To save HD space and to prevent confusion later on you might delete the files in the FSX folder manually. It's not really necessary but I would do it anyway.

No, go to http://www.strikingsoftware.com/downloads.shtml ..... the file on the bottom of the page "SHD Wave Animation for DX10"

Hi There

I downloaded it and copied those files over.. now the waves and water animation are nice. However the color is a tad light...I prefer dark/deep blue Ocean waters..

Now can I still use REX to copy over water textures but keep this wave animation?

How would I go about doing this?

Uncheck wave animations in REX and make sure the ocean and other water textures are checked (in the Options tab).  They're two separate things.

AMD Ryzen 9950X3D | Asrock X870E Taichi | Gigabyte Gaming OC 4090 w/EK waterblock | Full Custom Loop Cooling | Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5-6000 | Samsung & WD NVME/SSDs | Phanteks Enthoo 719 | Seasonic Vertex Gold 1200W | Keychron Q5 Max | Corsiar Scimitar Elite SE Wireless | Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo | Logitech Pro Flight Pedals | VKB Gladiator Pro NXT L&R handed | MiniCockpit MiniFCU | Alienware AW34DWF | Asus PG279Q | Win 11 Pro

Installing those files did nothing to help wave animation in DX10 mode on my PC.

I thought DX10 and Dubai only had the light issue and with the new files givin  to us by George, that fixed it.

I just flew into OMDB Dubai again ( Dawn) and I see shiney airport.. Is it just for me or or this a known issue?

Everything seems to be working fine with mine...the only problem I have is my frame rates seemed to have dropped and stutters a little. I'm sure its something in the way I set it up. I have nvinspector and so I'm not sure if that is set up right. I also don't have the rain option with in fixer its greyed out will not let me select it. But on a side note I do get cock pit shadows with the pmdg 737...

Try disabling the DX10 Lights effects conversion and retest. I've found that there are numerous 'particulate' effects - smoke, spray, touchdown smoke etc. that have been adversely effected by the conversion. They sneak in and impact your VC view FPS even though you can't see them. I've built a long list of these types of effects to add to the DX10 Scenery exclude list. Omitting complex effects from DX10 lights conversion may also help you.

I'm not real sure how to do that..could you explain please.???

Can you post the list? How do I disable the effect?

Anything new on the update announced back on October 10th by Steve?

Guys, do I need to uninstall dx fixer before updating it?

Thanks,

Dirk.
