got the 737 yesterday but already seem to running into problems with cold & dark start-up. It seems that the battery discharges even when running on GP or APU. This then renders some of the instruments inoperable including the VHF radios until I reload the aircraft. Michael R
