Great! I´ll give it a go tonight!

Might be time for a sale to sway the fence riders.

LOL....I think that considering how complex this project is and customer service that is way above most developers, then the current price is a sale price! These guys not only deserve your financial support, they have earned it!! Less cost than some of the newer planes and when compared to ORBX's upcoming world wide texture program for about a 100.00 USD really shows what a deal it is.

The one thing that has held me bacfrom taking the plunge k is the number of recorded airline call signs. I understand that it would be a huge undertaking to add every obsxure Tier III or charter carrier, but I remember looking at a list of available call signs and Westjet, a fairly sizable airline wasn't included. I spend a lot of my sim time flying Westjet NGX's, it would be tough to keep hearing "whiskey Juliet alpha".

What's worse from a management standpoint is because they are using user created voice packs, there is a lack of quality control, especially with callsigns. For example your pilot voice may include the callsign in it's voice pack, while the controller voice won't have it. So you get the scenario of a pilots request for Southwest 1234 and get the response with Sierra-Whiskey-Alpha 1234.

Thanks

Those are all moot points right now. Im not worried about voice packs right now. That will eventually get sorted out, and is not critical to a complete computer ATC flight.   What we need to work on and provide feedback for as users is to get ATC procedures in line and working properly.

They are working hard to recitify these issues and listen and the updates come occasionally which is alot more than other devs, but right now this program is more for European flyers. It is just tailored and working better in Europe, and the North American logic just doesnt work well at all. Nothing against Europeans by the way, i have dual citizenship there as well.

But until it gets sorted out and its understood, dont expect to get proper procedures within North America.

I decided to purchase with the new update 1.2, and after seeing alpha117's videos.

I thought they were very professional and honest. Bringing me off the fence.

This program has so many positives.

Really like the flight planner and with the help of alphas videos.

I was creating plans in minutes.

I am flying just a few routes still to get the hang of it

What's interesting for me is that combined with OPUS I am being assigned different runways according to the weather.

Predictable and matching AI.

ProATC Chatter works great for me too.

Thanks to Ralph Zimmerman's audio chatter pack for NA .

I hated listening to FSX atc talking to AI with the same message over and over again.

The integrated flight saving feature is fantastic !!!

What a pleasant surprise this was.

I use it every flight to either save a situation or load one.

Now I can load a situation ready for taxi to runway and then after TOC

load another situation prior to decent.

All within the same flight. WOW !!

I have had a few issues, some my fault

and others may be things that still need to be fixed

but I do know this is a complex program and so far I like what I see from Pointsoft

ProATC-X really enhances my flight sim experience.

I put it in my must have list !!

Thanks alpha117, keep those videos coming !   :-)

Cheers

Steve

Hmmm, I did a test flight last night, and I wasn't too happy with the result. Flight plan info page of the in game menu showed me the correct predicted runway at destination airport EDDK, ILS 32R, which I was assigned to later on during descend, but the approach controller told me to use the KOPAV1V STAR, while on the flight info page KOPAV1C was shown. Also, I was commanded to start my descend much too early again. It worked really nicely before the update, but yesterday, ATC told me to descend 80nm before the calculated T/D in the NGX. So I descended with V/S -1000 ft/m most of the time, to avoid being at FAF altitude 50 nm out of the airport. Other than that, I had some serious stutters during approach, especially when the voices were played back, I am not sure why that happened.

How does Pro ATC X cooperate with FS2Crew? I, as pilot flying give commands to the pilot monitoring (copilot) who answers with the FS2Crew voice. The radio communication is also done by the pilot monitoring, which is done by Pro ATC X. So there will be three different voices from the cockpit? (my own voice, and two pilot monitoring voices (FS2Crew and Pro ATC X)?) Is it like that?

And if so, is it possible to arrange that Pro ATC X uses the same voice as FS2Crew? If Pro ATC X and FS2Crew use the same voice, it would be contributing to a realistic experience in an aircraft flown by two pilots.

Hi Michael

Have you tried ticking the 'Manual descent initialization (TOD)'  in the options

When ticked, controllers will not assign lower altitudes before you have requested to initialize the descent – not even if TOD has been reached! Once initialized it will continue in the same way as if this option was not ticked.
