JS41 - SP2 request details

Wow....I thought that this was simulation game...this sounds like the laundry list for the new Boeing Dreamliner...lol.

flying_bob you should take up designing aircraft for this sim. I don't even know a quarter of what you are talking about.

Marton-

As has been described in both public and private exchanges previously:

The JS4100 is a "light" product that was never intended to meet the same standards as the NGX. I have thousands of hours flying this airplane and serving as the Fleet Chief Pilot for what was at the time, the worlds largest assemblage of JS4100 type airplanes. You are working with some information that is simply incorrect, or that is outdated based upon changes made to the airplane while in service. Either way, our simulation product is nearly four years old- so even those items that we agree upon are not likely to be fixed as the development agenda has moved on.

I recognize that this frustrates you, but this is the reality of circumstances. It is unfortunate that your need for attention has rendered you unwelcome by PMDG staff.

PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM

You can find us at:  http://forum.pmdg.com

Regardless of PMDG's descision on an SP2, the list is useful for those who may care about such things. Thanks for posting it.

I agree, some stuff outside of the normal spectrum is very detailed. But I guess listing it just responds to the aiming point of the company, right? And I personally find it useful.

Keep in mind that flying_bob was quoting another member's post which got deleted. At least I can't find it anymore. So this may explain the notion to put it up (again). Since the J41 fan (me is one!) requests on another SP started back in 2009, together with the reports about e.g. graphical issues on the icing feature which came with SP1, I think it's still valid to inform about the status. Unchanged since right after SP1 (2009).

And I don't even blame anyone for using the rather dreaded 'promises' phrase by the way. http://forum.avsim.n...p/#entry1850629

However, I think the company made it clear that there isn't anything to expect on a further J41 development/fixing. Still, this suggestion makes sense to me and surely wouldn't hurt.

I totally understands the point of view of PMDG.. but also the point of view of people that thinks this plane with a little push could become the NGX of the turboprops, and is a shame leave the plane like it is even if it were 8 years old, because it don't seems to be like 4 years old. It looks from today.

I understand PMDG don't have the people (or person) to stay 1 month (or whatever) in a plane that is 4 years old. Of course all is a matter of money. And that is the point. If PMDG could make not an sp2 but a new program as A2A makes in their planes would be nice. Something like an Accusim of the planes already exist from PMDG. A maintenance system that would make the plane alive again so PMDG would receive money from that PMDGSim addom for all its planes, and we would enjoy farther the planes we like. Not all we like 737's nor 777. There are virtual pilots that loves these type of planes that flies lower and in short period of time (we are parents that have to take care of our babies and don't have time to fly 5 hours long-houls 777s (lol!!)

The NGX introduced the maintenance system. I think not so many people uses it (or I am mistaken) but fly is not just know their systems but take a look at them if they are going good.. And the next step after the cessnas, Moneys, etc to jump to the 737 and later the 777 is the Jetstream you have.

Don't toucht the plane (well finally you should code something insise it) but make a new PMDGsim addom that would introduce a new level to all your planes as A2A do. You would see an increase of copies, sure.

Thanks

Pd: it is not imposible to make a weather radar. Now with OPUS is possible. OPUS, PMDG, A2A and ORBX are companies that breaks the imposibles.. and that is because they have the push of their costummers. And that doesn't mean only money. It means challenge to make new things and go farther than before. That is because we started to fly. Come on PMDG!! Push it harder! (777 is fine but...... yeee... ok..... computers fly..... well..... sure.. good money......)

I only paid $35 for the boxed version at J&R and I love the heck out of it. Now finish the 777 please.....

This includes flashing triangles in the VC (this is an FSX animation overload issue that is system specific and not something we can "fix" except by removing the icing and rain effects from the windshield, which is what the Config Manager's "Medium" setting already does).

Regarding the flashing going on when the icing effects are on I found this worked for me and totally solved the issue with the icing effects on:

After applying the dx10 fix for the rain effect in fs and then swicthing back to dx9 I found that the problem was gone for good!

I never got the flashing again.

Cheers,

David

What its that rain fix? Link?

great! seems that it fixed! (well it has to be tested for lots of flights to see if it is going good. Thankyou very much!

No its not but it wont be a realistic one at that, rather have one thats realistic and will show where the rain is actually is

I've been considering purchasing this add-on but PMDG's comments have put me off a little.

How many of the issues in the original post are likely to affect a relatively casual user, I wonder?

Buy it. The OPs list is excellent but none of the issues affect a casual user. This is the best turboprop sim available, a bit complex but not overwhelming, beautiful VC, flies wonderfully.
