September 12, 201312 yr I beg to differ. No doubt there is some competition, it is of my opinion that both have different pros and cons. I believe that people that are a great fan of FS2Crew will continue to enjoy FS2Crew more than MCE, and vice versa. I wonder if Bryan feels the same right now! September 12, 201312 yr I wonder if Bryan feels the same right now! I am sure he does. There appears to be a lot of respect between FS2CREW and MCE and rightly so. I doubt fs2crew would have been interested in doing this as they charge for every single aircraft they support. They added raas to the axe because it works in a lot of aircraft and hopefully people would buy the full version after trying it out. Mce works with a lot more aircraft than fs2crew so they are doing the same, release a locked version with the axe and if people want it for other aircraft they buy it. There is no written rule that says developers must only package or release from certain other developers and lock everyone else out. In most countries it is illegal. The axe is still open, and this will make it quite a package. Sent from my Mobile thing Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
September 12, 201312 yr Is there still the same limitation about storing company routes - that they must always be composed of airways, not DCT's? Petraeus
September 12, 201312 yr I use FS2Crew for the NGX and J41 and was just about ready to buy FS2Crew for the AXE as well, but then I heard about this. I've no experience with MCE, so could anyone who have used both please try to explain the differences if possible? Pros/cons etc... Mce works with all those aircraft for one package, you don't have to pay extra per aircraft. Fs2crew has full recording of sentences which sound terrific, having watched the videos, but mce doesnt use full sentences recorded, so the sentences sound "stitched up words", they do it this way so there are basically no limits to what answers you can get from your first officer, and it can support multiple aircraft like my Q400, Aerosoft Catalina, the Simcheck A300, hopefully the Milviz 732? And many others, you can also change the checklists and your flows, use it with default atc or some of the atc packs, and it runs outside of fsx so it doesn't take up any vas at all. It has a free demo, but the gui is very different to fs2crew so some people get stuck. If you are happy with fs2crew stick with it, it is a very good product. If you think you can use voice with just about your entire fleet of aircraft and create your own flows and checklists, try mce. These days simmers are spoilt for choice! September 12, 201312 yr Thanx for the explaination! I'll give MCE a go with the 1.15patch and se what it gives me before I decide whether to go for the FS2Crew version or not. I really like what they've done with NGX version though, even if its the same flows and responses everytime. September 12, 201312 yr I must admit when I tried the MCE demo a few weeks back I wasn't too impressed by the manner in which the copilot responded, especially when attempting checklists. Some of it seemed tongue in cheek and not really what I was hoping for. FS2Crew is what I'm used to and is tailored to the aircraft. It follows official procedures and seems more structured and professional.

Additionally there's an unlocked demo version available from MCE that works with any aircraft during a 4-day-trial period. Looking at FS2Crew you can study the online manual for the AAX edition by following the link provided in your AAX Configurator (use the version from the latest AAX hotfix). What happened to AVSIM
September 15, 201312 yr Hi All I wonder if someone could help me with a problem I'm having entering flight plans into the Airbus? I have the same AIRAC cycle in my FSBuild and the Airbus, but when I try and enter flightplans the quick way by using the airways, I often get the "NOT ALLOWED" message in the FMC (sorry, Boeing term I know...MCDU possibly?!). But then when I manually enter each waypoint, it has no trouble with the waypoints. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? I would say pretty much every flightplan so far, there's been at least one airway/waypoint combo that throws the NOT ALLOWED message up, and I have to do it the long way. Thanks
September 15, 201312 yr MCE is about 3 leagues down from the major league of FS2Crew in my opinion. If you pay no mind whatsoever to the quality and importance of sound within your sim, then maybe MCE will cut it for you. For me, well I have tried demon, watched old and new videos for it and all I hear is chopped up, jerky, often overlapping audio files, often with words recorded at differing levels, or with stress on the wrong words. The engine is essentially great and the ability to create yout own checklists and functionality it soo........... but they need to take a serious look at the timings and audio file usage to stop it sounding like a cross between metal mickey and Wall-E has become your First Officer...... FS2Crew on the other hand is just so beautifully rendered, audio-wise, that it it really suspends the disbelief when you interact with their voice engine. Just individual views, I know others rate MCE.
