December 13, 201213 yr So whats the best 757 for like VC quality and things like that? I do not think there is a clear winner. When I first purchased the QualityWings version, I enjoyed it. The HD textures (certain repaints only) and sounds were excellent, but after learning many of the intricacies of the PMDG B747, it was difficult to go back to an aircraft less complex and realistic.
December 13, 201213 yr CS757 sometimes has a mind of its own while QW is a much simpler incarnation of the 757. A new SP3 is bound to be released (or maybe even a new version - they're discussing this) which will turn it into a better 757. Just how better nobody knows yet. December 14, 201213 yr The sale has started from now. All the base packs are on sale, including the 777. I only picked up the C-130 experience so far. So many sales going on at the moment.
December 14, 201213 yr Wait, CS is charging 10 Euro per component? That doesn't seem like great savings to me, considering I can go down to Micro Center 10 minutes away and pickup boxed copies of the 727 for $39.99 and the 757 for $29.99, each featuring all variants and several liveries. With current exchange rates 10 Euro = $12.53 according to their checkout page. That yields minimal savings on the 727 and a $9 deficit compared to Micro Center on the 757. They're entitled to charge whatever they like and I welcome a sale as much as the next FS addict, but I don't know about this one... Anyone care to comment on the expansions, are they truly worthwhile in terms of time spent in a given variant or does the base pack get most of your flying time?
December 14, 201213 yr So for a cs noob, whats the best deal. I always assumed their planes were garbage as all I heard were negatives.
December 14, 201213 yr So for a cs noob, whats the best deal. I always assumed their planes were garbage as all I heard were negatives. There's this really weird rivalry between Captain Sim and just about everyone else (mostly PMDG). I really don't know why. It certainly was not started by any companies themselves--I guess it just developed over time. Captain Sim was actually one of the leading FS companies back in the days of FS2002, and while they have been surpassed in the years since, I would put them in the top five developers (granted, probably fifth, but that's only because there are some truly amazing aircraft out there for FSX). Anyway, I own just about everything they have, but I only really enjoy flying the 777 and 707. Everything else is nice, but dated. Despite what people say, all their jetliners have pretty much fully-simulated systems. If you're just going to fly normal flights, they have all the complexity you need. It's when you start pushing the aircraft's limits and doing failure simulations that you see where CS is lacking. But of all their products, I would most highly recommend the 707. I personally like the 707 more, but if you don't mind spending the money on the PMDG version, you might as well get that for that little bit extra. However, the 707 is a comprehensive simulation, lacking only the INS--and that's because the CIVA freeware people never got back to them with information that CS needed to put it in the VC--and is totally different from anything else you've flown, guaranteed. And of course the 777 is great (or at least it will be in a little bit when they finish up with v1.0), so that would be a good buy if you don't want the PMDG version. But now I have a question of my own for the owners of the 737. I think I'm going to buy it, but I just read a review on it that seemed very negative, talking about a large lack of systems depth. Now, I frequently fly PMDG's 737NGX and J41--top-of-the-line addons--and I never feel liking I'm taking a big drop in systems depth when I fly a CS plane. Are there any big problems with the 737's systems I don't know about? -Bram Osterhout
December 14, 201213 yr Best deal for military types is the all in one c130 pack. It includes their extra packs in it... Just got it. Wonderful watching uk photoscenery and treescapes slipping by from the amazing VC.
December 14, 201213 yr I would only be interested in the 767 and it doesn't appear to be included in the "Everything 9.99 except sale " It is, just go to the webshop, and under "767 Captain", click on "View Family". Then you'll see the discounts. Thanks, Kevin L

Are there any big problems with the 737's systems I don't know about? I am not a real-life 732 driver, so I can only compare it to a highly regarded freeware implementation, the Tinmouse II, plus I have spent way too many hours watching World Air Routes videos involving real pilots flying the 732. There's nothing major missing from the systems on the CS 737. A few things are a bit broken. The manual modes on the pressure system don't work correctly and the yaw damper warning light is illuminated until you go in flight, plus the autopilot won't follow a VOR track until you're using ALT HOLD unless you have Acceleration. And the position of the probe heat switches is reversed (up on down off). There may be a few other niggling details I can't remember now but this is a pretty decent systems implementation and I'm a systems geek who wants authenticity. You should not hold off purchasing it for this reason. I suspect some people are understandably upset with this company for leaving so many unfixed bugs in their products and "depending on their user base for support for older products" (to put it nicely) and sometimes issue emotional condemnations that are more negative than the actual product might deserve. December 14, 201213 yr I have left a note in front of my PC at home to remind me to purchase the 737-200 when I finish work  Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
December 14, 201213 yr Their 737-200 is definitely the best ever made and i doubt Milviz version will come close. CS just needs to get one thing in their minds: FINISH THE DAMN PLANES before making new ones. Really. There are so many easily fixable tiny irritating bugs that would take a week to solve and turn incomplete planes into masterpieces... Wish you did more (like ZIP Airlines hint hint). Thanks for sharing your work with us un-talented people... Al Stiff
December 14, 201213 yr Commercial Member So, those that own the 777, 1. Can you use the autopilot functions? 2. Enough thrust to take off? 3. Anything that would prevent hand-flying (not a systems guy) 4. Are there any liveries with the purchase Otherwise, I'll just stick with my little 732 for now. I'm quite happy with that. I just here about too many little nagging bugs all the time about CS models.
