When I saw those rain effects I almost wet my panties...

An old song comes to mind : "Pleeeeease release me..."

Great weather radar and windshield wipers effect!

IXEG, What about window fogging when Window Heat is turned off and there are temperature/humidity conditions for fogging? It would be a great feature for realism. Some X-Plane add-on aircraft already have this effect.

The rain/Hail effects on the window is so realistic especially after takeoff. Some other plane developers created rain effects in XPX but once in the air it does not show anymore and others even when the wiper is turned on, the water is not removed off the window. But IXEG shows rain effects  on the ground and in the air, and once the wiper is on, the water is removed in addition to hail effects. This add on is top notch.

At 200+ knots i',m not so sure that there would be much left to remove that the wind hasn't already...

Impressive just the same.

It will be interesting to see this airplane on our own pc's/mac's. The video that I watched has me salivating. :). Anyone have any idea of a release date?

Something I have noted in many addond for xpx is the absence of sounds/effects as they "are not heard/sensed in the cockpit". While that may be true, since we are sitting in front of a stationary 2-d screen, the addition of sounds and effects adds to immersion. I'm hoping that we get plenty of immersion in this bird!

Hi and thanks for the nice words, everyone. This type of commentary and constructive criticism is what keeps us going and striving for perfection (through the fourth year, now).

Some replies to the questions:

The windows will start icing over in icing conditions when the windown heat is off. No fogging, though.

We don´t model the boundary-layer thickness variation and impact energy or water droplet consistency at different temperatures - I think this would set us back another few weeks and definitely bust through the target level of this simulation. So while you would see more variation in the visual effect of rain/supercooled water/snow/grain/hail impacting the window at different speeds in the real plane, our effect is pretty simplistic in comparison. I think it does the job very well.

We have plenty of internal discussion about sounds, and there will be another sound quality pass before we release. While I usually lobby for having sounds "realistic", there is also some merit to having sounds enhance the experience in a desktop simulation. One example is the "rrrrrrrr" sound you hear when starting or stopping the engines. It is a substitute for the vibration you can feel when the engines are turning at slower speeds, the real sound of the engines is almost not hearable in the cockpit during the initial stages of an engine start.

Thanks for the feedback, Janov. Your work is just outstanding.

As far as sounds are concerned - I think you did outrageous job there. I love all the clicks when you change the heading on the A/P. But what I love the most are sounds of trim. This creates sssssooooooo much climate in the cockpit.

Anyway - take your time. Your plane is worth waiting for.

are the rotating knobs also adjustable via the mousewheel ?

I really hope so, as operating a complex aircraft such as this by dragging your mouse all over the screen to change a heading or altitude isn't going to go down too well.

are the rotating knobs also adjustable via the mousewheel ?

I don't think so. X-Plane just doesn't work that way. And I think that dragging is not only way more convenient, but it's also more precise. I still remember days with FSX when I had to use mouse all over the cockpit like crazy.

Actually, scroll wheel functionality could be added to the IXEG 737 since it uses Gizmo.  Scroll wheel was added to Gizmo a few months ago, and is relatively easy to add to an add on.

Thanks for your personal opinion but i would like to hear the opinion of someone from IXEG. Carenado and Alabeo already offered the mouse wheel scroll support for XPX 10.30 +
