March 20, 201313 yr I think the new update is really good and can see how much work has gone into it. If I fly without it now FSX just doesn't feel the same. When I first took the plunge it was with my eyes wide open and I was fully aware of where the software had got to. It's shortfalls therefore didn't cause me to get annoyed like you would if it was marketed as a finished product. With each regular update it just keeps getting better. I can fully appreciate that buying software in development is a concept which involves a degree of trust, patience and understanding and can understand why some would rather play the waiting game. Keep up the good work Devs! Like you I can see the potential this has.
March 20, 201313 yr Aircraft Supported All default FSX. PMDG-737 NGX PMDG-747 PMDG-MD11 PMDG-JS41 Aerosoft-Airbus X Extended All QualityWings Any chance in the future that FSLabs ConcordeX could be added to the supported list. Thank You Best, David
March 20, 201313 yr What does it mean that an aircraft is supported? I fly the Turbine Duke and the Citation Mustang mostly right now. Also fly Carenado. Do they not work with this product? March 21, 201313 yr Author For those not familar with the product, the feature list that says 'Aircraft Supported', just means that a flightplan generated by ProAtc can be imported directly into the FMC. You can use any aircraft you want. This major update also pays more attention to GA although I havnt tested it personally. March 21, 201313 yr Can someone explain to me why, with all these interesting atc programs, NOBODY uses the default voicepack? The default atc might be junk, but editvoicepack makes the default voicepack very great and lightyears ahead of all of these addons. Honestly that's the thing holding me back. Why not make your atc addon use the default voicepack and I will purchase!
March 21, 201313 yr Commercial Member As already stated ProATC/X supports every aircraft. The list above just means that those aircraft do not use the standard FSX flight plan format, therefore ProATC/X has to 'generate' these different formats so they can be read by the FMC/MCDU. V1.2.0.1 will be released shortly, this fixes some issues in V1.2 and some other additions that users have asked for. Clive Joy

Also, please understand that when I listed the things I look for in an ATC program above, I wasn't ciritizing...I was just voicing my needs/wants. FSX ATC frustrates me as does another third party ATC addon I bought. I am definitely looking for something better. Gregg Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. March 21, 201313 yr Commercial Member Hi Gregg No problems. ProATC/X at this stages offers most of what you are looking for and will offer all of what you are after and more besides. It just takes time. V1.2 has been a 'big' release and the feedback so far for the users has been very good. Pop over to the ProATC/X forum and have a look around, that is if you haven't already done so! http://www.pointsoftware.de/proatcx_e/index.html I'd like to see how it measures up against FSX. FSX's good points: Doesn't crash FSX..................normally that is caused by other things within user setups Doesn't affect framerates................no adverse effects, again depends on users system Interacts with AI............................Currently only airbourne, ground AI coming VERY shortly Vectors to final are, generally, good.......Even better in V1.2 Handles VFR...............................................Coming Handles SIDs/STARs if you put the fixes in....as per AIRAC DATA Handles all aircraft...not just specific ones......ALL aircraft FSX's bad points: Frequency bounces......Not In ProATC Let's go of VFR departures quite quickly limited choices for approaches (no full IAP)...Nope, as per AIRAC DATA Sometimes vectors you into terrain.....Not in V1.2 Traffic calls are rarely useful............need to update these to RW callsigns etc No practice IAP approaches (something military and GA do quite a bit)............Coming Can't ask to leave VFR pattern or for a full stop....Coming No altitude/speed restrictions...no holds...turns for separation...other things that are typical that ATC does...Altitude restrictions yes, other coming shortly No realistic class B, C, D handling (no VFR routes, restrictins, etc.)....coming Personally, I don't care about other features. An ATC program doesn't have to have all of this but it should do better than the FSX ATC. RW, ATC really doesn't care much about alternates. Most of the time the flight plan pops out of a computer and is just read off. They may assign a preferred or TEC route. If you ask for practice approaches you're given a clearance, heading and altitude...you can switch from ILS to VOR to ILS to GPS So ProATC/X is getting to were you want it to be and it will be sooner rather than later thanks Clive Joy
March 21, 201313 yr Anyone got missed approaches working with this 1.2 update ? In theory when I declare a missed approach pro/atc should vector me back to the airport (actually to the waypoint before the faf) but it never happens here, Proatc just tells me to climb to 4000-5500 ft and then goes silent.- :(
March 21, 201313 yr Moderator Elevation data for waypoints can now be downloaded optionally (GoogleMaps). This enables PRO-ATC/X to calculate a proper Top Of Descent (TOD), which also prevents collisions with mountains. Therefore we recommend to enable this option. This is my biggest complaint about the product, I've been vectored into mountains before and also told to descend over 100NM out from the FMC's calculated TOD straight down to 1000ft over 80NM from the airport. If they've fixed this then I'll be a happy chappy :-)
March 21, 201313 yr Yes, voice is coming, Alpha117, Does this mean i can use it with mce soon after it? or is it pro atc x's own voice control program? It is on hold for now on the mce forum (and you're a user too ) Regards John John Cramer

March 21, 201313 yr and does this thing run on a networked PC?I have the same question as Dirk (see above). On top of that, I have a couple of my own: 1) Is there a demo available? I'm currently using 2 other ATC programs and both of them vector me into the terrain. I would like to see if ProAtc can handle it. (If anyone is interested, here is my test flight: FL190 LSZH DEGES Z2 OSDOV M738 MADEB N606 ELMEM LOWI) 2) This one is more of a "nice to have". Does ProAtc support North Atlantic tracks? With PFPX release around the corner, I would like to replicate a ETOPS flight from Just Planes video: Air Canada A319 from St John's to London to St John's. Thanks! (With AI ground handling and voice support planned, I'm now seriously interested in ProATC) Jarkko Puustinen (FSX live streamer, YouTuber) http://www.twitch.tv/virtualfreightdog http://www.youtube.com/user/VirtualFreightDog
March 21, 201313 yr I would also like to know if ProATC can run on a networked WideFS or Simconnect-Client PC connection. In addition to full AI interaction which sounds like is in progress, running on networked PC is also a must. Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
