Ryan I think they're in tube liner country.

I am surprisingly more addicted to GA, lets me look in all the windows of the autogen buildings (or tents). :)

Baytower RV-7 is really a blast, a little pocket rocket; wish those guys (guy?) would do more.

For me definitely the PMDG 737. All though I've got back into the MD 11 lately. I can't wait for the 747 V2.

Of the (limited number of) aircraft I own, my favorites are the Flight1 C510 and PMDG B747, though I am enjoying my latest purchase, the RealAir Legacy.

I'm confused...  Isn't this thread about user's definition of "the best addon?"

Indeed - as I post, keep that firmly in mind!

I do own FSX. And P3D. and I've tried XP 10. I do enjoy MSFlight... so I am not necessarily coming from an ignorant perspective as some on the FSX forum may try to represent me...

But my Best Addon was Aerosofts Freight Dogs for FS9. It was my first payware addon and thousands of dollars later, it is still the best value and the best product for the money. It includes 6 detailed airports (state of the air for their time - and they are still OK, though not up to ORBX standards) in two spruced up regions of Alaska (done by Holger Sandmann) with full-featured portions of Aerosofts Beaver and Beech 18 (again state-of-the-art for their time) and a stripped version on FSCargo - all for $20. So - 6 awesome airports, 6 awesome planes, and mission-generator. Still fly them, into and out of the

Never seen such value in an addon before or since. Wish someone would be that kind again to us poor over-charged hobbiests in the world of FS!

I have many flying 'moods'  Thus have different favorites depending on what flying 'genre' I feel like exploring.  These selections are my favorites for their given genre.

This is the 'starting lineup' of my FS 'All-star' team.  Accu-feel is a major 'ingredient' for this fun.

A2A P-40 and Civil P-51 (all accusim birds are awesome!) for warbird fun

Baytower RV-7 for 'do it all'  GA fun

Real Air Legacy for x-country/IFR practice fun

Real Air Turbine Duke for turboprop fun

Classic Hangars Taifun for exotic vintage GA fun

Alabeo Waco YMF for Biplane fun

A2A Cub for 'simplicity of flying' fun

Real Air Scout for bushflying/amphib fun

A2A 377 for vintage propliner fun

PMDG NGX for short haul tubeliner fun

PMDG MD-11 for long haul tubeliner and freight dog fun

Aerosoft Discus BM with Cumulus X for soaring fun

Lotus L-39C for eastern bloc jet fun

VRS F-18 Superbug for military jet fun

Dodosim 206 for trying to figure out flying a chopper fun.

For sceneries, my favorite scenery and location to fly is FTX New Zealand (north and south)

Favorite utilities - Maarten Boelen's SimLauncher program and Pete Dawson's FSUIPC.

Cheers

Ryan, as I wrote that last night I wondered, for a second, if you'd understand my meaning. I figured you would. :(

It's just that the OP and subsequent posters were drooling over 'airborne charabancs' and you came from a different direction. As the kids say, 'My bad'

As it happens, I'd also go for any one of half a dozen GAs

Legacy

RV7

BirdDog

C337

Turbine Duke

and whatever happens to be my favourite of the week. (This week, Carenados Centurion 210)

The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

It seems that TJ is having a lot of fun haha!

I totally agree!

I loved Freight Dogs from Aerosoft; so much better than the likes of Air Hauler, because it placed actual cargo ramp areas into your scenery, with visible cargo that would then disappear once loaded into your plane.    And similarly at the other end you could see the cargo that you'd just hauled.   It was a fantastic add-on that really gave purpose and a lot of fun to FS9, and I would buy it in a heartbeat if it were available for FSX.

I think we should start a campaign for Aerosoft to develop and release Freight Dogs X  !!

If FS aint fun, I might as well be playing computer Solitaire

Agreed. The screenshots of the 787 do it no justice.

I wonder if the q400 from majestic will be better...  If so I would be shocked.

I came in a little late to the VRS party, but for overall enjoyment, quality, detail, the Superbug is simply incredible. Can't get enough of it at the moment.

The maddog 2010 is not even a true FSX addon.  Epic fail.

The best aircraft addon for FSX is easily the PMDG NGX, probably replaced by the 777 when it comes out.  I put the A2A Civilian P-51 Mustang at #2.
