November 28, 201312 yr FWIW I am totally fine with discounts - I am an early adopter by choice, I have bought the 777 in the early days after release and I would do so even if I knew there would be a discount later on. In the end it's a business decision. Not just about money - as Ryan pointed out, other things go into consideration. I am fine with it either way. --Peter Fabian
November 28, 201312 yr That's a business, no emotions and no compassion. Welcome to capitalism. IMH(!)O, there are worse examples for 'the dark side of capitalism' than PMDG ... What happened to AVSIM
November 28, 201312 yr "Compassion" is an element in pricing for a video game and you're going to be emotionally damaged if we don't sell you a simulated 777 for less money on Friday? Seriously? We're exactly not talking about a life necessity here. As someone above pointed out - some blowout sale every year would be incredibly unfair to all the people who purchased it at the regular price and I can virtually guarantee we'd catch all kinds of crap from people for it. Stable pricing has worked well for us for a long time, we're not going to start using gimmicks. I'm not sure you understood my posts, I'll try to be perfectly clear: You said this is a business for you, and I agree it should be, with such a serious projects; I'm glad it works well, and I do not complain at your business model. It's also business for me, and I do not give compassion to anyone paid a higher price for same product. Why would I do? Also, I do not feel any emotion for you as a company, I'm not your fаnbоу nor your empoyee. If I like the product and price is acceptable - I'll buy it, and vice-versa. IMH(!)O, there are worse examples for 'the dark side of capitalism' than PMDG ... PMDG is not dark side of capitalism at all. What I think about modern capitalism is different subject, but in this world you adjust or you fail. I've purchased 777 1 week after release and I don't see why I'll be upset if you will start reducing prices, it's your business, I can't tell you what to do with your business. It's like I'll buy a new car for 30000$ and two weeks later that car will drop it's price to 25000$, it will be my bad luck and another one good luck! I won't go and shoot the seller. November 28, 201312 yr Right, black Friday is the Friday after thanksgiving (thanksgiving is the last Thursday of November), which is traditionally one of the biggest shopping days of the year in the united states. Its the start of the holiday shopping season and many stores have sales to entice people to come make purchases. We also have cyber Monday which is the Monday after thanksgiving where the focus is on online sales. Now a swede will correct you . Thanksgiving is the fourth thursday of November. A. Lincoln declared thanksgiving as a national holiday 1863 and decided it should be last thursday of November. 1939 Roosevelt decided to move it to one week later, but due to wild protest (it was called Franksgiving) he moved it back to the fourth thursday in November. Sorry for all misspellings, english is my third language. Mikael Johansson
November 28, 201312 yr Actually it was supposed to move one week sooner (and 1929? I think?), but the point stands. --Peter Fabian
November 28, 201312 yr I suppose everyone knows this but just in case... The reason it is 'black' is because that one day, apparently, gets the retailers books out of the red. - Knowledge is Power! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I sure have much to be thankful about.

Sorry for all misspellings, english is my third language. Hmm never paid much attention. My answer was based on the Lincoln date since I am currently reading Team of Rivals and it talks about his decision to set one Thanksgiving date and the fact that thanksgiving usually ends up falling on the last Thursday of the month, but you are correct and once in awhile it does end up not being the last thursday. Thank you for correcting me as I got to learn something today!
November 28, 201312 yr Not true. Where else can you buy a 777 cockpit (minus the hardware) for about $100? Matthew Bellette

November 28, 201312 yr Of course, in the same way a Picasso is just a bunch of pigment on a canvas... Together they're worth MAYBE 5$. Great analogy, there. Try harder next time. Yeah, I can get quite poisonous when people try to devalue somebody's work... Name available upon request

November 28, 201312 yr As far as I remember, The PMDG 777 is already on sale...!!! PMDG even drastically reduced it's price - unseen before in aviation industry - from -- if I remember correctly around $160.000.000 to the now standing ~ $100.- Now don't tell me that's not a real big discount! regards liketofly Just my 2 cent's ____________________________________________________Richard Oberwinkler

Yeah, I can get quite poisonous when people try to devalue somebody's work... Is that the most poisonous you can get? Try harder next time. A photo of Picasso's paint is just a photo, no matter it was made by top notch photographer. One cannot buy Boeing 777 cockpit for $100 nowhere. Not even at PMDG store. As far as I'm concerned, I bought an entertainment software, not a Boeing 777 cockpit. Lj.
