November 4, 201312 yr So, in conclusion, there is non chance to add VC shadows to NGX or 777? I activated properly in MD11 and works great, it's a shame NGX/777 don't support them. Riccardo OS: Windows 10-64 bit, CPU: i7-7700K @4.20 GHz, GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 8GB GDDR5, RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB 3000MHz, MB: MSI Z270
December 3, 201312 yr Well, i am quite happy for the moment with the way FSX is performing and benefiting form the DX10 fixer However, I am dissapointed that only the J41 benefits from the VC shadowing. This is not just something nice too have. It will rapidly become an obligatory feature of any serious future aircraft addon now that there is no excuse anymore to ignore this with DX10 preview fixed in FSX, PRD3D with DX11 (and XP10 supports it too) I really hope that PMDG finds a solution for their NGX, T7 and 747 V2 Antoine v Heck --- Ryzen 5800X3D, 32Gb DDR4 RAM@1600 Mhz, RTX3090 (24GB VRAM). 2TB SSD - VR with Quest 2 via link cable
February 5, 201412 yr Sorry to wake up this old thread but I was pointed here by Steve after asking the same question about virtual cockpit shadows in the NGX. Just wanted to ask if someone ever asked PMDG again if they could consider to look into this and if so what the answer was? Really a pitty having such a great aircraft but no way to add this feature now available after the release of the DX10 Fixer.
February 6, 201412 yr OK, my eyesight isn't too good these days, but I sort of assumed that I was seeing "cockpit shadows" in the 777 with Steve's Fixer (examples ringed, below)? Or are we talking about something different? Cheers, Brian
February 6, 201412 yr Author Cockpit shadows (in this context) are those cast by the airframe model itself onto the interior VC panel (i.e. the window frames, external probes, etc.).
May 7, 201412 yr Has anyone experienced the CaptSim 777 instruments going blank in day mode with DX10 Scenery fixer General Shader Shadows enabled.
May 8, 201412 yr Commercial Member Yes there has been a thread on it - disable Toned Shadows for now. You could now try 2.2 which is available - it has a change for a different Toned Shadows issue which might just change the behaviour in this case. My FSX Analysis Blog
May 9, 201412 yr Hi friends, I have VC shadows in 777 but in my opinion there are a little ragged (but only on some parts of cockipt). Look: For example: on chairs looks ok, but on panels they don't. Is it normal or settings problem? My Fixer settings: Improved Shadows - ticked Reduced falloff with angle - unticked Toned Shadows - ticked Reduce Fade - ticked HD Jet Shadows - ticked Enable shadow boost - 50 Force VC Walls - ticked Surface bias small - 0,04 Surface bias large - default Contrast - 3rd line from left Lucas Lukasz Trzaskowski
July 24, 201411 yr Sorry to revive this thread but after following the directions in scenery fixer, I was able to see shadows in the 777. IMO, they do not look blurry. Pics below. Shadow from the arm rest on F/O's seat Cpt glareshield to the autobreak selector and the F/Os FMC Pretty obvious on this shot... Anyway I'm glad I have it working and I suggest others try it out! July 28, 201411 yr Anyone know how to get rid of these shadows, without getting rid of VC shadows? It seems they are coming from the "Overhead Panel". Ric Elmore
July 29, 201411 yr Ric - have you enabled the "Force VC Walls" option on the Shadow Options page of the Fixer? That has worked for me. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
July 29, 201411 yr Ric - have you enabled the "Force VC Walls" option on the Shadow Options page of the Fixer? That has worked for me. I saw that option and wasn't sure, but now I will check it off, thanks. Ric Elmore
