Hello. I was wondering on peoples impressions with this aircraft. The NGX has set my standard very high and I'm curious if this addon is up to that standard. Especially since PMDG are releasing a Dash 8 if my memory serves me correctly.

You will find she is right up there with the NGX. If you like looks, you will love this plane.

 

If you like they way excellent addons handle, you will like this a lot. Hand flying is a joy, it has an Autopilot, but really only LNAV. The VNAV is not like the ngx at all.

 

It is well worth it. They are also releasing a pro version soon to add shared cockpit for it, failures and other things. Majestic is doing awesome things with this bird. One of the best and most used addons I have. I fly it exclusively for my VA.

Agree with William - this is one fantastic aeroplane. If you expect NGX quality from your addons than this will not disappoint. Its extremely well done and has excellent performance frame wise.

I agree with both the above comments and you get to fly to many smaller airports and it's great for flying to London City

One of the best ever.   Beats the NGX for me, but of course it's all subjective.

Can I just ask why you posted in the PMDG Support Forum?

Ok guess Im gonna buy it right now . So I guess its' vnav works like the JS4100 in that you control pitch?

Fantastic, as you can probably tell from my signature, I love it. Very detailed, looks fantastic, and is up there in regards to NGX quality. I find it much more challenging to fly than the NGX.

I thought it could be an interesting discussion seeing as PMDG are releasing the same aircraft. I got the impression this was a insta buy so I did just that. However if the census gave the impression to wait for PMDG's than I would have done that.

PMDG's Dash 8 is basically dead, to all intents and purposes (this has been covered elsewhere so I'll not delve in to this further). PMDG might do a Q300 at some point, but we're talking many years away as they've got the 777, DC-6 and 747 to release first. And they could have unannounced projects that are higher priority.

 

The Majestic Q400 is great and definitely up to PMDG standards (in some cases it's actually better). Just like the real Q400, there is VNAV but only for descents, however it can be coupled to the autopilot.

It's just that RSR, Tabs, etc prefer that discussion of other products is done in general AVSIM forums or forums dedicated to those products, which is fair enough.

Frooglepete has done a couple of  detailed  youtube videos. PMDG relevant as he is a beta tester for the 777
