March 19, 201412 yr Not saying he's guilty or innocent. I'm just saying I don't want the Men in Black knocking on my door asking how long we were friends and can we review your flight routes. no worries mate....All good. Yes he certainly is under the microscope at the moment. Little different down here in ole New Zealand as we don't have the men in black (unless you are Kim Dotcom) Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
March 19, 201412 yr Too bad MS quit with the ACES team.....How you like FSX now MS??? lol Joseph Rogg, Jr Proud Supporter of AVSIM, PMDG, P3D, XP, and others in the FS Community . Flight simming since A2FS1 Flight Simulator (on an 8 bit comp) using 140k micro disks. For those of you who don't know what they are ask your parents :) Praying PMDG brings MD-11 to P3D v4 (7 years and counting) Will be a PMDG customer for life if this happens!
March 19, 201412 yr Holy Cow AVSIM was just on CNN!! They were showing PMDGs post on the matter. Which post?
March 19, 201412 yr Commercial Member AVSIM and PMDG is indeed all over CNN today, recently citing RR's post about the 777 captain. One thing I didn't know, is that the captain was actually an AVSIM user and frequent contributor. (this info came from CNN, so I guess this needs confirmation). I did check if he had purchased any Flightbeam sceneries, unfortunately no, but maybe from others...
March 19, 201412 yr Btw love your KIAD! Just got it. I hope you'll update KSFO to equivalent tech? Would love to have that in ORBX FTX:NCA. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
March 19, 201412 yr Which post? http://forum.avsim.net/topic/436853-pmdg-simulations-comments-on-the-loss-of-mh-370/ What happened to AVSIM
March 19, 201412 yr Mr. Randanzzo should go on CNN and provide his take on it, seems like everyone else has. Think I saw a pro glider on saying it was a Thermal Ridge that swallowed the T7.
March 19, 201412 yr My opinion is they were hijacked. I think the captain is getting a bad rap because he enjoys playing flight sims. Big effing deal; my son plays train sims. I'm also not convinced deleted files have anything to do with him being guilty of hiding something either. I hope everyone is safe but I highly doubt it. I feel the captain put the plane in the water to stop whoever was behind it. Not sure if anyone posted this - I came here today after seeing this article Simulation Maker Responds to Conjecture on Disappearance of Flight 370 But in a statement posted on website of the simulator’s manufacturer, Precision Manuals Development Group, CEO Robert Randazzo said the pilot’s avid interest in flight simulation should not be construed as a sign that he was deliberately involved in altering the aircraft’s course. “As is always the case when something cannot be explained, there are many folks attempting to explain the event to the public using theories, guesswork and good, old-fashioned imagination,” he wrote. “Some of these commentators have focused on Captain Shah’s [cq] love of the flight simulation hobby as a suggestion that he may somehow have played a role in the disappearance of MH 370. Such wild conjecture is not only insulting to those of us who wear or have worn the stripes of a captain, but has the potential to be damaging to the flight simulation hobby.” Mr. Randazzo noted that Capt. Zaharie had used PMDG software but had no part in its development.
March 19, 201412 yr Here's something/ a theory, that actually makes sense http://www.wired.com/autopia/2014/03/mh370-electrical-fire/ John O'Duffyi7 Win7 64 16GB RAM500G SSD FSX Drive 1TB the rest NVIDIA 980Tii PMDG 1900D MD11 JS41 737NGX 777 747 Orbx AS2016 My Repaints on AVSIM https://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=duffy&CatID=root&Go=Search
March 19, 201412 yr Last year, U.S.-based PMDG released the Boeing 777 version of its flight simulator software, which replicates in detail every facet of flying the long-range jetliner—from the exact handling characteristics of the 777 to custom sounds of every knob and switch. Developers of the software have said that a pilot can learn where everything from the window shades to the cup holder to the autopilot disconnect is located before ever touching the actual airplane or entering a full simulator. lol
March 19, 201412 yr I made deviation to save fuel due had to wait at hold short line for a really long time. But fortunately I cannot be tracked as my plane (Tu-154) not use flightplan files, simply it's navigation system NVU are just bits and can't be read by anyone. But I did deviate from my destination, and circled Dubai during approach. Fortunately, I will not be jailed because I do not live in the US police state.
March 19, 201412 yr I wouldn't get too concerned 'bout the flightsim coverage from the networks, if MH370 is still missing a week from now, the whole story will most probably have slipped out of the hourly/daily updates anyway. As of the last few years I no longer watch either CNN or Sky news, no mattter what event is been covered, as I found that sensationalism was the main driving force behind coverage, trying to draw in extra revenue for the advertisers by sucking in more viewers. In my opinion, the biggest danger to simming is probably a lack of interest/awareness in the general populace, leading to fewer developments in the area long term, maybe because people dont have the time, interest, or concentration to spend an hour or more with the sim, rather than spending a few seconds on FB playing angry B's & then switching to something else. Regards, Dave.
