August 31, 201312 yr I am envious of companies that can refine a product until they feel it is ready for release. In the IT department of the large telecom where I work we have four releases each year at specified dates (we already know our release schedule for 2014). We release our software come Hell or high water on those dates. My group has an excellent defect rate in the company of 0.8 per 100 hours of development. But that means that, in an 8000 hour development cycle, we deliver 64 defects in each release (256 per year). And even for things that are not defects, we have to release code that we wish we could spend more time tuning and improving. If the "now, now" people had any appreciation of the high quality of your (and many other company's) software they would fall on their knees and thank you for waiting until you had all of your show-stoppers resolved and the product met your standards for release. August 31, 201312 yr Thanks for all the hard work pmdg!! I still believe it will be an October release. In a system this complex the odds of finding another bug is probably pretty high. Thanks Tony Slattery
August 31, 201312 yr Some people just need to give PMDG a break it will be released when it is ready. Ryan Murphy

August 31, 201312 yr It's probably ready, but being a long weekend they don't want to be bothered with all issues if they did release it this weekend. I say Tuesday at 7am PST is the big day.... Kin M (Klax)
August 31, 201312 yr I'm going to use this small delay to put some of my money in the pocket of PFPX dev's. PMDG can have more of it next week. Thanks fellas, hope you get a break this weekend. Cheers, Rob \Robert Hamlich/
August 31, 201312 yr Author Commercial Member Gents- (Well... and that guy who can't seem to remember to sign his posts... him too... I suppose....) I have to tell you that I really appreciate your understanding on our decision to hold the release until we could properly assure that we had fixed the problem. Tonight, I have flown the airplane KLAX-KSFO-KBOS-KIAD... (had to be home tonight... you know how it is...) and for the first time in a while I can say that I think we are finished. I found two little minor picky items I am going to fix in the morning- because I can. B) In about 24hrs we are going to build what I expect to be the final release version... and then we will give the Tech and Beta teams a few days to make CERTAIN we didn't miss anything truly bad. For those who wonder: we have about 60 people using the airplane and reporting back. Some of these guys are flying short hops like I did tonight... and some are flying 16 hour legs in real time. Why would they do this? To help us make sure it works. I had the good fortune to be at UAL when we brought the 777 into service- and I had the good fortune to be around this airplane during a good portion of my UAL career. You all know that my heart is evenly split between the 744 and the DC-3, but darn if this thing isn't a blast to fly.... You guys are going to absolutely LOVE this airplane. I promise. Thanks again for the words of encouragement and the patience... It is almost in your hands! Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
August 31, 201312 yr Outstanding...Very excited to get my hands on this bird, now back to Nick's great review video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tAJ4qz_BYw&feature=youtu.be  Jeff Hendershot"Roger, Roger...What's Our Vector, Victor?"
August 31, 201312 yr I had the good fortune to be at UAL when we brought the 777 into service- I was too! It was quite the sight when it came into SFO for pre-service. Of course it was all roped off and inaccessible to us peons, but I did soon after get to go to the two-week 777 Systems Intro course and then work on it briefly before I moved to a 744 crew. Fun plane. Congratulations on the upcoming release, Rob! Walter Meier
August 31, 201312 yr I really do appreciate all the hard work you guys do. I have all the products except for the 1900C. But I will believe it when I see it. Thanks Tony Slattery
August 31, 201312 yr I don't understand why everyone is getting so bent out of shape. For such a complex airplane, the development time was not very long. John Bauer
August 31, 201312 yr Do it right or don't do it at all. I wish some other devs shared the same montra.
