April 7, 201412 yr Moderator And yes, they have already started work on v2.3 and it will have some improvements that folks have asked for. So before you get worried about their silence for the next few months, I can assure you they are working to continue moving the platform forward. Should be made a STICKY on every forum!! April 7, 201412 yr Where it always has been, on LM's website http://www.prepar3d.com/news/2014/04/4944/ ... so stop the phalafel (that's a technical term) in this thread and go get it. And yes, they have already started work on v2.3 and it will have some improvements that folks have asked for. So before you get worried about their silence for the next few months, I can assure you they are working to continue moving the platform forward. Cheers, Rob. Thanks, I remember reading those, just couldn't remember the links. Any hints as to what those improvements are? They seem to have implemented everything that they have talked about so far except for SLI.
April 7, 201412 yr Any hints as to what those improvements are? I'm not sure if I'm permitted to divulge limited information I have on 2.3, sorry. But the hint is it's improvements many have asked for ... yes the LM crew do listen.
April 7, 201412 yr Do you know how end users of XP10x find the cloud/weather rendering quality? Sorry, no, I've uninstalled XP 10, but keep in mind the default weather/clouds/sky for XP10 is somewhat pedestrian. When I used to frequent the XP10 subforum, most people there seemed happy with SkyMAXX Pro. There were a few grouches, but there are everywhere in flight sim land.
April 7, 201412 yr P3D v 2.2. is stunning. Flew VFR over Hoover dam - and then over the Vegas strip- saw the dancing fountains fully animated from the AIR! WOW!! Have Orbx FTX Global and Orbx vector 1.1 along with PNW and NorCal. Have Rex Direct Texture 4, and waiting on Rex Direct Weather 4 which is coming soon. Debt of gratitude to Rob Ainscough for his hard work testing P3D. It's really FS XI in my book. VERY pretty. Nice flight dynamics too. I have Skymaxx on XP10. It's nice, but overall the experience on P3D is what's happening now, IMHO. Great job by LM. R. April 8, 201412 yr Here's an opinion you can take to the bank. heh. Thanks Jimmy. And it can only be better and better. I enjoy both platforms, but clearly LM is putting the heat on in terms of "as real as it ever has gotten" R. April 8, 201412 yr Well I guess this thread is done now. I did a complete removal of the 2.1 and clean install of Nvidia 337.50 then installed V2.2. As Is my custom I tried to brake it by setting everything to the max Scenery, Traffic, the works. Checked every check box and took off in the Bonanza Midday building storm from CYVR and flew around for half an hour before I ran out of time. The vanilla install actually looks fantastic with all that autogen and I didn't get anywhere near an OOM. Its clear that they did it. I really can't see anything causing an OOM in this sim. It really is time to say goodbye to FSX. Only hope there is an NGX for P3DV2.2 soon. Thanks for keeping us all informed Rob. Much appreciated. Hard to say but those beta drivers I think made a difference too. My GTX 780 was stable at a significantly higher clock than before and with those max setting is was seeing the frame rate up and down around 20 fps. and surprisingly smooth even at those low frame rates. I going to have to spring for another GTX 780 now

Rob, thanks for all the hard work you did on this thread. You gave us all hope and now it's Christmas Day! :-) Ken
April 8, 201412 yr Thanks for all the kind words ... but LM should get credit for all the truly hard work, I just tested from a "consumers" perspective. I can probably make 2.2 OOM, I got real close once at 3.9GB but you really have to toss everything and the kitchen at it (in terms of 3rd party add-ons).
April 8, 201412 yr Commercial Member It really is time to say goodbye to FSX. I hope more and more people realize this and start to move forward with this superb platform. I am floored by how good it is. The more users on P3D, the more DX11 innovation from our third party producers. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations

I do hope that 3rd party add-on developers continue to optimise their products and don't get complacent because we have a wee bit more VAS headroom now, otherwise we'll be back to square one!

April 8, 201412 yr A big thanks to LM and Rob for giving us a great platform with 2.2! Now developers can go to work! Regards Lamar Wright
