What a mistake I made....

Whatcha wanna bet he didn't do a pre-flight inspection and had water in the fuel?  Or didn't do a runup and had fouled spark plugs?  Or even had broken elevator hinges or linkage?

Since the last update, people have been caught out not doing inspections.  "My airspeed indicator shows zero!"  "Did you remove the pitot cover before flight?"  "... oh."

I cannot believe this!!  You had to be watching me as I tried to start (or should I say "fire up") the aircraft!    You forgot to mention, "He forgot to read the manual too!!"  Every so often though I look in my hangar and say, "wow!  I should bring this out and try it again!"  Then reality hits and I head on over to the golf course.   I have only read many good things about this product though and fully intend to pull it out of my hangar some day soon.

Jim,

You should join us in the Back Country Prop Club for an afternoon one day.

Ron (Attwood) was great help aiding me to get the (A2A) C172 engine to start for the first time. :Big Grin:

When we're there (Teamspeak) it's around 4 - 6pm  EST.

Good idea Rob!  I'll have to take a rain check but maybe others who are having issues might want to take you up on your offer.

Best regards,

Jim

What do you mean?

I hope you understand my comments were more tongue-in-cheek than serious.  But it is a great product for really getting immersed into flight simming!

You forgot to mention, "He forgot to read the manual too!!"

Ohhhh... in that case you probably didn't know to leave the mixture in idle cutoff when starting, then advance mixture as the engine catches.  This particular fuel injection system is prone to flooding if you don't do that.

Better to watch the A2A videos of starting the engine than trying to figure it out from the manual.

Yes, I should have made that clear... anyone wanting to fly low and slow... GA singles / twins in Orbxland.

(pssst... Ron... tell everyone they're welcome to join)

I only have the A2A J3 and it is a ball. However I do have rw PIC time in the Skyhawk and don't recall any difficulty, great aircraft. But, I always did a good long pre-flight.

It's been a lot of years since I last flew a C172, but in FS it always seems to be my go to when ever I just want to do quick and easy flights or just to checkout new scenery addons. I'm sure if I get the A2A Skyhawk I will get hooked as I enjoy detailed switch-ology and getting true cause/effect from completing a procedure or failing to complete a procedure is value added for me.

And just about everything everyone here mentioned is the reason why I am delaying buying it as much as possible lol.

The A2A C172 and ASN, have given me a new respect for bad weather and small planes!!!

I agree.. ASN makes flying through a storm a lot more realistic.

On a side note, I'm also in love with A2A C172. It is a breath of fresh air in GA department.

Lol, so true.

Ron, I will I will.

Just as soon as P3d releases their sp, that way I learn to fly as I "really" learn to fly.

As I mentioned earlier, I intend to do this along with rw classes as it is about time I got off my lazy bum and went for it.

thanks for the kind words guys. We have some great stuff in the pipeline too and some of it will filter through to the 172 simulation via the core updates.

cheers,
